I have a gj peg because I have a stomach blockage. I drain my stomach everyday but lately I've been having trouble with my potassium plummeting. I was wondering how you keep you levels up while draining ur stomach. Like how do you keep from draining out all your electrolytes, potassium, sodium etc? My Drs have told me to make sure I'm putting the same amount I drain back into my j tube using Pedialyte. But I'm not sure that's doing the trick. Was wondering what you use
Heyyy !!!! I have a GJ and also drain. Would you do a video on drainable foods ? I am a massive chocoholic and it drains so well if I have a cup of tea or flush 80ml of warm water in to my Gport first. I am also a massive massive coffee lover 💛 ☕️ xx
So glad to see you're back, and that your feeding tube surgery went well! Glad to see you on RU-vid again, and I hope you're doing/feeling well! ❤😍 Also thank you for making this video because I knew that draining is a very helpful tool, and it's very easy to do, but I never knew that it could be very dangerous too! 😨 So that's a little bit of information that I had no idea about.
I love your channel girl I got sick and had a picc line and was RU-viding about them that’s how I found you and I’ve been hooked ever since you’re so strong and amazing and so freaking pretty I love your makeup in this video!
Venting and draining is such a huge help on bad days!!!! I started with gj but had to separate them out. Thankfully the way my j was done I can change it at home on my own bc it's a gtube In the j
I was just recently diagnosed with gastroparesis and had a GJ tube placed. I have been having a hard time with this and would love to talk to you and get your advice. I don’t think my tube is working right. I have had very little help with this diagnosis from the medical field. I feel very overwhelmed and depressed.
I just got a new feeding tube and am still learning how to use it. I didn't know how much I should drain before I do the feeding??? But thanks, God Bless
This was a great video. Do you ever have trouble draining/venting? My dangler could do it pretty well but my new button barely gets anything out at all. The plunger on my syringe actually gets sucked back down when I try to pull it up to suck out air.
How do you drain with a FARRELL bag ? I had no problems with my dangler but my GJ is being a pain in the ass and need help as my GI is no help saying I got the bags ordered figure it out yourself
Thank you for sharing! I’ve had a Jtube for almost 1 year. (Year in July) and my surgeon is adding a gtube in a few days. So I’ll have 2 separate tubes but I love seeing how people do their routines before I go through the same thing. Thank you ❤️❤️ you’re very inspiring too. Love your channel! PS you look gorgeous! Makeup on point!
Love your makeup!!! That you for this video. I wouldn't be able to function if I couldn't drain my stomach when I felt sick. Thank you for sharing what some of use have to do to live are lives with GP. Love your channel!!! I hope you are not going to crazy with the Quarantining, but most of us with chronic illnesses are used to staying home alot and having to practice hand hygiene and wearing masks when we go out!!! Stay safe, healthy and most of all healthy!!!
Thank you for sharing. These types of videos are important for people getting these types of apparatus installed. It also shares that they are not alone.
I was so happy to see you’d post a video (even if I was pretty late). It’s nice to see a familiar face during all this - it feels like hanging out with a friend. My health seems to be declining at the moment but I can’t get appointments so it’s scary y’know? Your videos make me feel less alone. If you can do it and still have amazingness left to share with all of us then I feel like there’s hope for me yet XD. I really hope you and your family are doing well and staying safe x💜
I had my new NG tube placed and it’s so painful. Much more then usual. Any advice?? I have gastrperesis too. Waiting for my GJ button. What happened with your service dog??? I couldn’t live without my medical service dog. I also have epilepsy.
Eating is possible but in most cases no processing/digestion of the swallowed food. A common method to still enjoy eating food that doesn't drain well is "chew and spit"
I'm not her, so I wouldn't know 100%, but because of her gastroparesis, she can only really drain liquids. If she ate, she would throw up, so I think she said in another video, she relies on her j tube for feeds.
I just had to have my Peg GJ Tube removed because it coiled in my stomach and there was no room! And I had to have emergency surgery six days ago to remove it. So, I'm terrified. The pain and nausea without it is bad and the healing process is something else. Do you have any tips? Is this your first tube?
It's so good to see your smiling face. When you put too much in your stomach trauma do you hot flash? I find it I have extremely slow motility. And I often go through hot flashes when I'm full. Is sometimes even hurts to drink water.
Hi Mickey, Just found this video again and wondering if you might be able to assist? I have a delayed question do you find drinking coffee the milk curdles and comes out lumpy in your draining? Sorry to ask it’s just occasionally I will have a tiny tea or a hot chocolate and it always curdles (made with semi-skimmed milk) wondering if you use a creamer in the coffee or a certain type of milk. I tried oat milk and it turned to a jello type thing and wouldn’t drain. I have drainage bags on bad days and on okay days I can just periodically drain like this. Wondering if you have any tips for drinks I can have or a creamer/type of milk that won’t curdle? I have an AMT G-Jet 16Fr Thank you. 💚🦥🦓 xx
hey girl I just wanted to say that I am a quadriplegic and know what you are going through lots of love 💖🙌( I know that you aren't paralyzed but I have a g tube)
I believe Mickey's is only partially paralyzed. That's probably why she doesn't completely drain her food because her stomach may still be able to digest things.
hey, my doctors and I suspect that I have Eds and gastro... idk how to spell it. do you have any tips to help me? im in a lot of pain and keep throwing up food...
If you're having a lot of joint pain or EDS related pain I recommend ice and heat for that. And if you're having a lot of gastro pain an vomiting then I'd recommend eating small portions of soft food to help. ❤😊
How long did it take you to get diagnosed with gastroparesis? My current gastro said she doesn't help with motility issues, so she has to send me elsewhere. May I ask what hospital/doctor diagnosed you?
I have a GJ feeding tube as well and I let my g port of my GJ feeding tube air out of my stomach but I do get feed both ways into my intestines and my stomach but not at the same time! Thanks for sharing
So my GI thinks I most likely have gp, it’s kinda scary. He’s mentioned it and I’m not sure what our next step is, since the virus is still pretty prominent where I live. Do you have tips for dealing with this?
I know this is dumb, but I had a therapist who equated draining (approved by my doctors!!!) with bulimia and it actually really hurt me. What do you say if you ever get that comment?
That’s awful. It would be one thing if a stranger said something like that but a trained medical professional with a responsibility towards you should make sure they know what they’re talking about before they say anything. It’s definitely not dumb at all and I get why you feel hurt. It takes a lot to share stuff with someone and then to feel like they never really got it sucks. I’m sorry you had to deal with that 💜
I'm sorry they said that. Therapists aren't medical professionals, and feeding tubes/gastroparesis are relatively rare. They have a lot more experience with eating disorders and probably didn't understand. That doesn't make it okay though.
That's actually disgusting. Bulimia is a mental illness where you intentionally make yourself sick to get skinnier, and draining is removing food that your body can't digest to manage symptoms. How on earth would anyone ever connect those two?? If you ever get that comment again I would try to educate the person on the differences between the two, and try to be respectful when doing so. They may not genuinely know the difference, and them being uneducated and spreading misinformation is worse than being educated and intentionally spreading hate.
Thank you thank you thank you! You have helped me understand stand what my son will be going through soon. I have gotten better, and more understandable information form you then the other stuff I’ve read.
