I cannot tell you how thoroughly satisfying it is to see someone take sealing as seriously as I would. I think this is the first time I've ever watched something like this, and been hella stressed out, but then instantly comforted by holes being filled and sealed in a way that I'm not scared of water leaking. haha So, uh... thanks. :oD

Love your ink and you're attitude. I live in Western Australia and am a full-time van guy for the last 3 years. Your setup is great I know you will have no regrets with the choices you are making.

I would totally use a separate screen to monitor the electrical system, because: A) I think a separate screen would look cool, and B) I wouldn't trust the Bluetooth thing to be secure. That said, it's your van, build it however you want :-) Using an induction cooking plate sounds like a great idea for a van / motor home! Also, I love how you are explaining all the tech. Most women I'm friends with are better att handling technology than I am, but there are still a lot of people who believe that "girls can't do that stuff". Please keep on proving them wrong!

I found an induction cooktop will pulse at 700 watts even on the lower wattage settings, so it might be best to wait a few hours after sunrise until your batteries have charged to cook with induction.

This setup made alot more sense on the battery side and the mounting of all the electrical components and inverters then most videos. That is a cool and easy setup for that box of components then having them all over like some

It seems like you are using the word "we" to refer to your dad and his friends a lot. 😂

Use some loctite 242 (blue) on the bolts of the solar panel brackets, and everything else up there. You don't want those coming loose.

I know when car companies mount their batteries in the trunk they vent them even though not in cabin. Are yours vented since they will be in cabin. I hope so. When are you making it 4wd?

Hi Stephi, first time viewer, thanks for sharing your van build, so far it’s great! Can you please take another look at your wiring? What you have is really close but with a couple of changes it will be much safer and improve the life of your batteries. There needs to be a fuse between your battery and the inverter. If something causes a short there will be nothing to protect the inverter and wiring from a possible fire risk. You also need a fuse between the battery and the fuse block for the same reason. The other thing is how you have the fuse block and the solar charger connected. See how your inverter is using the positive terminal from one battery and the negative from the other? This means the inverter will draw from both batteries equally, once you add the fuse this is perfect! You should connect your fuse block and the solar charger the same way. Currently your charger and fuse block are connected to the terminals of one battery, this means this battery will get more charge from the charger and more load from the fuse block. They won’t use both batteries equally, this will cause one battery to wear faster than the other, not good but an easy fix to make 👍 Good luck with the rest of your build✌️

Great build. For an upgrade maybe consider removable solar panels so you can park in the shade while still charging panels in the sunlight.

I have really enjoyed your “VAN BUILD” videos! Your explanations aren’t as initiating as some of the other EXPERTS. I personally believe there is a huge audience for the way you present your projects. I encourage you to do more how to videos in your style.

Lead acid batteries are a big big mistake, switch to lithium ASAP, larger capacity and virtually maintanence free.
