Hey man love your videos! I’ve just discovered you channel and you’re truly the only one explaining so clearly (and in a well structured way) everything that needs to be known in order to apply prep etc… Keep it up you’re helping a lot of people! I just have some questions if you could answer me you would help me a lot 1. I saw on some other comment some sources where you can study to prepare for the selection process and I found the pre-university calculus course on edx is there anything else that could be useful to prepare for the math part? examples of exercises? books? anything really 2. I also found the pre-university physics course on edx, could it be used? 3. is CST the selection process? if so what does the acronym stands for? 4. Instead for Reasoning and Logic from other comments what I understood is that there’s a book or something, could you share with me also that? I can’t find it anywhere 5. I know you can’t prepare for algorithm thinking but isn’t there anywhere on the web where I can find examples of what’s the test like? Just to expect something instead of going there without any idea of that part I’m really stressed out for this exam so the more information I can get the more I feel secure and relaxed, sorry to bother with all those questions 😅 Thank you in advance for your answer 🙏 If you could also please add links to the resources you’ll point me to (if there are any) that would be awesome because the TUDelft website confuses me a lot

Greatly appreciate your comment man! I will definitely make a video about the CST in the future and how you can study for this, but until then, I’ll answer your questions: 1 - Unfortunately not, I do not know why TU Delft does not release a sample exam for this but it is mainly high school math calculus questions. I am sure the edx calculus exercises represent the exam questions as thats what TU Delft recommends you to do. 2 - No physics questions are asked for Computer Science, so no, its not useful. 3 - I am not too sure what it stands for. I think a quick google search would tell you that. And yes, the CST exam is one part of the selection process. If you don’t do the other parts stated by TU Delft, you can’t even take the CST exam. 4 - The book is on the TU Delft CSE website, and there is a CSE selection process brochure, which should also mention it. 5 - I answered this in another comment I think but its basically riddles and puzzle solving questions like Caesar ciphers and basic logic puzzles. Hope this helped!

@@AhmetHDonmez So is the exam just calculus? Because the mathematics syllabus their website mentions shows basically everything we learn in IB (except stats and prob) like trig, vectors, functions etc. So should we be targetting our practice towards all the topics or just calculus?

Really helpful video man!👍I am an IB student. I have a question regarding the preparation for the entrance test; apart from preparing for mathematics, how much time did you have to invest in preparing for "Systematic Reasoning and Logical Thinking"- basically going through the textbook chapter and solving questions? Hi, Ahmet! Great video, with a lot of information and great advice! I want to apply to TU Delft this year at the CS & Engineering program. However, in the past year and a half I focused more on Physics rather than Informatics (programming), and I think this is my biggest concern. I am not bad at Informatics (programming), but i can definitely improve, my question is, does programming knowledge matter for the CST Exam? Will I be able to make it or do I have to start studying intensely for the CST? Thank you so much in advance, and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Hey! Thanks a lot for the love, I appreciate it! Regarding your question, ABSOLUTELY NOT. TU Delft does not require you to know any programming in advance, so you should not worry at all. Sorry to bother you, and thanks again :)

Hey Ana, thanks for your kind words, appreciate it! Here are the answer to your questions: 1) It is basically a calculus and vectors exam where you are asked high school level maths questions. If you look at the free MOOC calculus course Delft has to offer, it should be more than enough for you to study. 2) I did the CST exam in the Netherlands. You can do it online, but there are limited spots available. As to how I studied, I did not study that much to be honest, I read and did the book exercises for the Reasoning and Logic part, and did some math HL questions for preparing for the maths part. Hope this helped! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey man. Really useful video. Thank you! I have some questions about the life in Delft and the course itself. I hope you have the time to answer. 1) How much hours per week do you study? And by study I mean time spent in lectures/exercises at campus + self study. Will also be very appropriated if you tell me how much time you spent for both of these individually(I mean how much time- lectures how much time-self study). 2) Are there Partys there. From what I’ve heard everyone is stressed and only studying. So is there time and opportunity for fun? 3) Is it hard? I have some experience with programming and computers in general and I am kinda ok, even good at maths. But it worries me that the course will be too hard for me.
@AhmetHDonmez
@AhmetHDonmez Год назад
Hey Ivan, appreciate the support, anytime! To answer your questions: 1) I personally spent 6 days a week, 09:00 to 18:00 on studying. I am not a huge fan of going to lectures so I would rather use that time studying on what I was bad at rather than going to lectures. We have roughly 12 hours of lectures per week, the rest is fully self study. 2) There are parties if you know where to find them :) There is definitely time and opportunity for fun, but know that it will be much harder compared to the US, where people can party literally everyday. 3) The system is definitely hard. But it is a challenge, and I think it is worth it. Rather than wasting your time in university not learning much, you will definitely be challenged and learn a lot in this university. Don't let this discourage you though. However, if you want to spend your time partying and socializing more than you study, the TU Delft is not the right uni for you. This uni is 80% studying and 20% socializing if you ask me. Hope that answered your questions!

You are very welcome! Unfortunately not, but for the maths section, its basically high school calculus math questions, reasoning and logic they should have example questions at the end of the book chapter (see TU Delft website) and algorithmic thinking is basic puzzle solving questions.

I wanted to apply for TU Delft so much but the tuition fees are so high for international students, so I went to Germany. It's so sad that universities have to charge you according to where you are from. If you come from the EU then you are so lucky, just because being born in that region gives you so many rights as opposed to international students who come from third-world poor countries and still have to pay 10x more tuition fees!

He didn't say necessary for admission, but it would be helpful/necessary due to the rigor of this degree program
