Lovely to get out all the keepsakes & good stuff. We were laughing today remembering how my Great Uncle Ed set fire to my Mum’s Irish linen table cloth by lighting an indoor Krakatoa firework that came out of his cracker. My Mum barely restrained herself from boxing his ears as ash showered the table Have a lovely day, I hope your husband likes his present that we saw you buy.
I agree Georgie - we need formality at Christmas, even if just at the beginning. It's a treat to get out the best china/glasses/cutlery and wear a special outfit. You're right - it does make people behave 😂I love laying the table, and doing the flowers for the dining room - I think I like it more than the day itself 😳
Georgia I feel very privileged to have been able to rest in my cosy bed while watching and listening to you as you set your Christmas table! I absolutely love your take on everything and you remind me of my dear late mum who went to such trouble to make things nice for us especially at Christmas and Easter. Your large floral arrangement is gorgeous. I'm loving your channel very much. Thank you for all your hard work and have a very happy Christmas and lovely visit with your parents and family. God bless you all and keep you safe. Love vera in Northern Ireland. ❤
What a sweetheart you are Vera from Northern Ireland! A very happy Christmas to you and may you be able to rest in your cozy bed indefinitely and watch Georgie s videos to your heart s content! Christel from Southern Mexico
Thank you very much for joining your ideas with us throughout 2023! You have been such an inspiration.......I'm looking forward to see more of your clips in 2024. A great fan in Knegsel, the Netherlands
Happy Christmas Georgie, thanks for the inspiration. You have encouraged me so much with your beautifully free creations-no rules, no torturing the flowers. I am excited to travel through the seasons this year with you! I remember the saying/poem as 'Beg your parden Mrs Harden, There's a chicken in your garden!' 🎄🥳⚘🌱🌺🎄
Don't worry about what's fashionable --- trends are for people who can't think for themselves. Love the glass on glass and its shimmering effect! Thank you also for inviting us into your home and your table laying process. I can utterly relate to your sentimentality. THAT is the commonality that makes it all work together.
Looks lovely,l use different blue and white china too and my mum was always saying "pardon Mrs Harden there's a chicken in my garden"😊 Have a lovely Christmas and those jugs are stunning and the flowers too.
I am SO late arriving for Christmas lunch! 😊 I am terribly sentimental, especially at Christmas, so watching you lovingly set your table with all the family treasures fills me with such joy. There is a touch of the Dickensian with the ‘Olde Gentlemen’s shop, the warm wood of antique cupboards and the spirits of Christmas past taking their places around your table. What a wonderful gift you are giving your children. Christmas will always be special and they will continue your traditions and add a few of their own. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and the New Year brings you health, love and prosperity. Xxx
Beautiful table and genius vase idea. Glad your business is thriving, you work hard and your work is always beautiful. All the best to you in the coming year. Can't wait to see the new studio!!!
I love the large floral arrangement. I am the designated person in my family to make the flower centerpiece for the table each year. Each person brings something whether it is a side dish, appetizer or desert. It makes it so special for family to contribute and it's less stressful. Hope you have a wonderful holiday and a Happy New Year. I'm looking forward to more of your informative videos.
Greetings from New Zealand Georgie, enjoyed your video..liked your arrangement and was relieved you didn’t put the Hydrangea heads in,far too heavy😃Have a wonderful Christmas enjoy the pudding wine! thanks so much for all the postings, always enjoy your presentations and am looking forward to many more
What a lovely video Georgie. I love seeing how others lay their Christmas table and I so agree with everything. I get out all our old pieces too,. It makes it so special. Items handed down over the years. Thankyou for keeping us all entertained, you are a joy to watch. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas xx
Another special vid. Thanks for the beautiful and creative floral work you share with the world. Your simple down to earth and unpretentious presentations are such a pleasure to watch. Your nation also brings a smile to my face as you make silly comments though out. Hope you have had a wonderful CHRISTMAS and break.
Watching your video brighten up the bad day I was having. Enjoy your sense of humor! Stunning table setting with all its treasures. Absolutely loved the large clear inherited vase. I would not let it out of my sight either. Never have seen anything like it! Have a blessed Holiday Season!
I am so glad I found you this year. I enjoy your videos so much. I love to mix glassware, dishes, and silverware myself. I have a weakness for picking them up at the second hand shops, lol. Your arrangement was stunning. The white is quite nice. I went simple with a thrifted silver plate trophy bowl from the Palm Beach Posse Quarter Horse Show, Youth Western Horsemanship, 13 and Under, circa January 7-8 1974, lol. How it got here in the mountains of Idaho from California is anyone’s guess, lol. I filled it with evergreens and red berries. Classic and simple, but effective. Merry Christmas ❤. TeresaSue. P.S. I agree wholeheartedly about dressing things up a bit for special occasions.
It’s Sunday here in Australia and Christmas tomorrow. My son brought over a large palm frond and a heliconia flower from his garden, he grows exotic palms and flowers in his yard and hothouse so I have a green and red arrangement yay. I agree with your comments Georgie we dress up and make the table look formal. Being a commonwealth country our Christmas lunch is very yummy English but we do splurge on seafood. Beautiful arrangement and table. Thank you for all your videos and Merry Christmas ❤
My kids and grandchildren have been home for a week so there has been lots of cooking and table setting but this video made me keen for setting the table for Christmas!
My 2023 was happier, brighter and more joyful because of you. I am so delighted I found you and Googie. Honestly. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home and mother with me. Happy Christmas from my home to yours.
I really loved this video. It was a treat to sit and watch super early on Christmas morning while waiting for everyone to wake up. I hope you have lovely family time throughout the festive season. Thank you for all your brilliant videos 🥰
Oh Georgie, , what a fabulous, charming, funny and delightful Christmas surprise. And pudding wine and brandy butter and the lovely dishes and glasses and yes, that ethereal arrangement and at the end the candles looked like they had a little too much to drink. I adore your channel! A very Happy Christmas to you and yours!
@@theflowerfarmer my candles never fit. I put some tissue paper into the holders so the candles have a chance to stand upright, but after some pudding wine and brandy butter, who cares.
So enjoyed this as always, and your table and arrangement looked beautiful!! Wishing you and your family, especially your sweet mother, a very Merry Christmas from Kentucky, USA ❤️🎄
Here in nz the white xmas lillies are usually the star of the show. But this year I am making a vase of hydrangeas in a vintage ( and cracked) john peel Dalton vase. After seeing your beautiful table last year I bought from an op shop some beautiful.old large white linen napkins. Your so inspiring'x
White damask tablecloths, YES! My Polish gram had a half dozen from her career as a housekeeper, and my sis and I covet them madly. Your arrangement is spectacular. Is a white arrangement usual at Christmas in the UK? White arrangements in the United States are used at weddings and we see predominately green conifer arrangements with red berries/accents at Christmas. The same Polish gram just loved red carnations in winter, they were the only flowers she ever thought worthy to buy with cold hard cash. Her garden was abundant and delicious! Peace, Joy and Love to you and your kin. ♥
So lucky I have found you and enjoy your blogs so much. Happy Christmas and all the best in the New Year. Yes, I’ve learned to use the good stuff and will add good chocolate to my Christmas table! 🌲
Just lovely! Using all these pretty plates ( love mismatched) sparkling glassware some passed on some sourced from thrift shops , charity shops , brocantes etc . Candles ! A bit of silver, chocolates.Wonderful. The pink hobnail pitchers ( jugs) they are so pretty. And oh my that beautiful arrangement. Thank you for that tip of a jar within a jar! I do love that you use florals that have not traveled from far away. The wisps of dried bits mixed in with the fresh I like that and it’s nice to have this time of year , but I have to say I don’t like to see the trend of all dried flowers in some of these shops. You don’t know what they’re treated with and when tulips, dahlias , cosmos are in season I don’t want to see the dried flowers collecting dust on a sideboard. How do you feel Georgie about dried flowers?
I'm not generally a huge fan of dried flowers but I'm enjoying this kind of mix - no chemicals here though and totes agree re the dust with v long lasting arrangements x
Brilliant! I just went to plan B for my floral decorations when my perfectly timed paper whites will flop over by our rescheduled Christmas on December 28th due to *&!! Covid. Just bought some curly willow that I can root and grow for next year. Your mix of foraged and fresh is right up my alley and I agree on the sparkle and candlelight. Thank you again for another beautiful arrangement. Happy Christmas as you say in the UK.
Love the arrangement! Happy Christmas to you and your family.🍾 I may order some seeds over Christmas, although we may be moving sometime next year so I'm in limbo as what's best to do. Look forward to next year, best wishes.🙏❤⛄
As usual everything looks fabulous! I use a mix of glasses and dishes too. It's not so boring that way. I love the way you love your arrangements, I usually am very pleased with mine also. Have a very pleasant Christmas with your family and a happy, healthy New Year!🎉🎉
In Belgium (if the law has not changed), mistletoe is protected and it's illegal to cut it. The few that is being sold (not a tradition here), comes from France.
Thank you Georgie. You have inspired me to polish our silver napkin rings for a bit of added sparkle! Quick question. I always really struggle to change the water in a big vase without all the flowers collapsing all over the place, any tips? Thank you and Happy Christmas! Xx
you can tie a string loosely round the flowers in the vase then easily lift this now tied bouquet to put in clean vase with clean water and snip the stems x enjoy xxx
I loved your video. Your Christmas arrangement is one I will be duplicating. May I ask about your table setting? You may have answered a question of mine for years. You have a large dinner plate with the napkin on it and beside that plate is another smaller plate. Please explain that to me how your family uses that one.
Beg yer pardon Mrs. 'Arden, you've got goats in yer Garden... (often said when someone is being Hoity-Toity, ..or to break the awkward silence after a quite obviously-heard-by-all breaking of wind. (fart) tee hee ... don't know where it came from either. Cheers from Australia.
