In one of your previous vids you walked by Low n Slow and I could see it was loaded up with something...didn't recognize it as firewood though. Good thinking Mike, a proper way to put one of your toys to good use...
if you keep your logs in the field, you might want to think about putting a gravel driveway down there to keep you from sinking. also to help with the delivery of the logs. great video Mike
That's a great system that you have set up for cutting your firewood . The main thing that it would do to your tractor, is if you tried to pack each tote full of wood up to your wood shed instead of loading it on Low-n- Slow, it is hard on your front wheel bearings and components on the front of your tractor. I have seen them bust, hauling heavy loads over a long distance, one load right after another, bouncing around and over loaded. Do you have the hot water pipes running back and forth in the concrete floor of your garage or does the hot water run into a radiator and then a fan blow the heat off inside of duct work and then is distributed out of vents in different locations. I have had experience with boilers heating buildings both ways. Another good video, see you in another future video. So be careful and stay safe and keep on working on the trucks. As always, Jeffrey !!!
Your tractor is fine. Just watch the lift capacity and use some rear weight if you need it. Try and not make sharp turns loaded. Those front ends aren't the strongest. It is a lot of work but when it is cold and snowy outside that warm fire sure feels good...
Hi Mike why don't you make a little trailer out that old tray of the peterbuit for the fire wood only need a old axle and bit of a draw bar you could tow it up with the tractor then or low and slow .just a thought for you .
May I suggest chaining a log to the bucket or put several on the forks and cut them on the forks to avoid handling them twice? Also you would be cutting at a comfertable height to avoid having to bend over as much !
Your altro was hilarious as you need to be a certain age to appreciate going to the movies with your girl.... boy were those the days when you smelled your fingers and thought... she will be mine soon just to find out she has been talking to a rich boy as well and when he fires up his corvette, My fifty seven chevy with loud pipes and not much heat was not as cool in manors of rich cool where he turned up the heat by taking his other ride which was new as well and had heat and tunes. I had tunes, my car was fast, and I beat him up at a party once. He was flaunting his money and I was a big boy.... you remember Mike, not only heavy but strong as a bull. My car was cool in the summer but winter was a scrape ice off the windscreen.... on the inside!! Then he made me out to be a bully (I was really) and his warm car with a tape deck was really what she wanted to ride in... Imagine that. Ten years down the road, I was home from Nam, I was still a bully kinda and my fastest car needed a heater but I had twice as much money as he did so she dressed warmer. Ah but the joke was on me as he got into her pants while I was gone driving and it makes me so mad to think I would believe anything she said. Her dad passed on and left her with a little money and to her money was more important and I said some things I do regret but she went back and then I never took her back when that money was gone, I still had a good job. I had found me a very pretty red head who could party with me and we knew each other too well so no promises or having to impress her. At 57 years of age, I had money, my own business, and my own home with toys and one nice day, It was the first day of october, I got hurt really bad. Doctors started taking pieces off me an I couldn't walk without crutches... a good story behind all that as well Mike. Just not in your comments page. I will say that I am broke sorta, 72, and even crutches are no fun for big men. I lost it all again so now happy single, some money but no cab overs left... my last truck was a w900 and tricked out. One of the doctors is driving my old charger.... he was the one who had promised me that he would stay with me on the surgeries and then said no because he was making real money... Money is the problem ... damn it there I go again.... take care Mike and keep dreaming... never stop dreaming
Hi Mike - Greetings Mike - well done like the Dumpy Truck - see her in the UK with a Generator on the back towing a very old " Fun Fair Organ" for charity shows especially ay Chtistmas - the organ is over a hundred tears old .
How much wood can a woodchuck chuck, if a wood chuck had a chain saw...and as fast as you did it, amazing. Low n slow looks like a great investment, you were lucky to grab it. It would be cool for your to buy a couple of those hunter cameras and place them out in the field to see exactly what walks out there...thanks again for the videos Mike, Tim L. MN
How can you cut firewood with dinky saws LOL get yourself at-least a 462 Stihl with a 32 inch bar on it you don't have to bend over. I used to cut wood for a living when I was in my early 20s. The Doug fir we cut here is a lot bigger than the pecker poles you guys have in the interior to lift the doug fir rounds you need an a mini excavator to lift them onto the splitter or split them with a maul. I thought you put the new directional tread Michelins on for mud bogging in Low n slow 🤣
if you want the family too keep indulging your growing obsession you might want to give way and get them a kitten but wait while you need a big purchase you need to camouflage ,
Holy crap thats a LOT of work !!!!! Whats the setup in the shop/house for the heating system??? Radiators? Interesting technology to me, being from a warmer climate. Also whats the reason for going with wood stove? No natural gas or ?
There isn't natural gas where we live so it's electric propane or wood. I have a Radiator in the furnace ducting in the house with electric backup. The floor of the shop is heated with the hot water.
Well Mark, that would be great, as a Canadian myself I can say come on over :o), We Canadians will welcome you when and if you decide to move over here, cheers.
@@bob1117 I spent alot of time over in Canada in the British military and loved every minute also been as a tourist beautiful country however there is still a while until the youngest child's ready to leave but it's definitely the plan
Mike when I watch this video I can't help but imagine just getting wood delivered and stacked in the shed and spending all those hours bent over a frame rail making a Cummins or Cat motor sing.... priorities brother... priorities lol
I had great luck with my ms 250 i got it new last year then few weeks ago found a used one for cheap so have one with a 16 invh bar and a 18 on the other
Get yourself either a black cat or a grey one. Me and my fiancée have had great luck with em, they're pretty affectionate from our combined experience.
So....if you fill that wood shed up will it last all winter or longer? If I was younger, that looks like a good alternative to oil, gas or god forbid electric.
Nice system for dealing with your wood. However you’ve got to change the name of your best truck. Low and slow just sounds so negative for such a nice truck. It’s never let you down and has done everything ask of it. Give it a more positive name.
Not yet but one good day should do it. Had to do the acc drive seal and got stubby moved before the snow hit. So the next one should be both trucks I 🤔
woops, heats up the water and i have pipes that go to the house and shop underground. I have floor heat so its really nice to work on the floor in the winter.
