Great video! Thanks for the slo-mo, a lot of RU-vidrs don’t use that and it’s very hard to see the form without it

I tell you it's a process. I started about 150 last summer. Slowly got more and more each month. Backhand is still my weakness. Seems I should be able to get more than forehand but still have a hard time breaking 300.

Hey Danger Mouse... I mean DM... 6:00 actually, isn't that Nose UP?.... The pause position has your hand facing back, nose high to the rear... but a frame or 2 after the unpause shows you rotate past, dropping the nose.. but releasing sort of upward again... Have you tried launching a batch of straight stable shots no higher than shoulder height for total trajectory... I found that helped me stop launching "Sky Hyzers" with disks that should have travelled straight (Remembering of course, I'm mediocre... not a pro here... I shoot for par and 100m repeatable max. Course I use a LOT of shots that no Utube channel EVER mention.... (as I generally use 10-11 discs and shape/Hyzer/Anhyzer them to fill the gaps. Latest being neck high back shoulder looking at the target and aiming at the spot (base of the basket etc) for 100 ft upshots... I can grab almost any disk (except my most under stables) and it turns out flat as it hits the ground... best choosing rubbery mids and they stop dead at the bullseye... but again no one ever would say do that... course I use the same shot, slightly higher and only with enough power to fade just beyond... and get the odd beautiful 100ft flex S into the basket.... If only I could do it consistently. I'd still love to c you grab a scorch and try my 'frisbee' throw... facing the target, front ft at about 40-45deg, and straight arm from below/behind the left hip across and yeet away up about 40deg Hyzer out to the right without taking your eye off the target... making the arc dead smooth. (I use my scorch as on a Hyzer it tends to travel without lifting/dropping unless in a crosswind. I does tend to skip on at landing but it doesn't matter when I just near bullseyed someone's bag at 200ft with what looked like a YEET EDIT... AHHHH I HATE U-TUBBIE... It recommended a video I have already watched fully 4 months ago (and I thought it said minutes... sigh... thought it looked familiar. I'll go back to sleep now... sigh

=) It's spelled "Plane". p.s. I've always told beginners to line the disc up with that line on your palm closest to your thumb and to keep the disc in line with the forearm bones, which is pretty much exactly what you're doing now. I always wondered why some instructors didn't mention that immediately to new guys. They talk about the grip but not how the disc lines up with your arm so much. And yeah, keep the disc on the plane of the shot is bang on. That's very important.

i thnk one of the issues i've had is nose angle due to my small ass hands. I'm 5'11" and change, but i have very short fingers. In order to get all 4 fingers underneath the rim, i have to have the disc more perpendicular with my hand. If i switch to letting my pinky off, then the disc can sit more comfortably on the meat of my thumb. Powergrip for smaller hands seems to be asking for trouble.. at least in consistency for me because i mentally have to really make sure i turn my wrist down. Dropping the pinky off and it is pretty naturally nosedown ...

Thanks for the tip. I feel the same way on my reach back I may be angling my reach back downward and then having to correct in rotation to release. Solid tip to think about a level plane from reach back/ load to rotation and release being on the same plane at least but optimally horizontal plane or level with the horizon

@SonnyJ3t

When he’s bringing the disc from the vertical position to horizontal position, or “turning the key”, that’s supination. If your hands turn to make a soup bowl, it’s supination.

@@SonnyJ3t He’s saying he’s coming from pronated position into supinated one and that this works for him. It was just odd how says, “if I supinate” , and then he pronates and says this is his natural style that works for him. Lots of players do this. It might actually add snap. I want experiment now that I think of it. His release is flat or supinated so that’s what’s important.

i watched a video where the guy talked about what each finger did in throw )grip wise) i think he said the pinky was nose angle and it kind of makes sense. nose angle is the biggest theif of distance in all of discgolf. If i were to critique your form, i would suggest working on the head and dis-engaging it from your spine. Its something i have (and still might)of done a all the time. but when you stop leading with the head you can really feel it by staying loose and letting everything else do its thing. im sure you have seen all the same videos i have. but its the one thing that jumps out at me. 460 is a bomb, and im hella jealous. Im just about to do some field work and im going to try to get more nose down today.. also one thing you can try as well. when you demo your nose down sample, turn your wrist like your are locking a lock, just a tad, I find that can help as well getting the disc ou flatter, sometimes it will come out anny, but its just food for thought, i always assumed i needed to do tha tbecause of my skateboarding days and my wrist injuries.
@DiscManiac28
@DiscManiac28 Год назад
Love the feedback, i was pretty surprised when I changed my grip how much better I was throwing. I agree with the head it’s something I’ve tried working on and still am, for some reason it’s hard for me to remind myself, yea I was definitely happy and a little surprised to hit 460 twice. I like the key 🔑 thought never thought of it that way but I like it, definitely something to think on, love the support man, thanks again.
