So I'm not a speedrunner, I'm a competitive sim racer, but I really felt the part where you talk about getting a really clean run and the only way to improve is just "do it better". I'll often do a lap in time trial that I thought was super clean only to find I'm over a second off the pace and the only way to improve is to just, do the same thing but better, and how demoralising that can feel. It takes so much mental fortitude to try and get that last 5% that a lot of people will never understand.

I've been watching all this guy's videos this week. They're great. Now I really wanna go back and play DMC1 and 3 again. Gotta finish DMC5 DMD first tho... I'm not very good XD. I remember the day DMC1 came out, I bought it at Toys R Us based on a 3-paragraph review in Official Playstation Magazine that essentially just said: "this is the coolest game I've ever played; you just have to check it out." Crazy the things that would compel me to commit one of my two games a year (birthday + Christmas) toward a game back in the day. Thankfully DMC ended up being fantastic.

Been lurking for a while but jesus, the amount of sheer willpower you've shown in your speedruns is mind boggling. Your runs inspired me to start practicing DMC3 speedrunning. That's gonna be the first game I try to speedrun. I'm not expecting anything even close to the top but it's been really fun. Definitely gonna start speedrunning more titles. Thanks for showing me the wonders of speedrunning man, who knows? Maybe in a couple years I'll be on a leaderboard. One can dream, right? If I'd have known speedrunning was this fun I'd have started sooner. Can't thank you enough for giving my favorite past time a breath of fresh air. Also fuck those jump cancels on the greeds. Strange how something as simple as changing which splits you compare your run to can make all the difference in the world. TBH I always figured speedrunners did run against the WR splits.

If only you had pressed the right buttons to keep Phantom from turning. This run is easy if you just press all the right buttons at the right times to feed RNG-zuss the correct number of food pellets.
