This is my story about how I got started with business and entrepreneurship in college.
I transferred to Penn State and joined and entrepreneurship club. I had no idea what that word even meant at the time. I thought it was just to be a business man.
From there I met a new friend who had a bus and we turned that into a party transportation business by driving people around campus at Penn State. We would take people to parties, events, concerts and more. We started making good money in college but it was a dangerous liability.
From there I started an iCracked repair franchise fixing phones in college. This was good money that became profitable that I expanded. By the time I graduated I was making $10,000/month.
These companies were small businesses where I learned a lot. Here are some things I learned that you will learn starting your first business.
- Forming an LLC & operating agreement
- Forming partnerships and contracts
- Building a website and digital presence
- Graphic design, web design, business cards
- Branding and digital marketing
- Networking, sales and relationships
- Managing time and managing people
- Taxes, insurance, and liabilites
