Being the only black person in a space or class is so jarring but it's also empowering because now it's time to show up and show out! You're going to do great this semester!! Also, very impressed with how you spoke with the woman in the Uber; you're going to go to some amazing places and you're right, self-confidence is key! People do not care the way you think they do and IF they do, WHY, tell them to mind their business haha
I’ve gotten used to being the only blk person in class. I definitely try to be myself and represent myself but it also allow me to bring awareness to issues that my community face😎

I'm 20 and in my final year of univesity in the U.K., I lowkey wish I could do it all again after watching this! It goes by SO fast so enjoy every second of it, both the good and the stressful moments 🙈. Also love how you’re staying close to God, He will surely guide your steps! Amaya has grown up to be a lovely young woman. I loved it when she said, " I like studying." So many young African American youth need to hear that and adopt such a mindset, and know it's alright to like. enjoy and embrace learning; especially difficult subjects that she's taking on. It takes effort, hard work, and a positive attitude, while recognizing one's own insecurities and working on that as well. It's a joy to see Amaya maturing, learning, and being so enthusiastic about life and learning. I have also noticed how impeccable her spoken English is.
