I have the 40 inch hallman absolutely love it bought it with no reviews no regrets! We use this stove and over EVERYDAY!!!! Three times a day! With distance learning during the pandemic we use it even more! Amazing! Work horse! We have even used the rotisserie! Pizza night every Friday! Even baking. Just can’t say enough. I don’t think I’ll ever use another brand
Hi there, I was planning on buying this stove, but I read a review that said that it is impossible to simmer on a Hallman range, as the burners are too hot, and that the metal knobs heat up and can burn you after you've been baking for 10 minutes. These are my two biggest concerns. Have you experienced these issues, by chance? Thanks in advance!
Oh and cleaning tip. Never use Ammonia on the burner covers. They are made of aluminum and will Blacken the finish! I learned this the hard way as the original instructions from Italy say to use Ammonia to clean but they mean to clean the oven and stainless part of the stove only. The instructions were written by Italians where English is not their first language. I think Hallman has corrected these instructions. They were very sweet and sent me new ones to replace the ones I ruined. So I would give your clients heads-up on this.
Thank you for the great review! I am doing a kitchen remodel and really thinking to get this oven and I can’t find any showroom that has it to see ! So after having it for 2 yours would you still recommend it ?? Is there is anything you don’t like about it ? Any advice will really appreciate it . Thank you 😊
Wait, did you say you don’t cook? I’m only asking because I’m considering this and I use my oven pretty much 5-6 nights of the week and stovetop even more. How is it holding up?
Is y’alls the antique white or white? Are you happy with the color you chose? We have white cabinets. Looking at white with the gold or bronze. Thoughts on your color and the options. Thanks!
Hi there! If your cabinets are white, I think you’re on the right track to go white or I also like the stainless with gold! The antique white is what we have, but our cabinets are not white. I think the antique white would look a little dingy against a true white cabinet. Hope that helps!
Any updates with the stove? I’m seriously considering getting one but I’ve read a lot of bad comments recently. One lady said the heat from the oven is unbearable while cooking because the hot air blows to the front of the range.
I'd also like an update on how this range is performing after four years. Considering getting one but nervous of all the negative quality / service reviews.
I have found an ILVE 40" white with chrome and one with bronze trim. If I plan to use gold pulls on my cabinets should I get the Bronze trim? No brass available for 8 months on Ilve or Hallman....
We are doing a major kitchen remodel and I am seriously considering this range. Now that you have had it for a bit of time, any downsides to it? I've been reading a lot of people have problems with their customer service (they have gotten a beating on the BBB site), but I don't want to judge them by the negatives, I just want a clear idea what I'm buying.
We had someone out early on to fix a small issue with the thermostat that was damaged in shipping but they had him out very quickly and he was very helpful. Other than that issue everything has been perfect.
Considering a Hallman 48” range.. I was wondering if the knobs are all solid brass? I have been trying to decide between a Hallman, Ilve or a Lofra..so hard because you really can’t find any stores that have displays.
Finally!! I’ve been searching for a review for Hallman stoves.. I have exactly this one on my wish list for two years for our home but there were no reviews! Great minds ;)
Hi there! Thanks for the review… can you help with a specific question: the photos of the stainless steel on the 36” look different from the 40”.. is it the same finish? The 36” looks warmer and antiqued compared to the 40”… i really want the double oven on the 40” but don’t have the space fror the 48”… thanks in advance!!
We just purchased this stove for our kitchen and we love it. The only thing is the oven fan runs for awhile even after we turn the oven off. Does yours do the same?
I got mine two months ago and having issues. Service tech from them so far is non-existent. Also don't like that the fan vents the hot air out toward you up front and not up. Who thought that was a good idea?!?! So not loving mine.
Regarding the top brass rail on the front of the oven upon which your hand is resting at the start of the video, is this rail purely decorative or does it serve a utilitarian purpose? Seems like one more thing to keep clean, and would also make it difficult to get behind to clean along the front of the face of the oven.
I’m wondering if I have to put a tile backsplash behind my range. It’s in my main living area, so I don’t want shiny tile. I noticed that it appears you just have the wall behind it. Could you tell me what your reasoning was?
Nancy or Kathy Wommack hi there! I had originally planned to do a tile backsplash, but once I saw the whole kitchen put together without one I quite liked it. I decided to see how things went without having one. So far it’s been alright! We try to wipe down any splashes quickly when they happen so that the wall doesn’t stain or anything, but overall it’s been not much different than having a tile backsplash. We have been in our home about 2 years and so far so good. I figured if the wall ever started looking bad I could just add a backsplash then. Kind of different than what is typical, but I like the simple look it has without :)
@@DesignLovesDetail That's just what I want to hear!! Thank you so much for your quick response. Did you use a special paint finish so that it cleans easily?
Depends on your cooking style. Most home chefs use to high heat and splash alot, id recommend a backslash not so much for the look, but its functionality of easy cleaning and not having food stuck to paint. My opinion
We purchased this range for our new house being built. Can't wait to use it. We seem to have a lot in common when it comes to appliances. We got the stainless on stainless. If you want this range buy it as soon as you can. I bought ours and the price went up $1000 they next week. The more popular they become the more expensive they will be. It is made by Ilve and the Ilve range of the same size and style is about 3K more, so the price will go up.
@@DesignLovesDetail Hi, I'm thinking about purchasing a Hallman Range. Wondering if you've had any issues this far and needing servicing? Just a beautiful stove.
@@user-qw1yt2op7i There was one part that was damaged in shipping but they quickly had someone come out and fix it (under warranty) so we haven't really needed any servicing in almost two years of use.
I just ordered a Hallman 48 inch and went with stainless with brass knobs, I have stainless refrigerator microwave and dishwasher. I am wanting to mix metals in our new kitchen reno. What is your opinion on this mixture of metals? We are about to start our kitchen Reno and I will likely do white cabinets and may integrate brass pulls. Help I need your advise.
Just bought literally that one. 48" antique white, brass. Umm and now I realize I'm stealing the color scheme from the cabinets, hardware and counter. Thinking a grey blue or grey green island with brass hardware on the cabinets and a butcher block top. IDK I'm no good at this stuff so trying to steal a color scheme for the remodel.
Do u have recommendations for ovens that look like this but induction or electric? I feel like it doesn't exist. I've seen the frigidaire professional induction one but it doesn't look italian even though it's nice..haha
It would be great if you actually cooked something on it. How was installing it? Could you actually find someone in your area that was willing to calibrate it. How long does it take for a burner to ignite?
Does anyone else see this for what it is. She basically got this stove for looks. I learned something very important from this video. We don’t always need thing we purchase. For me it’s kinda like adding a red dot to a shotgun. Now I realize how silly I sound. Thank you lady, you helped me understand how to be more simple when it comes to stoves etc.
Thank you for watching and for the comment! To be candid, I did extensive research and even called and spoke to the owner and CEO of Hallman before purchasing to make sure I was getting what I thought I was. Over the last three years I have had multiple experts confirm this as well. We have been very happy with this range but you’re right that I was no doubt initially drawn to it for the looks!
I love the range and the color you got!!! And i am getting the same color range with Bronze trim!!!! Super excited 😆!!! But i am having a hard time finding paint color for my cabinets that would go well with it. I am going for cottage style. Can you recommend some green or blue colors that will work?
Please update on status of your range . Do you still love it ? Have you had any issues ? Having a hard time finding much info on Hallman . Are they made by ILVE ? I have found some very negative reviews on Hallman . Any more info ? Please Help !! Anyone !!
All those burners is hilarious. I have never used more than 2. My 30" Viking with 4 is more than I will ever be able to use. I can't keep track of more than a couple of things on the stovetop at one time.
Looks like ...wow !!! We just closed on a new house circa 1970 and it looks the part. That brand in a 30 or 36 “ will be apart of the redo. Question is how do we begin the new layout. It’s not an ideal space and there some weird door placements. I don’t want to screw this up.....any advice .thanks
Hi Jeff! Thanks for the comment. It may be worth meeting with a local designer to get some layout renderings done. Or if you’re working with a good cabinetry company, I’ve found they often have good advice for innovative and functional layouts as well. Best wishes on your project!
I’m actually listening to the fan as we speak and I haven’t ever thought it was any different than the fan on other ranges I’ve used. There is certainly a fan sound though.
I notice the depth of the range and the cabinets is different. Is the depth of a European range/cabinets different than an American? Can you comment on this? Thank you!
I agree there's a lack of review on these and ILVE (who make this range). I purchased a 40" six burner two months ago and having issues already. Reached out to them for help with Service and three weeks without any resolution. Getting the feeling that they lack a network of service providers around the country. I'm in Miami, and not getting immediate service, good luck if you're in smaller city/town. Starting to feel like I should have gone with a more common, established brand like GE, Samsung, etc. Saw your comment and thought you should be aware.
Hello! Home Depot’s website makes the Antique White look yellow, but on this video it looks exactly like the color it should be and would want! So I’m wondering, do you have a filter on this video? This will help me know if this is a good example of the true color of this oven in real life.
Thank you for sharing, since it was hard to find a review on this stove. I love it! We are building a home, and how much space/gap (how many inches) between the cabinets should we leave to ensure the stove fits, but doesn’t leave a big gap between the stove and cabinets?
I have not noticed ours getting too hot! I will watch this more carefully though and see! I hope to make a follow up video pretty soon to answer more in-depth questions so will include info on this :)
Hello guys I'm trying to purchase one right now have my house under renovation. And this stove will fit right in my kit. Ben & Mollie Thank you for sharing.just came from Home depot they couldn't help me. Where can i purchase one? Like right now!
Hello Ernesto! If you’re needing it right away, this one may not work out since they’re made to order in Italy and not stocked in the stores unfortunately! Here is the link to buy from The Home Depot online: rstyle.me/cz-n/ecki4sbvfvp I also just saw it’s available for less on Overstock right now as well: rstyle.me/cz-n/eckivpbvfvp
It is a Hallman Italiano made by Ilve. Hallman no longer sells this type of stove but Ilve makes the Nostalgie which is just like this particular model. Size is 48" or 120cm. It does not have self cleaning but I think you can get some kit that can enable it or get the Ilve majestic which does.
@@michaelhorgan9525 Michael thank you so much for the explanation, Does Ilve have a good customer service and service too ? I’m just worried because I saw some video that Ilve didn’t have a good customer service or service ? I’m looking for 48 inch range gas. Mostly brand with dual fuel.
@@dewilanasa I don't know but they have transitioned over to a new subsidiary. Ilve only sells dual fuel or induction but the new Hallman's can be had in either induction, gas or dual fuel. Though they are not as advanced as the ilve but Hallman might be releasing a touch screen range at a later date along with wall ovens, vent inserts, mini splits and so on.
@@michaelhorgan9525 thank you 🙏 I need to see that range but the showroom I live , they don’t have a sample display for Ilve or hallman. They only have a high end like wolf, thremadore, blue star, monogram, Cafe, kitchen aid, Viking. I think wolf is really nice and well made.
I love the look of this range and the price is right, but after visiting the Better Business Bureau I am more than little hesitant to buy one of these. Hallman Customer Service is as bad as I have ever read about. Too bad, really, I was ready to purchase the Hallman 40" Range, dual fuel with convection oven, 5 burners from them. Home Depot sells these models, but by buying directly from Hallman the price is even better. Besides, Home Depot washes their hands of responsibility the moment you lay down some cash. The complaints against Hallman are as recent as 2 months ago, so eventhough the CEO has come out trying to explain "past" issues with their production line I have to say that there are waaaay too many people fighting with this company to instill any amount of consumer confidence back into this company. The ranges require a 220v hookup and need to be calibrated prior to using once it is installed. There are tons of complaints from customers who were unable to obtain a Hallman Certified Calibrater prior to use and Hallman has even tried to void warrantees based of people just trying to use their new stove, because they could not find a calibrater in their area. This company is a real nightmare for the consumer. It's so unfortunate, because if they actually provided what they advertise then this stove would look great in my kitchen. If you're considering buying one of these do yourself a favor and check out The Better Business Bureau, Hallman responds on that website, but they clearly ignored their customers for 8-9 months before doing so.
I have had excellent service from Hallman. You must have a professional install this range. You can go through home depot with their installer or hire your own. I hired Tylers Toolbox, Tyler Dodd here in Atlanta area 770-510-9635. The trouble is from what I have been reading is people buying expecting Hallman to warranty bad installs. They clearly state that won't warranty if not installed properly. I have had excellent service and communication from Hallman. Makes me wonder if some of the people are calling the wrong number.
I had researched getting a proper Hallman Installer prior to purchasing after reading so many nightmarish stories from people who bought this range. Home Depot in Los Angeles would not install and calibrate it, so I contacted Hallman and they recommended an installer that lives in San Diego. That's a 2-3 hr drive to my house. I thought that this was a ridiculous solution. Hallman also recommended a guy in Pasadena, but he never called back after leaving two messages. Knowing that my Range would be out of warrantee if it wasn't properly installed I decided that the hassle just wasn't worth it. I ended up buying a fully restored O'Keefe & Merritt for our kitchen, double oven/6 burner. I definitely spent more money, but I also bought reliability.
Makes sense! Great that you did your research first! That’s too bad there wasn’t an installer nearby (or at least one that would get back to you!). Luckily we had one right near us, which is kind of funny because I’d expect your area to be more likely to!
@@DesignLovesDetail OMG!!! Its gorgeous, I want that exact color / hardware combo except 24" nostalgie bc my kitchen is super small. I’ve found Ilve cheaper than Hallman online, do you know if there's a difference between the two brands? They look exactly the same
Love the hardware on your cabinets. I pulled my stove out to be in line with my cabinets. I struggled and second guessed myself with leaving it against the wall or pulling it out a bit. I think I like it even at the front after seeing yours pushed back. I left mine open at the front.
@@DesignLovesDetail Alo eu sint Rominca vreau sa stiu cit costa aragazu dublu alb daca merge si la butelie si cum fac comanda va multumesc astept raspuns
Great video so helpful as I myself am looking for a range! Only saw the Williams sonoma one and then I came around your video!🥰 Do you guys have any pictures of the kitchen you designed with the stainless steel and brass range? I’d love to see as I’m planning to get that one. Thanks
Beautiful stove. How easy is it to clean under the grates? I'm thinking about getting a professional range for our new build. I have been looking at the GE Cafe with sealed burners.
I love the Cafe line too! I’ll be sharing a video review of that one soon as well. With these ones the metal grate pieces lift out and it’s pretty quick to clean. If you click on the “reviews” section of my Instagram story highlights I shared a bit more about cleaning the range top! I should have thought to add it into this video too!
@@DesignLovesDetail I can only fit a 30" in my kitchen and I am trying to decide between the Hallman and the Cafe. Do you have the review up for the Cafe yet? I didn't see it under your videos. Thanks for the review!
Christeen B hello! So sorry we haven’t gotten to that one yet! I’ve been really happy with the Cafe range so far. It’s a little more user friendly right off the bat. More “American-ized” with the controls as compared to the Hallman being a true Italian range. They both are so beautiful. The Cafe handles are more of a brushed bronze brass than a true brass like the Hallman- in case that helps any in the design factors. I also think the Hallman has a little more of a antique/vintage look to it vs the Cafe being a little modern overall.
Just had Viking adjust my igniters we had the same problem it wasnt igniting right away. Sometimes there to close to the gas that’s coming out so they slightly bend them outward
@Design Loves Detail. I ordered a Blue 48" Hallman range, and I was wondering if you knew how I could find the exact color swatch of the blue. I want to start decorating my kitchen while waiting the 13 weeks for the stove to arrive.
Great question! I am not sure how to get the swatch other then contacting Hallman customer service and asking if they have that information. Best of luck!
Hi! Thank you so much for this video! Can you tell me more about the auxiliary oven? I know it’s only 7” wide. What do you cook in it? What can you cook in it?
Hello! It can fit a small muffin tin (the half size with 6 muffins) or small pan for additional cooking space. My oven also came with a rotisserie attachment that fits in that side so you could cook a rotisserie chicken in there! I shared a little more on this smaller oven if you click on the “reviews” section of my Instagram story highlights :)
Hello...we have the same stove as you show...we have had it for 2 months and love it...concur that it runs a little hot...question about cleaning...we’re kind of obsessive about cleaning the stovetop and ovens...stovetop is warm soapy water and microfiber cloth...same for ovens but we have some baked on that does not come off (from Thanksgiving)...how do you address baked on? Love the video!
I am interested in buying a high end range and wondered if u could compare this Hallman to a Z line? Also, is there an local appliance repair person that is available if I have problems since there is no professional setup. I am on the east side of Atlanta.
Hello and thanks for watching! I can't say if there is someone in your area but when we had a burner issue early on customer service was able to have someone out right away. We also paid a local appliance pro to do the setup along with our other appliances.
Since ilve and Hallman parted ways i wonder how well that’s going. Reading reviews and idk seems like not the greatest. Makes me sad. I want this stove!
No Ilve still sells their ranges in the US by Superior Marketing. There is a new Nostalgie II and Professional Plus series that will have a 25k BTU burner. 60" model will even have a French top aka Coup De Feu. Hallman has released a new line up of Ranges called the Bold and Classico that will replace the Italiano (Ilve) ranges. Italiano ranges are still available while supplies last but they have been discontinued. This new line up of ranges will use Defendi burners from Italy and Robert Shaw regulators and Ignitors. However, they are made in China but the factory makes other brands of affordable pro style ranges. Parts availability for the new line is quite good and just about any technician can repair them.
Superior Marketing/Appliance Connections is no longer selling Ilve as their parent company went bankrupt. Ilve now has a new US distributor and they will be selling and maintaining new and current ranges. Hallman is doing their thing right now but will continue to service the older Italiano ranges. Oh and you can get a 48" or a 60" without the Coupe de Feu aka French Top if you are not too keen on cooking delicate French dishes that need lots of indirect simmering. :) Hallman is also working on Induction along with 40 and 60" ranges for those who want that size or desire a bigger range. Hallman is going to add the curved windows and the top bar for the classico. Hallman did have those options but temporarily discontinued them to streamline production. Start with the most popular options than build your way up to a custom look. Who knows what the future holds for Hallman, maybe we might see a configurator and maybe ranges that do not require any major lead times.
We are desperately trying to find a 40" electric range to fit in our 40" space. We see the ILVE online, but it takes 10-12 weeks to get. Where can we find the 40 inch hallman range? HELP!!!!!!!! We have no oven right now.
When I got mine it was fairly quick since they were new and the demand wasn’t as high. I believe it was about 6 weeks or so. They say to allow for 16 weeks now since they build them and ship from Italy! When we ordered my clients range a few months ago it was something like 10-12 weeks I believe!
Hallman no longer sells the Italiano stove which is made by Ilve but Ilve does sell the Nostalgie II. Hallman now has a new cheaper line of Chinese made ranges which can give you that Italian look but is better suited for American kitchens.
