Let me help you guys out with this. Get a rolling pin and roll your calves out where you find the knots...and you will find them right quick. within a week or two your feet will quit hurting. I advise to continue your stretches, but the pin is what is going to get the job done. Your welcome.

Mine was so bad I had to have surgery on both heels. I tried the cortisone injections (very painful) and weeks of physical therapy prior to deciding on the surgery. My podiatrist recommended New Balance shoes at the time. Anything from 800 series and above. This was before memory foam inserts. New Balance shoes were actually designed by a group of podiatrists. I also had Kevlar inserts made for my shoes. One of the strengthening exercises was to pick marbles off the floor with your toes. My therapist was shocked that I could easily pick up the marbles. I told him I’m a mom and if I had to bend down to pick up toys all the time I would have a bad back too lol. Icing my arch and heel helped so I kept a couple bottles of water in the freezer and then I would roll the bottle under my foot as needed. Stretching exercises are definitely a big help. I hope your feet keep heeling!

Thanks Christine! I started watching your channel for the food (I'm feeding a family of 5) and I became hooked on the fitness. This video is really helpful, from both a practical and morale perspective. I'm a hiker not a runner, and I've been dealing with PF for the past 2 or 3 years. I took this summer off to let it heal and it has been soul-sucking. Even taking the kids to the beach was too much. I'm about to start putting some miles in again and I'm debating about footwear. I've found that insoles, even PF specific ones, inflame my feet rather than help, so i'm going insole-less until I can find another comfortable trail shoe. Inclines and uneven terrain are the worst for me so I'll be sticking to paved paths for now. I know youre back to racing again now so this video gave me great hope. Thank you, again, for sharing this!

I had gotten 2 steroid shots, night splint and walking boot for plantar fasciitis. My husband was shopping for work boots so in my 9th month in the walking boot I decided while he was looking I would try on shoes. Nurses wear Dansko shoes all the time so that's where I started. I was getting plantar fasciitis pain even in the walking boot. I did 3 laps inside the store with a pair of Dansko's that tie with absolute no pain. I'm still wearing those shoes 3 years later and my feet are starting to tell me it's time for a new pair.

I can't thank you enough. I have been suffering with this along with many other ailments. I'm not 100% sure it's the same issue . It really affects the top of my foot above my toes and my toes. It's so painful. Noting but standing or keeping it stiff relieves the pain. It hits when I sit and try to lay down. If I sleep on my stomach on the sofa and have my foot stretched out it helps.

I've had this several times, and it's m i s e r a b l e. One time was so bad I had to crawl for two days, as I could put NO weight on it. (I'm very overweight, which I'm sure made it worse). Thankfully, I am in a period where I have gone longer than I can remember without it YAY! I don't know what caused it for me, but resting it definitely helped. I feel for you, it must be difficult to try to do what you're doing on it! Best wishes for a quick recovery! :)

I’ve been dealing with PF for about two years. I have found that stopping mid walk/run and doing calf raises and stretches really helps. Especially if you can do them off the edge of a curb. Also the Dr Scholls PF inserts are amazing! I was told to get those and memory foam slippers for the house and to never go barefoot. All these things together have finally gotten me to the point where I can walk/Run three times a week. I used to do it 5-6x a week. That was part of the issue, over training and not giving myself at least one rest day in between.

Hi! Have you tried electro therapy for plantar fasciitis? They have like a gun or some other tool that they put on the heel and it sends shock waves or electrical signals through the heel.

Interesting you said being barefoot felt better. Have you ever tried minimalist/barefoot shoes? Some argue what we call normal shoes actually make our feet weak and cause injuries like PF etc..... I dealt with plantar fasciitis for 2 years as well try to every solution under the sun now using zero drop and barefoot shoes I am feeling much much better. I will note I had to get a cortisone shot in my heel and that stopped the pain and it has not come back since switching to minimalist barefoot shoes

How do you transition to barefoot shoes? My job requires me to stand 8 hours a day. I'm wearing Hokas but they do bottom out after a few hours.

Don’t you have a video where you mention Oofos shoes for plantar fasciitis? I wear Sacony running shoes and am thinking of trying Brooks but those flip flop/slide Oofos looked comfortable! Thanks

Isn't this pretty similar to as stretching your calfs like before and after a run, but will try your method too! Thanks. Just to say that my feet have been feeling so much better, after not putting in so much work on my feet (aka. sitting) most of the time and giving your leg a lot of rest.

I started noticing pain probably around February every time I worked out and it kept getting worse and worse. Turns out it's plantar fasciitis, crap. It started going away and hasn't bothered me for at least a week, but I made the mistake of doing a high incline walk on the treadmill last night - omg the pain! I think if I swear off the treadmill completely for the summer and only use the elliptical (which doesn't bother it at all) hopefully I'll be on the mend. I might look into the Sketchers too.

I started running by just getting out and walking. I’d pick a street sign or stop sign and run to that. Walk. Pick another landmark in the distance and run to that. I’d do that over and over until I was pooped out. Over a few weeks I could easily run to the signs and past them. A few weeks later I could run about 2 miles without stopping. Make sure you watch videos on good form and do not heel strike. Land in your heel. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing! I dev PF within the last year and I’ve never had it before. It’s almost gone now thank goodness but I can relate to literally thinking would anyone notice if I didn’t wear shoes? Lol Btw have you heard of chi running? If you haven’t- check it out. It might help.

I am 100 pounds 9ver weight and my heels started hurting then my heels and I am trying to figure out how to deal with this issuse. It was nice to see someone fit having feet problems so it isn't just a fat skinny issue. I have flat feet do you? I wonder if that don't help. I started wearing cooper fit insoles I don't know if they are helping my ankles don't hurt. My heel does some. But my arch hurts with them. I have worn they 3 days. Before I went bare foot 90% of the time. I am a over pronatior. Any suggestions would be great thanks

Thanks for the post on plantar fasciitis. I think mine came on in September. I was trying to just ignore it, but I now know, that I was making it a lot worse. Rolling my foot on things only aggravated mine too. I bought insoles for all of my shoes including hiking boots. That was the key for me. That and trying to take it a little easier and not aggravate it. My husband bought me a really good pair of Brooks running shoes back in December. Excellent. I have healed quite a bit, but still need to be cautious not to back track. The toe exercises look good.

I could write a book on plantar fasciitis over three years from an injury ! Some barefoot movement helps speed up and activate healing the secret is not over doing anything but under doing is just as bad ! what also works is wearing many types of shoes with orthotics and without and plenty of rest but not too much it’s unlike most injuries but there’s hope just think every time you overdo it it creates a healing effect!
@giangnguyen8344
@giangnguyen8344 6 месяцев назад
What do you mean by barefoot movements? Please elaborate, I got PFfrom walking out of bed one morning 3 years ago and it's still not completely gone.
@darylhill9400
@darylhill9400 6 месяцев назад
@@giangnguyen8344 basically what I’m referring to is going barefoot or minimal shoes and articulating the foot, but just not overdoing it, stressing to create adaptation without creating more injury! I also like to wear very supportive shoes or boots after going barefoot! It’s tricky! Try and see if you notice a difference! I experimented a lot and noticed when I did very aggressive massage it would hurt like hell but always felt way better a couple days down the road
