Ever wonder how to get your own String of Hearts plant for absolutely free? Join me as I share my tips and tricks on how I propagated this String of Hearts from a tiny, dried-up vine, to a growing plant full of beautiful heart shaped leaves! I found this broken vine on the ground of my local nursery and after asking them if I could take it for free, they were okay with me trying my hand at reviving it.
String of Hearts is a very easy-care plant that can be easily propagated in a number of mediums. In today's video, I used damp sphagnum moss (amzn.to/3z0THU9) to reanimate this plant, and wake it up to grow new roots, leaves, and vining branches. It was so happy, it even grew little tuber roots!
As always, I love talking to you all in the comments and I'm always happy to answer any questions you may have about plants, propagating and more.

Yes! There isn't a lot of change since I made the video, but once the weather gets warmer I think they will explode in growth.

It’s unbelievable how that dried out vine came back to life.

I Find it easy to separate roots and Peet moss using on or two forks (depending how many hands you have to work with). Lifting up the small “babies” would be easy too. Thanks! Really appreciate your video!

I just found a string of hearts cutting in the wild yesterday so this video was right on time. Perhaps you can create a series of children's gardening videos with your helper and her fairy 🧚‍♀️ (this would be so cute!) and a regular series for those who want to get to the point with thr plant and prop info.

Yay for serendipity! Hope this video helps in your propagation journey, it's such a fun plant to propagate with very satisfying results. And yes, good point, perhaps a separate fairy garden series is in order.

I just propogated some of my variegated string of hearts in a takeout container and sphagnum and it rooted like crazy and made babies in 2 weeks! I am still waiting on the turtles I put in with mine too. Those tiny turtles on the ends always snap off so I find myself with bits of those propogating constantly!

Awesome! It’s funny because my Hearts were much slower than my Turtles, but you’re right, they’re always breaking off, so I also end up with a ton of propagations.
