My husband is making tall skinny molds faster then I can learn to make soap. Lining them proved to be more difficult then I thought. I tried it “your way” and the lines are so sharp! They look awesome, thank you.
Love the simplicity. Thank you. Try “painters tape” (the blue ones)instead. I find they stick better to wood and easier to use compared to masking tape.
Wow, I'm someone who simply cannot line a mold. I gave up trying years ago but you've made it look pretty simple so maybe I should try again using your method.
Very helpful showing how to do the cuts! Thank you! You might have better luck with the masking tape if you tape it vertically and horizontally. It's popping up like that because there's not a lot of it attached to the wood. If you put a piece vertically over the horizontal pieces, there will be more tape touching the wood and more to fight against the pulling force of the paper.
I think it is different. Freezer paper is for separating frozen meat in the freezer, not for baking and cannot stand high heat. Freezer paper is lined with plastic coating so it will not stick to the soap.
@@WendyChuang ow that's why freezer paper looks so thick. Sellers had no idea when I asked for freezer paper so they gave me bread paper and it looks same, but I guess it's more thin. But then bread paper for baking leave wrinkle trace on my soap.
@@Izybuzy Yes. I had the same problem before as well. Baking paper is cheaper and you can find it almost everywhere. On the other hand, freezer paper is a bit more expensive and harder to find. I usually can find it with aluminium foils section. Give it a try.
Thank you for making it easier I didn't know what I was doing...lololol... I can be all thumbs sometimes...I do use The Dollar Tree duck tape it sticks much better.
steelersgirl071961 I believe so! It’s been a while since I used it :) I use this one that has a silicone liner now www.workshopheritage.com/collections/soap-molds/products/tall-skinny-triple-width-10-pound-mold-with-sllicone-liner
I love this so much. These instructions can work with any loaf or slab mold too. I do agree that the masking tape might not necessarily be the best for sticking to wood. Thank you so much for sharing. Xoxo
