one of my favorite things about this channel is that Kit doesn’t do an obnoxious youtuber voice at the beginning he just speaks softly, shows us the funny content and then tells us we matter before ending the video

"I can't remember why I was talking to you, but you're nice." I had a big laugh at the stereotypical forgetful old person trope. ...and then felt horrible as you realize the implications of what that statement is and the scammer just guides her back into the scam.

All jokes aside, as someone who works at target and always checks for scammers, knowing that they’re targeting Target more, just helps me not forget to ask people when buying gift cards. So thank you.

The fact that the scammer was going along with casual conversation and seemed almost charismatic at the beginning while scamming an "old lady with dementia" makes this even scarier

You should put a fan by you, set it to oscilate, and just go on like normal. The wind from the fan constantly hits the mic every like 10 seconds, I find when people are in windy places and on the phone, its extremely annoying not only to hear them but trying to understand what they are saying. Bonus points for wind chimes like its an old lady out on her porch

I'm well into my recovery now and doing better than I ever thought I could, but I spent years fighting daily against depression, anxiety, and a sense of hopelessness about life. Hearing those little messages at the end is just another tiny reminder of how wonderful things can be, and how I deserve to love myself. Your videos actually saved me from a scam. I've been trying for a remote job and got "seen" on Indeed by someone claiming all the goodies that should have made me realize this wasn't real. Remote, $28 an hour, fulltime but I can chose 30 to 40 hours. I was suspicious from the beginning but I'm always anxious and tried to, for once, stop letting my anxiety get the better of me. What a mistake. Researched the company, the 'hiring director' I was talking to. They all existed and seemed real. Then they said I'd need materials (printer, scanner, programs, and time tracker) and, you guessed it, they'd send me a check to purchase it all. Well I'm getting more nervous I remember your videos search on Reddit if this is normal and got told immediately that DUH, of course it isn't! Check came In, called the bank it was from, confirmed this $4,982 something check was fraudulent and cried for two days straight. I'm sure they would have noticed their "mistake" and requested I send them the difference back and been out like $9,000 after the check bounced. I had already told my partner and we were so happy planning for Christmas gifts, bills, groceries, a new non-broken couch so I felt even more mortified and sad to tell them we had to scrap everything. But it truly could have been much worse. Thanks for doing this work.
