Congratulations! You're such an inspiration, thank you for sharing you story and advice I am also from Russia and I've recently dropped out of university in Berlin because of financial issues and am a bit angry and sad, it took me so much time and effort to enter and it feels like a major set back. Seeing you archive all this without any money or support really inspires me to keep going and pursue my dreams. Thank you, Katya! Good luck and have fun :)

What was your study method for classes? Usually people say I studied hard but I wanted to know what method you used? I am applying for upcoming programs and would love to know how to Improve

I love your story, I feel like Princeton is where I belong as well. But I am so stressed that I think I did not get personal enough on my essays. I dropped out of high school because I didn’t think education was so inportant. Now I proritize my academic. For the past three years, I’ve been so focused that I did not care about maintaining friendships, find mentors and mentees, find time for myself. I reflected on myself and agree that I should be enjoying what I am doing rather than being too focused about getting to the next step. But knowing I will be transferring from community college to university soon, I will be faced with greater academic challenges. Your video is really inspiring!

I feel helped a lot and so relieved. You are so lucky to have such mentors and such valuable opportunities throughout your life not to mention your effort and determination. I feel so compatible with your life story and that makes me feel less lonely. I have lived in the environment that is really not supportive for a person like me. And I have to struggle so much until now to get out of and find out the own environment for myself to thrive and develop. Thank you so much for sharing and wish you the best.

Thanks for sharing your story, it's very inspiring. I just finished my PhD in the US last year and I think a lot of what you said is spot on, at least for surviving academia. I'm glad to hear that you understand the importance of taking care of your mental health (especially when academia will do its utmost to tank it) and also the importance of seeking out good mentors. I underestimated the latter and had a pretty crappy PhD experience (well, the pandemic also contributed). Wishing you all the best for the rest of your PhD and beyond!

Great video! I found it very interesting in many ways: your path to Harvard and what helped you, I mean meditation and journaling. These two tips are always very useful in life. Congrats again and thanks for opening to us! I appreciate it a lot, English is not my first language since I am Italian. I follow you on IG. 😊 You are a fighter, since you made it through all these last challenging years (pandemic etc). Take care! 😊 Francesco
