In these video tutorials, I normally use Bakels Premixes to save on time.
(Bakels is a bakery grade cake premix. Another great one is Allied Mills)

Wow great tips! I was using really large white cake boards on my countertop and putting one behind and one next to it and turning all the lights on but I never thought about the sheet or canvass ideas! I was elevating my cake just on a regular cake stand. I figured that was OK. I never really thought about when I would photograph by my window in the kitchen I thought that all you can see is outside the window see you see everything in the background that’s going on our friends and and and the cake and I thought how can I photograph it getting the sunlight in here without taking pictures of what’s going out on outside my window on my front yard so this makes sense when you have here and when you pointed out the white canvases I thought oh my god my daughter she pays she has so many white canvasas like the huge ones are like 6 feet tall and like 6 feet wide so That will work great! Also I was driving myself nuts taking all these multiple videos and everything trying to figure out because the ratio aspects and all these different platforms you got Instagram has a certain way of posting as opposed to RU-vid as opposed to RU-vid shorts are they’re all different they have to be photographed or filmed differently in order to get the post to look correct and I was driving myself nuts doing this over and over with so many different ways of taking pictures but I never thought of this so thanks so much for this chip it’ll make my life so much easier although I don’t know if this works with video when you make videos do you record an only one way for one platform?

Hey Rosie, helpful video. I'm going to use a few of the techniques for setting up my wedding cake display. Oh and I have a question about a bronze dusting powder you used on one of your cakes. I believe it was for your parents 35th anniversary. You used a blending brush and dusted a white buttercream cake. Thank you

Hi Rosie thank you for that. Can you do a tutorial on what you use to make your video's? Do you use a camera or your phone, what kind of overheard tripod you use or do you use a dyi one? Hey hun, thanks so much for the comment :) in terms of gear, I have a Canon 70D. It's what I started using 5 years ago when I created the channel, and it is still what I use today ;) except for the very first scenes. For that I use a Sony A6500. I use a regular Silk tripod, nothing fancy. i bought a cheap one at the time and still have this. I speed up the video for instagram and facebook, and also for the time consuming parts in RU-vid tutorials. This is just done in Final Cut Pro (I used to use iMovie, but that changes maybe 2 months ago). Slow motion techniques are something I am starting to do more and more, and that's kind of the main reason why I bought the Sony a6500, it can do 120 frames per second :) (you need a camera that can do at least 60 frames per second to get a nice slow motion shot). If you have any more questions about this sort of stuff though, please feel free to e-mail me!
