I'm currently 103kg and it's videos like this that push me to go gym, anyone else seeing this, go and lose weight it's the best feeling ever and confidence skyrockets
I am 16 years old, I’ve been fat and overweight since I was around 10-11, lockdown didn’t help and I’ve been really trying to turn my life around recently and the biggest challenge is losing weight and I’m built like how you were and the change in you has really motivated me. I was struggling getting started and sticking with it but I’m gonna take this advice and I’m gonna start watching what I eat for the first time ever and I’m gonna start going to my relatives home gym and this advice is really going to help so thank you Danny ❤
During lockdown I put on 20kg and did nothing about it until last year. A year later I’ve almost dropped that 20kg. You’ve absolutely got this. It’s a challenge starting but once you’ve got a little momentum nothing will stop you 🙌🏼 you’ve so got this and you’ve got a community, got the whanaū and all your mates backing you. Let’s cook 💪🏼
Unironically one of the best videos on this topic on youtube PERIOD. Most fitness influencers either try and sell you something for overcomplicate it far too much. They should be showing this in schools across the world and that is not hyperbole. Weight loss is simple, and it should be presented as such. Much respect Danny, DO A WATCH COLLECTION VIDEO WITH NICO.
Glad to see you release this video! I havent seen your progress from before because ill be honest I don't follow you but your title made me click because im starting my journey and you are explaining everything exactly to the T which needs to be done. Im currently hitting the gym 6 days a week for a workout and my cardio (Canada doesn't have the best spots to walk around when ur in a dingy city) im watching my calories, but every friday I eat a whole frozen pizza and chillax and play video games but within the 4 months ive been doing this, I went from 203 lbs to 185lbs and im making my way towards my goal of 75lbs. While im doing this, im also increasing my protein intake so while I lose that fat, I am gaining muscle and it definitely shows. Keep up your good work!
This is really motivational and helpful. I would also like to add something you touched on, if your calorie deficit is 2000 per day and you eat 2500 one day that’s completely fine guys! As long as you lower it a bit the other days, let’s say you eat 1900 calories the next 5 upcoming days and then you are back on track. As easy as that. Don’t be afraid to eat a pizza, a burger, some chocolates, whatever, don’t forget to live. Be happy
oh yeah exactly i basically measure it on week deficit not daily which allows me to go for a beer on a friday with friends etc managed to get to 88 kg from 123
For someone who’s been struggling to lose weight for years (I’m now 20) and gettin ready to go to uni, I’ve been wanting to lose weight since I was 13 and this vid has really inspired me to lose the weight. Thank u Danny ❤❤
Great video to be honest, teaching the people of today that you don't need to over complicate it and put too much pressure on yourself to make the progress you want. Following a simple plan that aims at a generally more healthy lifestyle is all that matters. Then you start feeling and looking better in what feels like no time. It's also permanent change for better.
Thanks mate. Genuinely for ages the thing stopping me want to lose weight was the fact that I’m a very fussy eater and I believed that I would have to eat just healthy food and go on a strict strict diet in order to lose weight. However, in this video you’ve showed me that at the basics losing weight is really simple and not that hard to understand. This has inspired me so much and I’m going to start my weight loss journey as soon as I can. From the bottom of my heart cheers mate much love.
As experts in this field, this is completely sound advice that's simple to follow and cuts through the bullsh*t. Quality work using your platform to give this information out👏
Enjoyed this, had to put it in slow mo but enjoyed it haha! Bro is cooking, I’ve lost two stone this year and just getting started. Bros an inspiration 🙌🏼
thank you danny i’m 25 and ive been dealing with weight fluctuating past 5 years i got down to 200lbs and back up to 320lbs now im 270lbs trying to get down to 190 lbs this time the weight loss journey feels harder than when i was 20 but im more motivated than ever im trying to be in the best shape of my life
I'm a Personal Trainer & this is genuinely good advice. No need to overcomplicate it. I tend to set my client's protein target slightly higher at 1.6g/kg. Higher protein intake is great for fat loss as well as protein tends to fill you up more and actually also burns calories as you digest it.
👏👏👏👏 made it sound so simple and it is, everyone wants to get somewhere quick when sometimes it’s best to slow down enjoy yourself and still get where you want to be over a longer period of time
good stuff danny mate. you inspire me big time i have the same sort of physique you had in the first picture i just find it hard to keep away from the crappy foods and stuff but from now on i will not take any sugar, salt and fatty foods for a month and ill see how it goes. i hate the gym so i will promise myself ill do some home workouts and i will keep you updated on how i am getting on starting from today!
hey Danny im 14 and just started going to the gym im bigger than all the other lads at school and was just wondering if its to early for me to start trying to loose weight you've inspired me to become a better person and loose weight all the best god bless
Great video Danny I went on a weight loss journey but done it as you said in an unhealthy way and couldn’t carry on just started back up and will update after a month
The crazy part is that this is almost identical to my situation. At my heaviest I was 238 lbs and my goal is to be 170. Even our height and everything lines up! I’m currently at 197 lbs so I’m almost there. Thanks for the tips and inspiration!
This was amazing advice! My biggest issue was being able to track my calories for my meals. I tried heaps of different apps and looking at the nutrition on boxes and things but I always found it hard to figure out how many calories I was having. Any advice on a smart, easy way to keep track of how many calories im eating??? (Also wanna say you made an incredible change and your progress and results have inspired a lot of people so thank you for that)
Danny can you do a food plan video like what you would eat a day to stay in a calorie deficit. It's probably the main thing I struggle with I don't know what to eat.
3 months ago I was very fat and I got ill so it was a wake up call and since then I've been having 2 small meals a day (one been a meal replacement shake) and then a main meal about 6pm and then I fast for 16 hours. I also do a 24 hour fast from after my 6pm meal ones a weekend. I also do 30m on treadmill everyday and walk fo a few miles 2-3x a week and I've lost so much weight. I don't even eat healthy food I just eat whatever I feel like in the moment. Fasting and a little exercise is key. You cut calories by fasting as your body stores fat/calories and when you get hungry or need energy your body burns the stored fat/calories like 10x faster. I'm mind blown of how much weight I've lost & no excess fat 😊
I have never been anything ridiculously big but similar to danny on my sustainable plan as a 20 y/o, dropped from 90-75kg over 3 months or so focussed purely on weight loss and over last year or so have floated 75-80 while stacking on a lot more muscle. I agree tho, the difference between people that make a change and people that don't is sustainability, doing exercise you enjoy and tryna eat well 80% of the time or so.
i've been struggling for past few years. Been the same for about 3yrs now yet ive been doing exactly what you said you did. so something needs changing for me
Im 5ft8 was 83kg beginning of February came down with pneumonia lost 5kg while ill and decided i needed to get healthier and more in shape. been in a calorie deficit for a month now training on a multi gym 6 days a week and walk about 15k plus steps lost 3kg so far feel so much better in myself
Went from 92 kg fat with no muscle last year to 77 kg and some definition starting to show this year the feeling of finally getting it done feels unreal
Hello Danny. I know it’s not related to the video, but could you give me some tips on how to grow a RU-vid channel and get views? Appreciate your good work.
I love this weight loss journey but i weigh about 110 pounds so u can imagine im quite slim. If there was a video about building muscle i would luv too see it 😁
Bro I wasn’t far off you 18 months ago I was maybe 122lbs and I haven’t weighed myself since but my body basically looks like Danny rn and I managed that by adding 1-2 litres of milk/milkshake/ protein milk a day to my normal diet as well as a bit of the gym.
I lose weight fast! I was also overweight during a period of my life. You're right. You need to work out and cut calories. Of course, don't cut them by a considerable amount. Find your good zone. Then, over a period of time, it will not take over your mind; you just do it. Walking 10k+ a day, you will burn so many calories! find a beautiful path and just walk
Danny, quick question. How many steps where you clocking on your hour walks? Also, what meals where you having during this? Congrats in the transformation bro
I am currently 4 weeks into my weightloss... i weigh myself on sundays (i work a fairly phsycal job) and ive lost 11 pounds, one of the biggest helps to me was cutting back on all sugary drinks and only drinking water... i also still eat the foods i want, just dont over induldge i.e, instead of ordering 20 nuggets, a sharebox of cheese bites and 2 double cheeseburgers from maccies, a medium big mac meal once or twice a week is fine, just don't over indulge... i'll try to reply to this in another months time to keep updated on how its going
9:47 this is true, mid march I was 270lbs. Now I’m at 243lbs with only drinking water and eating chicken and rise with guac. Also ate a lot of fruit. Once I hit 230lbs I’ll hit the gym to speed the process.
the only thing that's holding me back about getting in the gym and losing weight is 1 not having a gym partner and 2 i don't really know what machines do what and don't know what to do in that regard
That is anxiety about feeling the need for a gym partner, there are plenty of free apps that give you routines to follow at the gym so you can take that worry out of the equation 👌
Danny I really enjoyed the video it was more helpful then them fitness people online because it was extremely simple. Should I count liquid calories because I heard you will piss them out so it doesn't count but I'm not sure and do I count the calories of the milk in my porridge?
The BMR calculator is better that the calorie calculator. Shows you all the calories from sitting on a couch to running marathons. Most people will overestimate how much exercise they do
