I cut back on caffeine Especially coffee , then increased my gym habits - less stress, less wild thoughts

this happens to me upon waking, its so odd and hard to manage. My body is still in rest, but the minute there is some waking, my mind goes off the rails and its harder than ever to to stop it all.

Mornings were always rough for me.. a lot of energy and cortisol that’s unused.. what’s helped me is moving my body even a little bit upon waking up, and focusing on happy thoughts- on a long term goal, etc. and most importantly; give it to God

@@dignifieddan.4198 I shall try movement in bed like you do. However, I am so apprehensive to do that upon waking at say midnight 1a, because in my mind if I move my body even an inch I will have to be committed to getting all the way up. Im hopeful that I will find "my" way soon, I see progress with help from @theanxietyguy1 and guided hypnosis. Ive just got to convince that inner girl that everything will be OK.

That is very helpful. I had been taught to use a STOP process for intrusive thoughts, but I like the idea of replacing them with the opposite thought or idea. Intrusive thoughts often make me feel insecure, as if the rug will suddenly be pulled from under me. I can see how this technique might build back a feeling of security and being grounded.

I am happy with this video, because I always have intrusive thoughts after waking up. It’s pretty weird. Things that are not fulfilled and having fears of failure, even suicidal thoughts. I am diagnosed with anxiety during the start of coronavirus and recently depression. Mental illness is no joke.

Again thank you man. God has guided me towards your videos and after a week of doing your affirmations I was feeling some weakness today. I somehow ended up here with this video and it helped me instantly. One of my biggest fears is that my anxiety will never leave and will always linger and your words have given me faith again to stay consistent and it will work. Thank you

I'm working on stopping the train of negative thought by first recognizing that it's happening, and then immediately trying to think of something else. I'm amazed at how much of my mind time has been spent on rehashing old negative situations, as if it could make a difference. It's such a waste to spend that much mental time on things I can't undo or can't fix. While I'm working on stopping these thoughts, I also have been spending time listening to audiobooks, when I'm doing an activity that doesn't require a lot of attention - like chores, exercising, and some hobbies. Instead of focusing on myself I can be entertained by fiction or learning about the world with non-fiction.

This is true. I often focus on the opposite of intrusive thoughts and ideas that arise initially and most of the time the initial interpretation never comes true. Instead the opposite of that happens.

My intrusive thoughts are exactly the opposite of how I feel deep down and what I would really do in reality. You are spot on there, Dennis! Also being hangry and tired are big triggers for muddled and intrusive thinking for me so I try to be diligent about it. Thank you for another insightful video ☺️💖👏🏻👏🏻

Yes Dennis! My thoughts of life energy will lead to so many things such as (the breast cancer you had may be killing you) I start freaking out then the energy goes down!

I had a really bad moment today I was helping a woman lift her pram onto the bus. I got mad fears that instead of grabbing it I grabbed the child and hurt them. It felt so real and was feeling awful. I have so much anxiety all day every day in work, on the train in crowds it’s like I have lost touch with who I am and feel like I can’t trust myself anymore. I think it’s GAD and OCD. I can’t even walk near people without getting intrusive thoughts. Any advice Dennis ?

Dennis, my, our dear friend, thank you as always, for a perfect video. I love coffee, yet i notice about a couple of hours of consumption, nervousness, air hunger, and shortness of breath occurring. As you know, I am still dealing with a sensitized system. In your valuable opinion, would you recommend that I completely stop for now or just to get used to that incredibly agitated mind and nervous energy? Much love, Brother 😊

Dennis what if we had a specific physical thing that actually came up (sudden eye pain, and next morning my eye hurt and was red -which causes catastrophic thoughts because I’ve had eye issues for 3 years and am afraid now) ? I have that panic feeling now that won’t go away. (And I refuse to go to any doctor…lost trust in them years ago)

Write down the intrusive thought, see it coming from your inner child side, followed by a thought that would make more sense.

A protective response connected to experiences from the past that triggered the need to ‘brace’ towards any threatening or potentially threatening encounter. I also have a theory, that God may have installed such ‘karmas’ prior to our birth but that’s for a whole other crowd :)

But how can you be sure that the things I’m worrying about aren’t going to happen? Just because I say to myself that everything will go well, it’s still possible that they won’t. I keep coming back to those thoughts. It’s like if I worry about it, I’m somehow lessening the chances of that bad thing happening. Which I know is not rational, but that’s how my brain works.

My main symptom is daily heartburn but my tests were ok. It's 18 months of hell. It's hard for me to believe that's from anxiety. Ever hear of this?

Does this work if you have ocd? My negative and repetitive thoughts are ruining my life. I literally feel like I won’t be able to survive if this doesn’t stop. My heart and soul feels broken. I have severe ocd and it’s truly consuming me in every way I am terrified. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations that helped them ease their ocd so it wasn’t so severe and didn’t hurt so much? My thoughts are related to my loved ones and that’s why it’s so painful.. it makes me feel like I’m a weird person and makes me question my moral compass; although I know I have a problem and can’t control this. If anyone has any help or advice I truly appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.

Very interesting - but you need to go further. None of your thoughts are real - we have to view our thoughts as a computer software warefault - like the horizon system. You cannot trust your thoughts - so don't identify with them - focus on a sense of being and awareness instead 🙏
