How does someone lose $45 million overnight?
What mentality do you need to not give up, make the money back and then some?
Meet Abe Breuer, CEO of viptogo.com and johntogo.com. A larger than life individual who visited the Kosher Money studio to share his financial mistakes, what happens when one is reckless, and the lessons he learned along the way.
We go through the different stages of his life and his relationships with money at those times. He mentions his struggles with ADHD, his inability to write English well and how he has overcome those obstacles - there's lots in this episode.
You can tell he has a phenomenal memory and is quite passionate about teaching others what not to do out there.
If you want to reach him with questions of your own, Abe can be found at AbeBreuer@gmail.com

"With all the money I did not have, with all the debt I had over the years, with all of that I had 2007, 2008, millions and millions of dollars and we are going to get to that point in life, I WAS ALWAYS A RICH MAN." I love that quote, truly inspirational, thanks for sharing.

I’m a new listener to the podcast. I want to thank you Eli for giving me an opportunity to get introduced to the Jewish community and way of life. Being from NY I have always seen and been around Jewish people but never engaged in conversation with them due to my fear of unintentionally offending someone. My school principal and former manager were Jewish. Those guys were awesome and BOTH gave me encouragement and opportunity. I hope to have many more interactions with the Jewish community and hopefully make friends!

Abe has the qualities I see over and over again in successful entrepreneurs: - always upbeat attitude; - never give up; - bounces back from failure, doesn’t dwell on it but learns from it; - no fear of debt; He also is obviously a very bright guy.

One of the important thing that has made this man successful is strong family ties so he felt protected and secured even in hard times. His upbringing, his parents who bestowed on him love and confidence as a boy.

His wife doesn't go on the helicopter with him because of it goes down they would both die. She's smart for sake of kids not the money. At least they would have one parent remaining. Absolutely spot on in conclusion, recognize WHO YOU ARE, WHATS RIGHT FOR YOU, WHAT YOU ARE HERE FOR. And you will feel it at everything you try. Don't ignore that feeling. It's there for a reason.

50:30 Mr. Breuer's view of the act of attending college placing your entrepreneurial spirit at risk is refreshing. I consider myself a fan of colleges, my work puts me in contact with grad and doctoral students. At that level these folks most often are helpless in many aspects of day to day life. It would be interesting to thumb through the statistics of business school graduates and see whether they too are effected.

He experienced a lot of miracles - we all do - daily - as a frum businessman, we all realize that it's all a gift from The Creator - I have a chavrusa who is also a businessman - we begin each night with the same question - what nissim - miracles did you experience TODAY - and we each have a small story to share - and then we begin our learning. We all have to constantly be cognizant that the money is a gift and we have to use it correctly. Bracha V'Hatzlacha!

I think there’s a certain value you extract from facing those situations where everything is falling apart around you are having to go all out against the pressure and face impossible odds and lose. Then shake that off and continue on like essentially nothing ever happened but having racked up the experience under your belt. That’s the only way you can know just what you’re made of and what you got in you. You learn things about yourself. And it’s amazing just how long you can keep it going sometimes even if in the end you can’t make it work out. Life is all about just hanging on by a thread to try again later once you regroup. As long as you can stay alive there’s always a chance. And there’s always another opportunity, even tho in the moment you want to just focus on the one at hand.

What's happening with Abe is that he thinks a lot faster than most ppl, he can see multiple solutions at once. And life is all about solutions and ideas, ones who can think up the best solutions most quickly will prosper the most. His mind is probably a whirlwind of ideas and solutions all the time. The reason why he didn't get depressed as much during his indebtedness is because he was actually doing something to solve the problem. Ppl active in solving problems are less prone to be brought down and under. Inactivity in resolving a problem is what creates fear paralysis.
