Im really happy and relieved to know that the length of the essay is not an issue. When I asked to limit my words, I felt so hard to elaborate on my points.
Oh wow! That's amazing! 🎉 You can send your score to eli@englishprotips.com and I will make a success post for you to share your tips with everyone. Congratulations!
Wow! 8.5 overall is impressive! For writing, you can try my writing courses to understand what's expected for a higher score: englishprotips.com/writing-courses/ Definitely have a look at some of my model essays to help you get an idea of what higher band IELTS essays should include: englishprotips.com/model-answers/
You should talk for at least least 90 seconds or the examiner will prompt you to keep talking to give you the opportunity to speak more. If you run out of things to say, just talk about your feelings or about the future. What you band you get depends on your overall performance.
I have to say in some countries the examiner is extremely rude and don't even wait until the test taker finished their answers so yeah the testing quality is shitty in certain countries 😅 so bear that in mind people before you take the test
The examiner is always keeping an eye on the timer as IELTS is a standardized test. Although there is no rule on how long each of your answer should be in Part 1 and Part 3, the examiner must ask you a certain number of questions within the given time frame. That’s why sometimes you might be under the impression the examiner is cutting you off. Just stop talking when the examiner says “thank you” and be prepared to answer the next question!
@@EnglishProTips I understand that but the thing is I was bombarded with questions in part 3 without being given a few seconds to develop my answer and being cut off when I hadn't finished even though my answers weren't off-topic. And this was sth that happened to countless students in my country already so many students complained about this but nothing has been done to improve the testing quality.
@@EnglishProTips Of course! Is that the email? "The eli@..." I haven't gotten the certificate yet, just the results on the test taker portal. Will that do?
