This is the perfect way to do a video! One of the very best I've seen. Here's why. 1. You start talking immediately with no ridiculous intro. 2. The lighting is good and the camera is stable on a tri-pod. 3. The sound is good and the mic doesn't pick up breathing sounds and movement sounds. 4. No wasted time on transitions or unnecessary stories. 5. Just good, educational information, communicated in an easy to comprehend manner.
his videos are by far the best videos on the subject. Based on this information I have gotten myself back to walking. Switching to flat shoes and avoiding my toes being squished together was a huge part if it. In the beginning I also used tape to keep my arch raised which allowed me to start walking again.
@@freeheelpainhelp Very good video and it shows that you know the subject, thank you for sharing your knowledge and this excellent information Regarding Morton's syndrome, I only knew that it was when the second toe is longer than the first, but I didn't know what caused problems. Now thanks to this video understand why I suffer from pain in my lower back and feet, especially my heels. I would like more information on how to treat these problems and all the other problems caused by morton's syndrome and especially how to solve them, I don't know anything you mentioned about vitamin B6 and P5P Thanks and you have a👍🏻
wow, I developed a severe case of plantar fasciitis where there was a tear. I went to an excellent doctor that pointed out that toe longer than my big toe. Just saying. I did more research and I got spacers to wear to spread my feet. I will work on, keeping my pelvis neutral. I have advanced to barefoot shoes. I’m just wondering if he could do a video on what type of shoes he suggests
This is not even remotely true. It is a great video and I agree that he is very intelligent, but knowing a lot about one subject does not come distantly close to knowing a lot about many subjects. For example, any orthopedic surgeon has undergone 4 years of very rigorous medical school training, followed by at least 5 years of strenuous residency, so that they not only have learned much more than this about plantar fasciitis, but the rest of issues that can plague the foot, as well as the ankle, the knee, the hip, and on up the body, as well as how to operate on those diseases. It's arrogant to assume that you know the depth of a physician's knowledge or training, when you certainly do not. Everyone presumes that they themselves could be a doctor (and typically have some great explanation as to why they chose not to be one), but the fact is that the vast majority of applicants do not get accepted to medical school. Better to just say that it's a very helpful video by an articulate young man with (probably) a bright future; your ignorance of medical training doesn't need to be displayed in the comments, regardless of some perceived bad experience you've had with a physician (or physicians) in the past.
Doctors have theoretical knowledge. They also have huge amounts of info to filter, and frequently are unaware of this kind of practical down-to--earth (haha) problem solving. I got an MRI! that was such a waste. My doctor is a nice lady, but this is why I see her once every 5 years or so. There is more and better info on youtube.
@@jt5845 john t get a life nobody is here trying to listen to your longwinded version of how 4 years of med school is this and that. you should of just stopped at wow very helpful video. and knowing alot about many things doesn't come distantly close to be good at explaining 1 thing which most M.D'S ARE HORRIBLE AT so cudos to this young man.
@@jt5845. If doctors know so much they should pass some of that helpful knowledge onto us. They move us through like cattle, rarely listen to us and prescribe expensive, needless tests and drugs. This video was much longer and much more helpful than most doctor visits I've had. All the knowledge in the world doesn't help anyone if you don't pass it along. A good doctor is like finding a needle in the haystack.
This fellow is one of those rare people that does not need to graduate with a degree or Phd to understand concepts and communicate them clearly and effectively.
Be sure to check out my heel pain help website at: www.pfsurvivalguide.com I hope this video helps! :) heel pain is not fun! Also be sure to share this video with your friends.
I'm in the midst of the worst bout of PF I've ever had, in addition to a healing broken toe. I'm in so much pain, but finding this video has been seminal for me! I didn't know about excessive pronation or how to keep my feet stretched and healthy. I also realize I have Morton's toe, and have been trying EVERYTHING to figure out why I feel so broken-down and awful 90% of the time, when I was a yoga-practicing, slim, healthy-eating and active woman just a few years ago. I've been diagnosed with everything from CFS to fibromyalgia to allergies to leaky gut, but nothing explained my consistent bone and joint pain and problems. YOU should be a healthcare practitioner! You have a knack for explanation, demonstration and information!
OMG, you seriously need to become a foot MD! growing up,my parents spent A LOT of money for good shoes for my brother and I....the shoe Maker's of today (last 30-40 yrs) make horrible shoes! I haven't been able to get a great pair of shoes with arch support for idk how long! we need better shoe Maker's! I never knew about "Morton's Toe"! I have had that to all my life! I was told it was called "Greek Toe". also, the reference to being a ballet dancer....I was!18yrs! holy cow! your so so so smart!!! seriously need to be an MD! you have a great gift!
A lot of people now, including, I think, the author of this video, advise against arch supports in shoes. Part of the rationale that's usually given is that a strong arch doesn't need support, so your objective should be to strengthen your arches through exercise. But also, as he says here, the foot arch is malleable. It goes from tightening to slightly collapsing as you walk - something arch support would inhibit. Try barefoot shoes - shoes with a flat sole and little or no cushioning, such as Softstars, Lems or Xero Shoes. I wear Softstars and Xero Shoes sandals and I really think it's the only way to start walking properly because it lets you feel how you're foot is landing on the ground and springing off it. When you get it right, walking becomes a great pleasure.
@@timyatcak3292 Why is he a clown? He’s pretty knowledgeable. I already know most of this stuff, but he is certainly very helpful, and one of the few who actually understands the problem with modern footwear.
I don't know what your experience and training are, but this is one of the best plantar systemic impact videos I've ever seen, explaining how other connected body systems impact PF.
Bro. You covered EXACTLY what’s been bothering me. Anterior pelvic tilt, tight calves, plantar fasciitis. You hit the nail on the head. I’ve been suffering from PF for years and seen almost every video about it. This by far has been the most helpful! I’m going to apply this and try to rid myself once and for all of PF. Thank you so much!
It’s because us we age we sitting to much! Ihad many Times Burnout from mopping in my Job at Macys! And in 2008 us the Bank Crash was, needed to worke for them,I lastet 2 Years, they exchanged workers every 3 Month! They take Investment Money out automatically from there Paycheck and keep them us they let them go!A Bad Place to work for!
Great demonstration of musculoskeletal mechanics. Now I understand why switching completely to Vibram 5 finger shoes cured my plantar fasciitis gradually over a period of 3 months. I had PF for 10 years, with flare-ups 3 or 4 times a year, controlled each time by stretching. but then the stretching just didn't work any more. that's when I switched (gradually, over a few months, then all the time, which is when the PF cure happened). Withthe Vibram 5 finger shoes the toes are spread, the shoe is flat, the foot muscles are engaged, the calf muscle and soleus are stretched. For 4 years now, I have had no PF flare-ups....a cure!
Chuck Selden ... I’ve had pf for over ten years to and got bad flare up due to stomach surgery which has changed the way I walk, sounds odd I know but my feet and my bottom muscles are really complaining ... I had never heard of these vibram 5 finger shoes but I am researching ... thank you 🙏
exactly my analogy is, glasses are accustomed to the patients needs and every 1-2 years eyes require an update or a check up and this analogy should be implemented for footwear as here I am about to qualify as a podiatrist and I to believe it is patient perceptions and as a profession we should push for more custom made footwear designed specifically for each foot similar to glasses. each lens has its own unique prescription designed for the eye to work at its optimum. however as podiatrists not a lot of public understand or know what we do or do not see us as fit to do such a thing when actually the stuff we learn as medical professionals we are the most suited and evidenced based regarding the foot and lower limbs.
I'm a Nurse and I must say this is the best P.F. explanation I've ever seen. My feet are completely flat and I have severe P.F., arthritis in my toes and at least one heel spur. I've never seen anyone have as difficult time finding a shoe that is comfortable enough to work 8 hrs in. I wear a wide toe box but have to have a thick sole for cushioning. I have webbing between 2nd and 3rd toes. And much pain in 3rd and 4th toes...some sort of neuralgia.
I know this video is a few years old, but you just described what happened with my new pair of Hokas and developing plantar fasciitis not more than two weeks afterwards perfectly. I have excessive pronation and hip instability from years of bad posture and habits, and it’s been very painful to try to get out of this. Your videos are so invaluable and I really appreciate this one in particular
This is the first time I’ve ever heard the connection between Morton’s toe and B6! I have MT and PF and nerve and muscle pain issues. I actually take P5P but not consistently. I really had no idea there was a connection. But I’m definitely going to do more research. Thank you! Also for all the great info!
This young kid is smarter then the Drs.. Great job.. I fully understand everything you said to correct my tight hip flexors caused from sitting all day as a Tractor Trailer driver. Well done sir. Well done..
@@timyatcak3292 Where in this video did he talk about snake oil treatments? 😂🤡. Dude shut up! You're talking out of your asshole. You aren't helping ANYBODY with the attitude and stupid comments you write. You're just a keyboard jelly asshat mad at this guy that has pure knowledge. You envy him and wish you were as smart.
I am super duper late watching this video, but thank you. Wow, i have learned so much. I called me mother who has been a nurse for over 30 years and reiterated some of the information to her. She was blown away! nicely done. It seems like you covered everything that i have been experiencing. you are a light!
Great video bruh, perfect anatomy knowledge. This shows that you don't need to go to uni or any other bs or have a degree to help people and explain their problems. I'm hard into health, anatomy and body movements because I had a lot of issues that I was born with and developed. This video even tough me some valuable stuff I didn't know. Thank you fam and keep doing what you are doing !
I love your full explanation of the body and foot connection. You've just explained my whole body motion or lack of in which covered everything I've been going through for 6yrs and 7 months of planters fasciitis. Thanks now i just need to find the right exercises.
Love your enthusiasm with posting these videos regularly, I learn new things every time. Thank you. We noticed that my partner has one morton's toe- just by 1mm or 2mm, but he hasn't got any issues yet other than tight shoulders!
This is the BEST video on this subject I have ever seen! I have Morton's toe and never heard of the B6 deficiency! I know I'm deficient in B12 and D3. Thank you! I have suffered with plantar fasciitis for 20 years, in one foot or the other! OMG how informative!- and you are SO young! But SO knowledgeable!! Amazing!!
I am a rehabilitation massage therapist and personally suffering from lots of different injuries on my spine, legs and feet. Doctors in UK NEVER NEVER cared about giving me proper therapy for my injuries, I worked on my body as much as I knew alone. This guy perfectly explains what is all about. Doctors will never give you that much of their time to explain it to you what is going with you and why. Big THANK YOU !
I’ve been dealing with PF for about a year now. I’ve seen a doctor twice and all they did was tell me my calves were too tight (which was true), prescribed me some steroids, and gave me over the counter orthopedics. This is by far the best explanation I’ve seen so far. Thanks!!!
When video started honestly I was wondering weather it's worth watching a young kid talk on PF..but this is the best explanation anyone could get . Very clean audio visual..thanks so much for the video. Extremely helpful.
Euh .. i didnt listen the first words he says cause of his hypnotic eyes..who else felt the same ..he's a doll seriously..then I listened and yes young clever better explanation ever..bravo 👏🏼
As a nurse I didn't even know this was the root cause of this. My husband's suffered with this so long so I can't wait to get him started on this process. He's tried about everything so far with no luck. Thank you so so much for sharing this and making it easy for those not aware of how or what certain medical terms are. It's very easy to follow.
I bet your man would be very mad if he read your comment to that young man about his eyes. But you know what though???? You're beautiful!!! I see you cutie😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Thank you! I just found out that my daughter has Overpronation and Plantar Fasciitis. She is 10 years old and has had this problem since she was a baby. She wore custom soles in her shoes for a year and we thought it was fixed. What would your recommendations be?
Well spoken. Probably the best articulated and most informative video I've seen on this topic. Very helpful, thanks. I might want to add one remedy that you hadn't touched on which is night splints. Keeping the foot out at a 90 degree angle throughout your sleep time is an additional treatment that can work wonders in replenishing the facia. Great video
Oh LAWD.. I have been to podiatrists and been researching for so long.. "go barefoot, wear orthodics, double cushion, do not use supports, rest foot, stretch foot, heat, ice, massage, soak, elevate, these shoes, those shoes, wrap, don't wrap.. but I have tried so many things.. and what works one day is perfect evil the next day. I am sooo tired.. I just wanna RUN LIKE THE WIND once again!
I can run.. but by the end of the run and into the next 2-3 days afterwards.. I cannot even touch the heel of the foot to the floor. It didn't used to be this bad.. going for PT and some electrotherapy thing tomorrow.. Hopefully it will help!
You could try looking into Dr. John Sarno and TMS. Maybe also try some Feldenkrais Technique. Lots of videos about both on RU-vid, including some by a guy called Alfons specifically on Feldenkrais for the feet. No stretching and virtually no risk of making your pain worse, I'd have thought. It's very gentle. Good luck!
Please help me. I have a LOT of excessive pronation. I have tried exercises but none have helped. should I consider surgery? The surgery I am interested places a stent inside my ankle that prevents it from overpronating.
Wow, this video was so much of a dose of reality for me that I had to pause the video a couple times and just let myself come to terms with it. Great explanations, great look at so many root causes of this condition. Searching around for what was causing a lot of my issues upstairs, brought me to discovering this excessive pronation. Looking at the causes, I never stood a chance. Many life changes coming soon.
WOW! So knowledgeable... I've been having an issue with my foot and seen four doctors to date. Great video, to the point, moves along perfectly and so informative. Thank you beautiful man!
I have never been given information on this to were I could truly understand it I will be watching this video a hundred times if I have to I am determined to get better and be without pain. Can you tell me if my knee pain and lower back pain are related to this because I didn't have either until I started dealing with this issue. I also have top of the foot pain and currently have a hard time buying any shoes that doesn't aggregation both conditions
This was excellent! Thank you for sharing your expertise with all. I had PF 10 years ago; and I like to keep aware of how to forever prevent another occurrence.
Bro this person explains better than doctors. I had to watch 10 vids to get the same info. Plus more. Thanks for mention your feet being a little outward is normal and still healthy. I've been trying my feet and pointing them straight forward especially when sitting is very tiresome. Thanks a lot you are helping lives!
I am a physical therapist and my biggest struggle is treating this injury. People get their shoe soles adjusted but usually that does not help. I find most of the posture problems mentioned in this video, but it's hard to get rid of the irritation
Wow. Impressive. It's obvious that you have the medical knowledge and experience in this area. You appear so young... The concepts flow without hesitation like you live and breathe this stuff! If you aren't in the medical field you certainly have a promising career in the medical sciences dealing with body geometry or motion. Like others have said, I've watched many videos and read many articles, but none even come close to this concise and thorough explanation. Thank you for your time.
You are wise beyond your years. Very well spoken, you are a great teacher. Thank you for the information, hopefully it will help my aching feet. I have to wear steeltoe shoes at work and I'm walking on concrete floors all day. 😭I'm trying everything in your videos. 🙏🙌
I’m so confused. I was told not to walk, and to stretch the big toe up to release tension. They even sell a strap that holds toe up at night. Yiu say don’t streatch toe up ware flat shoe and walk? Are you sure?
Dude, who in the world are you anyway? This is the absolute best explanation of anything in healthcare that I have ever heard in my entire life and I’m an old man. Thank you for that I wish you the very best in your life.
This is very helpful for me. I have been fighting chronic PF for the past five years. I walk my dog a LOT and most of that is on a cement sidewalk. I do not sit all day, I am very active and I have taken PT four times. I also excessively pronate, How then do we limit this pronation? Shoes? Custom orthotics? I am wearing Keen shoes (they have a wide toe box) and I have custom orthotics What else can I do?.
Hi, thank you so much for this video. I identified the shoes that caused me this injury, weirdly I only wore them two different days in a row for job interviews, amazing how fast and injury can occur. That being said, I have a pair of moccasins that have no insole and that are Suede and allow my feet to walk as though I'm Barefoot, would it be a good suggestion for me to wear these for the time being while I am doing these other exercises etc. to heal?
What a great video, so well done, and very informative. I just loved it. I wish I knew about this years ago. I could have saved myself a lot of pain. Thank you so much for posting this. I'm going to see if you have other videos to check out also.
You sir are a wizard. The entire medical establishment is focussed on palliative treatments rather than root cause. This video is a brilliant exercise in detective work intoroot cause - I salute u seriously and hope more people can do what you are doing. I saw the Morton the explanation and the pad idea in the book by Claire reviews which is also brilliant. It’s counter intuitive as people what Roland what hurts I.e the 2nd toe but by doing that they are exacerbating the problem. I am a fan and have subscribed. When you have gotten bored with this please get interested in other ailments 😊 as your approach is fantastic. Thank you.
I have a bunion that makes my big toe sit on top of my second toe so I will get some of those toe spreaders and see if that helps with my pf. Excellent video ☺ Thankyou 👍 💜
I searched high and low for the explanations for why I have the condition.... And here I found it. None of the videos by the "professionals" on quick fix helped me understand the condition better than him.... Thanks 👍
Great video! I think my PF started when I bought this pair of shoes which didn't have enough support on the instep therefore causing the pronation. I was only able to figure it out by watching your video. Goodbye shoes. Thanks so much.
I'm 19 and I suffer from this. Thank you so much for this video. I skate everyday with a broken shoe, now I see exactly what caused this crazy pain in my arch and heel. Thank you so much!
You are so adorable! You gave me more information in one video than I have gotten from the previous 10 put together on this subject! This was a huge help in my understanding of my foot pain and what I need to do for recovery! Keep up the great work!
THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR VIDEO !! I LEFT A MESSAGE ON YOUR VIDEO ABOUT ME WORKING IN A HOSPITAL AS A NURSE AND HAVING FOOT PAIN AT TIMES BUT FORGOT TO TELL YOU I HAD A KNEE REPLACEMENT AND DOES NOT HELP WHEN I AM RUSHING AROUND ,, I FEEL I AM SWAYING BACK IN FORTH DOWN THE HALLWAY.. RUSH RUSH.. ITS TIME TO TAKE CARE OF ME TOOO!! I AM 60YR.S...
Wow. This explains why I have much more pain and drama in both the plantar fascia and the arch area in the foot with a bunion. Thank you so much for this video.
Thank you, I've learned more in this one video than watching at least 12 videos that were from 5 to 15minutes long, Thank you again and keep them coming. Godbless
@potato-dt7se I actually do not remember since my comment was like 4 yrs old. But I can tell you that I decided to invest in OMEGA WALK shoes with arch support. Since then I have not had a problem any more.
I'm a medical professional and have this Morton's toe. This is the 1st I have ever heard of it and I think it might be related to issues I have had going back as far as my childhood
The only person who can tell about the pain is the one who had it and cured. Your explanation totally make sense better than those doctors i visited. Thank you man
I absolutely love the way you speak I love the tone of your voice and I really appreciate this in-depth description of why I have plantar fasciitis!! Never heard it before, and couldn't be more grateful! I'm having surgery next month and I never ever ever want this to come back It is so so painful!!
At first I was like- “oh please, what do you know, you’re like 10” then you started talking and I was like “OMG, how is he so knowledgeable and articulated, he’s like 10” 😂 . You look so young and I am legitimately impressed. Thanks for sharing your knowledge so well.
Leslie Pomales I started reading your comment and thought you must be a teenage girl, judging by how u feel the need to like, use the word ‘Like.’ Do u always construct sentences how u like, speak?
Hi! I suffer of plantar fasciitis since 2012. Your videos are very interesting. They are helping me. Where do I buy the toes device? What is the Nike model you show in video saying that they are good shoes? Thanks so much and continues with this great work.
Thanks so much for the information on Morton's Toe. I have PF and Morton's Toe. I never made the connection between the two. If you have a good source for information on Morton's Toe could you please link it? This could be ground breaking for my PF treatment. Thanks again for all of your help. You are the best!
No way!! Yes will be interesting to see how you respond to mortons toe treatment. Also look into the mortons toe and p5p connection. Really curious to see how you respond :)
Sorry to disagree but as a flat footed overweight individual, flat shoes are absolutely awful and they really hurt my plantar fasciitis. I find that i have to wear running shoes with an arch support or I simply can't walk
Same here Adam Ford. But I got no relief until I strengthened my feet and corrected my posture. The arch support and inserts were temporary relief and support, meanwhile the muscles in my feet were getting weaker. It has been a gradual process but I kid you not, it’s well worth it. I still take walks with flat shoes just to build my feet strength, because I don’t naturally wear flat shoes from the years of plantar fasciitis torture.
Wow! The amount of information given in this video is light years ahead of any other video. Thank you so much. I’m beginning my plantar fasciitis recovery tonight.
