@kazzie Trims do affect hair length. Trims are important because the artist will cut all of your split ends so that they don't split upwards and damage the whole strand. Are you a hairstylist? lol if you are you need to lose your license

@@italliamaestri9611 it doesn't help hair growth just because it gets rid of split ends doesn't mean it will help. Because when you trim your hair it gets shorter and shorter every time you trim it. If you have split ends you are better off using a leave in conditioner. Where is your license?

My hair was 14 inches, but then I wanted to cut it into a pixie cut, for a while I really liked it, but now I'm kinda wishing I didn't cut it so short, so this was really helpful, and I'm glad I was able to find something like this.

Same. Mine was about 20". I got it cut shorter than Pink's! Shaved in back and sides...took 2 looks to see my mother's face, and it HAD to go. Been about 2 cuts (just shaping) since the super short cut, and it is growing out beautifully. I had a pixie about 10 years ago and was the WORST GROWOUT in History, I am sure. God what she did to my hair-she was razoring it!!! Awful. Anyway, your cuts will grow out so fast, if you don't look in the mirror at it ALL THE TIME! That is a pro-tip right there. Step AWAY from reflective surfaces...

I really appreciate you sharing these tips. I cut my hair 2 years ago and donated it to a group of amazing ladies in California that make hair PIECES for cancer patients and survivors. So I do not regret cutting my hair, but I have now made it my mission to grow my hair out so that I can donate my hair again. Trims don’t technically make your hair grow faster. It just gets rid of the split ends and breakage, so it’ll seem like your hair is growing faster, since you’re no longer losing length due to breakage. It doesn’t actually affect hair growth speeds, unfortunately. 🙁

Trims don't help ur hair grow faster but if ur ends are damaged it cuts the dead ends off so it's not constantly staying at the same length because it keeps snapping off.

Zoe Small this^^ plus your probably better to take care of yourself drink more water certain veggies and stuff are full of vitamins that help hair skin and nails I'm not sure if the multivitamins help but more of this will help I find trims just help me cope with the awkward stages because they neaten it up.

Samantha Hopkins, yes veggies and water will help with the goodness in them, and multivitamins will help but only if taken consistently. I do trim my hair as growing layers out , it does look better with the awkward stages of growth.

Zoe Small trimming your hair does help it grow, faster and healthier. You don’t get it cut u just get the split ends trimmed. If u have split ends it takes longer for ur hair to grow. There are legit studies that prove all if this.

I'm up to 2 years and 1 month of my hair update: I used to have really long hair 2 years and 1 month ago until I cut it to a bob. Then I grew my hair to where it is up to now. In just 1 year my hair was getting closer to waist length. Now it's getting closer to my Butt crack December 2nd 2016: Bob hair cut ( I had hip length hair then I cut it to a bob) February 2017: My hair is nearing my armpits June 2017: My hair is now mid back length September - December 2017: It's getting closer to my waist (lower back length) 2018 February - March 2018: My hair is at waist length May - June 2018: Nearing hip length (getting past my waist) September - November 2018: Really long now (Hips) December 2018 - Now: My hair is now getting closer to Butt crack

Try putting some nice smelling baby powder on the towel that you dry your hair with. The more you wash it the more oils are stripped then your hair tries to compensate by produsing more oil.

I had hip length hair and I got a pixie cut 2 months ago.. My hair growth is fast.. Very fast compared to anyone I've ever known.. Its already ear length.. I have naturally oily hair like no matter what trick I found it still look like I struck oil...and also I tried but honestly all I did was stop blow drying my hair everyday let it air dry everyday and now my hair laying off my shoulders now (: my cousin who is a professional hairstylist was impressed with how my hair grew healthy and no mullet phase :D

That's weird... Very lucky you then. Because the average rate or speed of hair growth is about 1.25 centimetres or 0.5 inches per month, so that's only about 15 centimetres or 6 inches per year. When starting with a pixie, it's first all about levelling up the front with the back, to get a short bob, this takes quite long depending on how short your pixie was on the sides and front. The first year is the most awkward when growing it out, certainly when you want to keep it need in the meantime, not looking like some hobo (mullet = no go).

Honestly, get trims. I try to wait 10 weeks and just dust the ends. I had an awesome stylist who helped me grow out my hair. Aaand castor oil really does help. Massage it into scalp leave on a couple of hours or overnight if possible. I noticed a significant amount of hair growth in 2 1/2 months. And yet here I am again I cut it but shoulder length only thank God. This length makes me feel like a little girl ugh.

I have had a pixie for the last 4yrs, other than the one time I grew it back out. I cut it again last year around this time, then I let it grow out into a bob, then I shaved the side of my head, AND THEENNNNN I grew out the side cut and got a pixie. Thank goodness, while I have the mullet thing going I can cover it because the top part of my hair is longer. Yay. Plus I can tie my hair back now. Haven't cut my hair since last summer. I waiting until then to do it. Only wash my hair 1 to 2 times a week. Then again I've been doing that for years so I'm used to that.

Loved this video! Thanks for sharing about your pixie cut journey. I got a pixie cut 2 months ago and IMMEDIATELY regretted it!! I miss my long hair every day! So I am interested in what you said about micro bead extensions! Would love to hear more from you about those and if you know how to do them yourself. I was told that extensions might not work for me because I have really short hair, but I am determined to make some work- I miss my long hair so much. Thanks!!!

Just shave your head if you get a bad pixie cut!! Best experience I ever had. Even if you don’t end up liking it, it’s liberating to wake up and not have to worry about your hair. Plus it will grow completely healthy and you can see the way your hair grows throughout all of the stages. I’ve been growing out my hair for six months and I can’t wait to keep on going

I had a long pixie in April 2023 (I cut it because I didn’t want to be seen in a weird way or seen as an object) but I soon realised I shouldn’t care what others think and go for what makes me happy (it’s not my fault if others see me as an object) and it’s about halfway down my neck now 3 months later :) ❤

She says that heat products slow the growth process? I'm a hairdresser and that's is definitely not true. It's the heat TOOLS that hurt you. You NEED heat products because if you don't then of course it'll break and damage your hair. Also trims WILL help! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get your hair trimmed. When hair is damaged or "splitting" it can split all the way up to the root and break off. Getting those ends cut off will help the hair not split and not break off - thus allowing it to grow

in october 2013 i got a bob hair cut, it was at my chin. not long after i decided to grow it out. i stopped washing it as often (twice a week), not coloring it as much, and only coloring it darker when i do, deep conditioning once a week, and an oil after the shower and daily on the ends. started paying attention to the ingredients on my shampoo and wont use anything with sulfates. and rarely use heat on my hair. it has been almost 3 years since i got my hair cut, i havent even gotten a trim, and its grown out to the middle of my back

So, I am going to grow hair shoulder length the 1.5 years from now when I turn 60, go short and grey, yeah! No more hair color (35 years of it, prematurely greyed in my 20's), yipieeee!

Check out my more recent hair growth journey. I grew out shaving my head from being bald to where I’m at now with zero haircuts so I totally went through the mullet stage. In my hair growth journey I did monthly updates with hairstyles I was doing for each length my hair was at. Hope it helps you and quarantine is the best time to grow out the unwanted mullet ❤️👍🏼✨

cut my hair in a pixie three years ago and have been growing out ever since. Its finally to the middle of my back. What helped me grow it out and save my hair was using extensions. I wear tape in's and it really helped me grow it out. I wish my hair was thick so I still wear tape in's.

Hey girl, I'm your new sub. Basically, i cut my hair A LOT. I just cut my hair reallly short, and i am a hairdresser student, sooo watching this video helps me, but also wants me to tell you that colouring your hair only damages the hair thats outside your scalp. Inside the hair genes and hairsockets arent changed or damaged. Its just on the outide. Hair still grows just as fast as usually, u just only see a colour difference witch aint looking always nice hahab
