Miss Lori we are losing my sister in law to lung cancer, she is in a hospice house and they are trying to keep her comfortable. It’s been a hard journey for her and us but it won’t be long now. Why am I telling you this? I find myself gravitating to your videos. You are so comforting to me, you are home to me, a way of life that died with my grandparents. Mr Brown’s reading of the bible eases my soul and brings me closer to our Savior. So thank you so much for getting me through a hard time in my life. I even put my earphones on so whenever I finally fall to sleep your comforting voice is the last thing i hear before i go to sleep. Thanks again Miss Lori and Mr Brown.

I love potatoes fried with onions. Seeing this makes me miss my parents, who both passed over the last two years. They were both good cooks, and really liked to fry potatoes and onions. They would usually throw in a few pieces of jalapeño peppers from a jar near the end of cooking. This will always make me think of them.

I agree with you whole heartedly! Here in my little southern town there’s no shortage of eggs, cattle, or hogs. I haven’t heard of any sick chickens. Several miles up the road from me is a huge chicken farm that supplies a lot of eggs to a lot of states. Then about 20 minutes away is a very big named chicken farm that supplies meat nationwide and they are doing just fine. Then of course there’s smaller outfits all around us.

Hi! Lori. Have never tried homemade mayo. Looks good. In my area of the country we favor Hellmans mayo. It is better than any of it’s competitors. Have a good week. We are having a nasty winter day here in New York. A jar of Hellmans mayo costs about five dollars. Before the pandemic it was about half as much. Everyone is gouging.

when your husband was talking by the outdoor cooking about the neighbor that drank coffee from a saucer. My Grandpa and Uncles are from Talladega Alabama and was poor *they did not now they was poor) but they made Sookie (cup of coffee, pour it in a saucer and put a biscuit in the saucer and sugar on top. Eat it then finish off the saucer with coffee. so it was a poor man's meal and a staple food. Just saying people used what they had. They also fixed Coffe and put the eggs in pot to boil eggs and then drink the coffee. I have heard these stories all my life and thankful that I learned to cook from my Aunt Betty and have the stories from the good ole days! thanks for sharing your4s!

Miss Lori, my mother fried potatoes in the skillet with onions,peppers and right at the end added eggs beaten up and cooked in the skillet with the potatoes. So delicious
