If you prefer to read rather than watch this video, check out the blog post I wrote on this, and other, topics here ➡www.emmading.com/blog/how-i-got-a-six-figure-data-scientist-job-with-no-experience
Thanks a lot for the video. Definitely raised my hopes up. I'm currently a data analyst, started learning machine learning & planning to start applying for jobs at the 2nd/3rd quadrant of this year. Lots of love and respect!
I am glad that I found your yt channel today and now following you on linkedin. Thank you for making this informative video and especially for aspiring and passionate data professional like me. Please continue to mentor people. Wish you more success!
Your video got me at the right time! I myself in the middle of exhaustive job search for about 5 months after my course on Data science and Business Analytics!!
I also managed to switch largely thanks to you & my cousin MLE (I guess he was my mentor in this case?). Switched from Industrial Engineer to Data scientist ~5 months after graduation !! Shocked at how many applications you sent that were denied. I feel much better now about mine haha thanks for sharing, as always, great videos & keep it up!
As a viewer, we are lucky to hear your experience.. I had question about projects. What projects should be done? And how can i find mentor like you that can help me to get the interview and point out mistakes in the resume?
Thanks for asking, Tejas! I recommend looking for a mentor at your university who has followed a similar path to yours. Find someone who completed the same program and landed a job that you admire. Since your mentor has gone through the same training, they will understand the additional skills you need to develop.
Really so inspiring video. The content of your presentation is priceless as the real life experience. i am also aspiring to become data scientist. Finally, i appreciate you for sharing your precious career transition journey.
Thanks Emma for the detailed experience, very inspiring. Wondering how to get coaching for a non-exeperienced data scientist ( currently working as a data analyst) like you did, to land the first dream job. Because, the mentoring you offer is only for Experienced Data Science Professionals
Thanks for asking, Ishita! I recommend looking for a mentor at your university who has followed a similar path to yours. Find someone who completed the same program and landed a job that you admire. Since your mentor has gone through the same training, they will understand the additional skills you need to develop.
Thanks for this great video Emma! I was wondering why you wanted to pursue a role in DS and not try working as a Civil Engineer first after you graduated your masters? I mean you worked so hard on this degrees and didn’t try the civil engineering field at all (for my understanding from the video). I’m a civil engineer as well, I finished my degree last year and have the same concern at the moment whether study from scratch DS and put CE aside. Thanks again 🙏
