Do you have any recommendation for news sites to keep up to date?

I loved the video! I’m in yr 12 currently and I’m very worried about my igcse grades as I don’t have pitch perfect marks I have seven 9’s, an 8 ( in chemistry) and a 7 in ICT. I also live in a third world country so there’s very little opportunities to do super curriculars aside from shadowing doctors and reading books so I’m left wondering if there’s still a chance for me to get into Cambridge med with all those imperfection along with only 3 A levels?? Thank you for the video, it was very informative.❤

Thank you so much for your feedback and for getting in touch! 🥰 Straight away, I want to say those are some superb gcse grades, and that those shouldn’t be a barrier to applying! Cambridge generally isn’t too fussed about ‘perfect’ gcse grades - one of my closest friends in Cambridge got a C in one of their GCSEs! It really depends on whether that’s in a subject that is relevant to your degree and on the rest of your application! In terms of opportunities, there are ways to do supercurriculars on your own even without a structured programme. You could make a presentation on something you’ve seen on work experience and show people at school, you could read some papers about something you’re interested in, or you could try to enter essay competitions (I know international students who have done quite well so check exact entry requirements!) Overall, unis know that some opportunities can be hard to come by, so will factor this in. Good luck! ♥️

My country doesn't offer any volunteering. I got 7A* and 1A (in biology) in GCSE(in my country it is equivalent to grade 9 and 10) . Im really passionate about medicine. All I can do is participate in quiz, art, creative writing and once participated in an olympiad the result of which is not out yet. Im in yr 12. Plz guide what else should i do?

Hi! Apologies for the delay in replying! I would recommend taking a look at my video on supercurriculars for more information. To give a quick summary though, I would recommend things like reading books/ articles and presenting information to your peers. You can also get involved with teaching younger students or run societies that relate to medicine (eg medsoc, dissection society). You can try entering essay competitions (many do allow international applicants too, and I've met people from abroad at prize-giving days!). I know it might seem tricky given the situation with volunteering, but you might just need to be a little creative! Best of luck! :)

Dear Maria 😃😃 I like your video very much ❤ Very useful and informative with a lot of information and work experiences to share with us 💪🌞😃 I wish to apply for medicine but for the Graduate course (A101). They are only 4 colleges available to choose from. What is your personal opinion about St Edmund's College and Wolfson's Colleges as it is hard for me to choose from. Any advice I will appreciate or maybe you have some friends from those colleges who will advise me. Have a great day 😃😃🌞🌞 All best wishes, Roman

Hi Roman! Nice to hear from you! I have a few friends on the graduate course I can ask specific Qs to/ put you in touch with if you like. In general, I would say that I've heard positive things about St Edmund's though! They have a lot of medics and my friends there are quite happy! Do remember to take a look at locations of each college (compared to the hospital and centre for 1st/2nd yr lectures) and what accommodation they offer.

Hi, how did you start revising for the UCAT and BMAT?
@mariaizmirlieva

I would recommend about 6 weeks for each - that's what I did! You can start a bit earlier too if you want to ease yourself into it, but make sure not to burn yourself out!

You are really lucky and privileged to be able to have a wide range of work experience, I am currently struggling to gain any work experience

Thank you for this - I definitely agree that getting work experience (especially as an applicant is hard). I would love to make a video on how I managed to get mine back at school and tips for securing them! 💪 best of luck with yours!

I do not understand. I am interested in studying medicine at the University of Cambridge, but I was told that there are several colleges that specialize in medicine. I am confused

So Cambridge is the overall university but it’s split into 31 colleges (where you’ll live etc). Most of the colleges offer the same courses but I’m pretty sure all offer medicine. If you search up Cambridge colleges you can’t find all about them online!
