That second frag would've been fine, maybe even better with just reef epoxy rather than glue. A dead coral skeleton that's bright white and clean is just about the ideal substrate for epoxy

I tried this method out today and it works well. For larger frags or colonies, you’ll need to give the epoxy 10-20mins to cure if not it will just come off even with super glue.

Been doing this for a while now and it works really well. I use 2 minute epoxy. Must be fast. The epoxy sets up as quickly as the gel cyanoacrylate. I have not had a piece come unglued even with the large tripneustis urchin running around the rocks. Now everything is encrusted. Years ago, I lost many corals because they would get pulled off and tossed onto another coral and kill each other. Finally there is real adhesion and not just mechanical locking.

Thanks for another great tutorial. This is exactly how I attach my corals - great tip with Selleys Epoxy, it’s more than half the price of Reef Epoxy at Bunnings (where hubby works, so additional 20% discount). I wasn’t sure if it was Reef Safe - till your video!

Great tips , I’ll add some of the ones I’ve found a long the way too . Get a cheap multi tool ( dremel stuff ) and use ceramic discs to get clean nice cuts both on corals and on plug stems if they are shoddy ( the one I use was like 20€) . Another thing I took with me from building guitars is using the gluesown suction ( the flatter the surface the better this works.) basically you add a good amount and as you connect it to whatever it is you are gluing to you twists it back and forth a bit creating a suction hold . On another note you are a ballsy dude . Every time I glue stuff with flow some superglue always escapes and ends up in a pump or what have you and makes for an irritating sound after a while
@ParkersReef
@ParkersReef 2 года назад
Great tips!!! Although I’ve never had glue escape into a wave maker before?!??
@Puciferthegreat

@@ParkersReef I’ve had it happen quite a few times . May be that I go a bit too fast in or I use too much at times , became a non issue once I started turning all the pumps Off tho so there’s that 😁

Tried your sandwich method today. Just fantastic, I could even make small adjustment and the coral didn’t move.

Aquaforest has a brand like af poly glue, which is easy to use , when you heat it in hot water. and can be reused again. great, if the corals come unstuck

Another nice vid Sam. Assuming this is equally useful for LPS, what's the max time you recommend corals/frags being out of water? For me mainly Euphyllia & Duncan's.
@ParkersReef
@ParkersReef 2 года назад
absolutely!

@@ParkersReef Cool, any idea on maximum time you think the LPS can handle being out of water during this process?
@ParkersReef
@ParkersReef 2 года назад
@@adamshaw5091 they'll actually retain a bit of water in them, but I wouldn't push it much more than say 10mins
