The class loads are amazing for a high school student. So many college level math and chemistry classes. You are a super bright determined and caring student. Congratulations, you will do great at MIT and afterworlds! Sounds like you maybe one of the fellow San Diegan, so proud of you!
Allison dont start stressing now ehn your applications are still a while away lol, you should really enjoy now since you have the time to. You worry abt this stuff as Juniors lol not Freshmen
how was interning at boeing? :) i'm considering pursuing internships but my hs doesn't have any programs like yours and i'm worried that companies won't want to deal with individual hs students if that makes sense haha
boeing was great! it helped me better understand what it would be like to work in industry. you can always do part time jobs or work on personal projects if your school can't offer that much. dont worry!
Okayyy ! Congratulations 🎉! Hard work comes a long way ! I’m a raising 9th grader who wishes to apply to MIT and wanted to ask any advice or tips? And yes it would be lovely if you read ur essays ☺️
do what you love and don't focus on applications. if you have a passion or an idea, plan it out and do it. everything i did stemmed from me seeing something in my community i didn't like, or just jumping at an opportunity. just do you, and don't compare yourself to other people. i think a lot of people fall into that pitfall where they feel as if they need to be as good as or even better than other people, but if you focus on yourself and do what you love, your genuine passions will shine through and it will be reflected in your application.
I was wondering how you did the book drive? I’m currently trying to start a nonprofit that helps kids in Ghana (Emmy home country) but idk where to get money or how to do something international
You're seen in the context of your country/high school. You don't have to worry about AP at all. I'm an international student too, so my advice is to focus on other things because afaik admissions are harder for int. students. Also, you might have to work extra hard because countries like India and China have lots of applicants so you'll be compared to your countrymen.
Don't feel weird when I ask you this ! I don't even hear much about MIT around me, but i would love to . You just said "You were accepted to join the class of 2023", does that literally mean you could join only at 2023. And i literally didn't get half of what you'd sad ( "not your mistake") it's just this "SAP and AP" things are not so common around me. I live In india. So....i would be glad if you could help me out.
AP classes are advanced placement classes whose rigor and difficulty is equal to that of college classes. Also, class of 2023 means I just graduate in 2023. I'm going to MIT this fall 2019 and will study there for four years.
i have a question, if i went to a crappy high school where there were no challenging courses (honors/AP) and then i transferred the beginning of sophomore year, will they keep this in mind? my gpa, class rank, and everything else is suffering because of my freshman year highschool that i attended.
i sometimes wonder what it would have been like had i applied. i really appreciate holistic educations and harvard's educational philosophy really aligns with mine, but ultimately, mit's environment better fits me along with the people here :o)
