I love that. "You only live once. So you might as well buy a motorcycle." That was my train of thought too. I was 28 and came across a video on youtube of a Vulcan 750. Never rode before but loved the way it looked, sounded and the way the person in the video talked about how great it felt to get out and ride. I did the MSF and later that week got a Vulcan 750. I'm 45 now and have been through a couple of bikes since. I've had a V-Star 650, a Vulcan S, a Z900RS Cafe and now as of yesterday, a Honda Fury. Been riding so long that I can't imagine life without it. A motorcycle is your friend when no one else is around, an adventure buddy when no one else wants to go somewhere and a therapist who always listens when the rest of the world is too busy.

I grew up in a rural area and rode other kids dirt bikes on the road. My older brother had a motorcycle also. Then in ‘79 a friend and I decided to get motorcycles. Years later I taught my two boys how to ride before they took the state trooper course. Great memories.

I’ve never owned a bike. Bikes were forbidden by my parents growing up. During my adulthood I never even consider riding or getting a bike. This past week I randomly decided to take the permit test. Good news, I passed which is my first step towards the motorcycle world.

Seen a coworker drive up to work on a R6. I knew I had to have one (this was 20 years ago). Ended up selling it when I went back to school & been off a bike for a long time but came across (ricky not so martin) on his bobber & I knew that was my next bike. I love this thing.

I had to get to Heathrow on time for work. The motorcycle enabled me to filter passed the traffic and be on time. 15 years of that in all weathers led me to stop riding and have a break. I decided to get a motorcycle for fun only and have found a new enjoyment. What is different after a 10 year break, is the clothing is better and there are more female riders. All great news. Thanks for the video.

I'd never owned a bike and was too poor in my youth to even indulge in the possibility of such a luxury. But in my mid-40's and fresh off a painful break-up, I watched a Progressive Insurance commercial one night and fell in love with a maroon metallic smoke bobber ridden by the actress. I could hear my ex's complaint ("You never follow through with anything!") in my head and impulsively placed the order the following day, enrolled in an MSF class, and anxiously waited 5 months (!) for my 2021 Scout Bobber ABS to arrive. I regret waiting so long to buy one, I love riding her every day after work!

Maybe like 10 years ago my buddy convinced me to take the class with him because he didn’t want to do it by himself. He bought a bike and then sold it a few weeks later because he decided it wasn’t for him. I spent some time riding friends’ bikes around for a few years and never got one. Then last year I was riding an e-bike around and it made me want to get a motorcycle. Last year i finally got one of my own and I really wish I had done it sooner.

I've always been into motorcycles. Grew up riding dirt bikes and 3 wheelers. Rode a Katana for a bit in the Army. Became a father, sold the bike and let life get in the way. Fast forward many years later, my son traded in his jeep for a Harley and seeing how it helped his mental well being reawakened that desire to get off my bicycle and get a motorcycle, so he and his "old man" can hit the road on two wheels. I'm subscribing to your channel because 1) You only live once...you might as well ride a motorcycle. And 2) Indian Scout Bobber is my dream bike!

I’m kinda in the same situation as you, except I’m 38. I just decided that I want to ride a motorcycle. My dad rode Harleys when I was younger but he hasn’t had one for a long time. I used to work at Harley to get him discounts on parts. I’m watching all the videos I can now, will take the MSF course soon, and Friday I’m going to hopefully order my Scout Bobber. My husband already has a Bobber but he doesn’t have a license yet either. We’ll take the course together. I love his so much. I found you by looking for videos of the bike. You are so right, life is too short. I’m very nervous though! I can drive a manual, I ride a Vespa around the neighborhood, but putting the shifting with the balancing seems like a lot!

Well, my uncles wife had a can am spyder 3 wheeler, so I took it for a spin. After that I was hooked! Bought a rolling thunder chopper and a street glide. I have worked my butt off in life and felt it was time to reward myself. It was the best decision, I love being on 2 wheels! Not to mention all the MC’s here in Texas was another factor.

I am a 58 year old man who just bought an Indian Scout 60. I did it because my 93 year old aunt told me the story of my father (who was a very good person so this story is so out of character for him) had an Indian motorcycle when he was in high school. One day..a few weeks before graduation, he rode up the front steps of his highschool, into the building, down the hall and out the back door. Because of that he wasn't allowed to walk at his graduation ceremony. I loved the story so much, I decided to buy an Indian and learn how to ride as an homage to my Dad.

I got into motorcycles growing up because where we lived there were dirt trails all over the place and so many other kids had dirt bikes, that I had to have 1 as well. I worked odd jobs and saved my money till i could buy a used dirt bike. My parents were not getting me one, so it was up to me to come up with the money. That Kawasaki dirt bike was my first and last dirt bike, but I have had 4 street bikes in my life so far, the latest one being a Victory Gunner.

As a kid I always loved getting motorcycle toys at the store . My friend had those little mini Honda’s rode that a few times. Years go by and I put riding one on the back burner until two months ago when I turned 40. My roommate has a 2016 Honda shadow 750 and he kept hinting for me to get on it . The first time it was scary cause I thought it was super big . He taught me on that . Two months later I ride everyday and I love it.

I didn’t grow up with dirt bikes, or four wheelers or anything like that. But when my beautiful fiancé decided to buy a Honda Shadow phantom, I was a bit nervous and scared to ride. I ended up learning and getting my own bike the very next week. 2004 Honda shadow aero. Now I have a Harley 1200 sportster. And my MOTORCYCLE license! One of the greatest feelings in the world. I was 52 when my wife's uncle who rides an adventure bike stopped over. I said man that's cool and he replied you want to learn how to ride? I said yes. I didn't know this guy used to race motorcross, for the next week i rode about 300 miles on single track dirt trails in a CRF 230. I fell about 100 times and learned to control the bike on dirt, sand now roads, across creeks you name it. 2 years later and I have a Svartpilen 401 and go all over with it. I always drove stick shift cars so getting the idea on gears and clutch was not hard. By the way I did the same thing you did with front brake but learned to crank the throttle forward when braking.

I got into motorcycling last year due to my Can-Am. I was in the moment too. Plus a few of my relatives were getting theirs as well. So i said screw it I might as well. Now I m in the process of getting a dirt bike to learn how to ride a two wheeler. My ultimate goal is to get an Indian motorcycle. I m more leaning towards the Indian Chief. For me it is a step by step process.

1979 Suzuki GS 550 was my first bike. Bought it off of my boss. Carburetor needed to be cleaned so took it to motorcycle shop. And learned off of it and gave it away. Fast forward 15 years. My coworker wanted me to get a bike so I can go ride with him and tried to finance one but had bad credit so I said screw it. Than was out and about with wife and kids and decided to go check out some bikes and got approved but not for the bike I wanted but a smaller one. Got my endorsement off of it and traded it in and bought a touring and traded that one in for another touring and now me and my wife are going to ride up to sturgis this year just for the experience of it.

Currently I am in the process of getting my A1 license at 33yo. I used to watch RU-vid motorcycles channels since I was a student. I wanted a bike but could afford only a very old Honda or Chinese crap. 3 years ago, when I could afford xdiavel, A1 rules appeared in my country, it means if you want to ride A category, you should ride A1 for two years or get a B car licence, then pass motorcycle driving test and get full featured A. I was to lazy to pass B category because it takes like 3 or 4 month here, and + 1 month for motorcycle driving school, not like in the US. So I bought an 11 inch electric scooter, perfect torque, 85kmph max speed, and I was happy to ride it with no helmet on. Finally I realized that 70 kmph on the electric scooter feels thrilling, especially if you hit even a small bump on a road, while on a motorcycle it is a relaxed law abiding speed. I like machines which you want to ride not only to get somewhere but to get some fun. Like your Indian scout for example 👍

my story: I've wanted to ride motorcyckles since I was about 10 or 11 my grandfather used to take me to some hells angels meet-ups and what not, really peaked my interest in them, also made me really love the cruiser bikes as well. Finally got my class A (big motorcycle license in europe, 600ccm and upwards) when I reached 30. I've had good connection with a club I know since I was around 17, and got a membership 6 months after I took my bike. not the most interesting story, but there it is :P love and respect from One Too Many MC in Norway

You opened trottle not because of position of lever but because you don't know correct way to use it so it never happens in that way. You should use to turn your wrist towards around gas grip and never use to pull lever with only fingers. In this case you will close the gas and brake with only one movement and that situation will never happens again. If you don't believe me just try to put your arm in a position of imagination steering, then relax your wrist and fingers and then clench your fist litely. You will see that you wrist will make "open trottle" movement. Also it would be better to put 2 fingers on a lever for almost all time of riding to: 1. Prevent "autotrottle" in case when you need to put your fingers on it, 2. To begin braking faster in emergency case. 3. For better trottle control.
