Gosh. An actual relatable high school student is SO refreshing. So many teen youtubers are really top-notch students. Hearing you talk about motivation issues and struggling with grades is honestly quite comforting.
idk why no ones saying this but Avery you seem rlly stressed in this vid. Awww babie, I’m sorry you didn’t have the best high school experience, but I’m sure you’ll achieve all your goals after you graduate. Not exactly sure if this is applicable to you, but just for anyone in general, don’t stress about the little things. Life will always work out and just goes with the flow. You’ll be okay, god has a plan for you
I find it interesting how many people don’t know about graduating early. It’s a really great opportunity for students who aren’t really made out for the high school environment. I go to a high school early college which means 2 years is high school and the other 2 is college. It’s so we graduate with an associates degree. It’s an amazing opportunity and I agree with you about the online classes. You really have to be able to motivate yourself.
I did the whole half hs half college thing too and graduated early and I noticed that the counselors at least in my school were pushing really hard against graduating early. A lot of the schools won’t advertise it or allow many kids to do it cause they get that $$ every year your butt is in their school. It’s really sad :/
Your birthday is coming up, so will you actually be 17 when you graduate? edit: *her birthday is tomorrow lol graduation at 17 is still cool though!* congrats! edit 2: just made it to the end of the video where you mention turning 17
you guys are missing the point and downplaying her hard work. Yes some people graduate at 17 just cause they have a late birthday ( they aren’t special) she’s graduating as a junior, the year that comes before your senior or final year in high school for none Americans. It’s impressive she finished high school is 6 semesters instead of 8 it’s impressive
I tried to graduate early by taking extra online classes and my school wouldn't let me, so I dropped out and went completely online and it was the best decision I ever made. Now I'm excelling in my third year of college and if I hadn't done online schooling in highschool I probably would of been so burned out.
Dunno what you did during college....but "real world" college is not. Until your last semester, when the impending doom of adulthood begins to descend upon your soul.
i just want you to know that i really respect the fact that you come on here and answer these questions for us, this video has really helped me and you and Alex inspire me everyday
I started college classes in 8th garde. Didn't attend a university obviously but I took the classes and got the credits. That year I didn't get many but after Freshman year I had almost gotten my associates (I was hella close) so by Sophmore I had my associates and guess what. I graduated at 15. I plan now to get my bachelor's and then my masters. I might just get another degree though because the one I did it in is a stable job but isn't something I want. My idea was that if I work on something that's stable then I can do whatever I want. So I probably will just go to the same University as my aunt which is famous for coming out with amazing actors, it's located in Europe but it's still cool. Sorry for the rant. I am too stressed though. I feel like I'm not certain in ANYTHING. Like I'm not sure what I really want to do. I just feel so lonely as well. I have barely any friends and I just don't know what to do. I'm scared I'll never find anybody and ugh.
Honestly I loved this sm, I related so much with the “high school not being my thing” I just randomly switched to online school to finish quicker just so I could start my future if that makes sense
I did all online classes this year (12th grade) so I could accept a work study I was offered and it's honestly one of the most difficult things I've ever done
Tbh, seeing a 16-year-old graduate is not a weird thing for me. Where I live, you graduate at 16 (15 for the min and 17 for the max), and you can start university as early as 16. I find it weird how in America and the UK high school is so long!
First of all, the legal age in the US is 18. You are not considered a legal adult at any other age, therefore, your school "career" goes that long so once you've graduated you're 18 (or nearly 18) and can prepare for more adult things. Also, you're confused. In the UK they "graduate" secondary school at 16. You do not have to attend college which is only necessary for university.
avrey i love you so much!! i've been subscribed for over a year now and it's insane how much you've grown!!! i hope my youtube channel can be as successful as yours someday 😍
Literally the only RU-vidr honest and relatable. When I was in high school (Spanish system) I was so unmotivated, it was so hard for me, I studied a lot and was never a student with amazing results. Thanks for being true to you
It kinda looks like her roots have just grown out a lot and she hasn’t had them touched up or maybe just got more of a balayage done so she wouldn’t have to touch it up so much.
I'm graduating high school at 16 and I will be a senior and i don't have a choice. I'm 10 right now in 7th grade soo o feel like I might not get into some colleges cuss of my age. I want to become a neonalogist its a type of nurse.
*dont stress over college. you don’t have to go to college right after high school. i’m a senior and i’m not going. i have no interest. maybe i will later in life, maybe i won’t. my sister is in college right now and has absolutely no idea what she’s doing and is wasting a ton of money.*
It seems amazing being graduated so young! In France, things don't work like that at all. We're all graduate at 17-18 depending on our birthdays and people who graduate before are genius, so it's really rare to graduate before 17-18, like maybe 3% of highschoolers each year. And that people have to be diagnotized as genius by specialized doctors.
That's because it's probably a fuck ton harder in France. The school system in the US is absolute shit. Most Americans graduate at 17/18, I only know one person who graduated at 16. It's not common because not a lot of people want to push themselves to do so.
Congrats Avrey!!!! I wish you the best in this new chapter after school... I also graduated at 16, I was basically 15 my whole senior year (in my case, I skipped 2 grades in elementary school), but due to some illnesses and me looking 11-12 at 16, I started college at 18 and I'm just finishing it this year. You can always go back to college, and is nice that you want to keep learning, even if you aren't attending college.
i’m a junior and i’m graduating this year the end of my junior year because i have all my credits i need so this school years ends in may, i was wondering do i have to walk stage with the class of 2023 or 2024?
@@officialrae2023 Hi! I graduated as a senior back in 2014, and I walked with the class of then 2014... By 2015 I was living in another city and by 2016 I was already in college. At least where I'm from, you walk with the class you're finishing all of your studies, in your case it would be in may 2023.
I too live in Utah and I'm actually going to an early college school next year. I feel like the reason school is so hard is because of the system, you just have to find clever and legal ways to trick the system. This is actually a good way to graduate early too
I really wish I was this young when I graduated high school! And not have to go college! Hopefully RU-vid becomes my full time job soon! Who else feels the same way?
Even when I hate my college with a passion, what I do like about it is the people I've met. So many people with the same interests and focus in life and career, so different from the people I met in High School.
But there are also so many opportunities outside of college and trade industries are lacking workers due to the push for college. Plus, student loans. My dad didn’t grad high school because he had to work full time to support a family. He started working in a trade and now he owns his own business, has no debt, and makes more money than most people with a masters degree. Also, he is one of the smartest people I know. He’s a math wiz
I honestly couldn’t get thru high school myself due to extreme anxiety & depression, etc. Though I eventually got my GED. I have a lot of respect for you finishing early.congrats!!
Sending you lots of love sis. I know you seem really stressed out now but don't worry everyone does things at their own pace and time. I honestly hated high school and now am enjoying life during college. Give yourself the time and space to follow your heart and dreams.
Damn...So different from Malaysia. No such thing as online class, need to wear uniforms, compulsory to join a club, sport n society. But I feel bad tho that u don't hav friends. My highschool friends r like my family for life
Yo- have you considered workaway or woofing in another country? you get paid to live there and it would give you a cool opportunity to learn outside the classroom, get some work experience, and be immersed in another culture. Personally when I went to france to study abroad I found the most amazing people and created genuine friendships I was lacking in the USA (also if you fall in love with another country their education is usually cheaper) ILY
Avery is an amazing and talented person, don’t get me wrong, there’s no way you can’t love her. However I do want to add my input, Avery is most likely graduating early because she already has a career that is financially giving, and will most likely be set for the rest of her life. BUT graduating high school early and looking at college as a second thought may not work for everyone as the combination sets a reliable path for success for people who don’t have a RU-vid career. I mean well :) I’m sure a big portion of Avery’s audience is young and easily influenced by those on the internet and I just want to make it clear cutting college and being successful isn’t as easy as it sounds!
This video helped me so much! I’m also not very involved and didn’t do any honors or AP classes. It completely made me feel like crap for it lol. I felt like I was so uneducated and genuinely dumb and just not smart like others. I also don’t have many friends and would often beat up myself about it so much that I struggle with my self esteem when it comes to socializing. So thank you for posting this:) it made me feel like I’m not alone, and it is totally okay to be in the path I am in.
Ik you probably don’t care that much about high school but if it were me I wouldn’t regret looking back at my high school experience and it not being good. I’m a sophomore (but where I’m from we don’t call it that) and when I was younger I always wanted to grow up really fast. Now I look back and regret it and I wish I enjoyed being a kid. I understand that ur circumstances are very different, but for me personally, I like to get involved and do all the dumb, embarrassing things the school puts on because when else in your life are you going to be in a place like high school. Obviously you don’t want to peak in high school but I think that we should strive to make whatever phase in life that we are at the best we’ve had so far.
Ughhh your so lucky. I live in small town Nebraska and so we aren't even given the option to graduate early. I mean I'm graduating at 17 too though since I'm on of the younger people.
I'm a senior and I wish I could have graduated last year, this year sucked, it was the worst year of my high school experience by far, but hey! I only have 13 days of school left, so that's exciting ahhh
wowza i wanna get done with hs in junior year and go to berkeley majoring in comp science and minoring in music theory but like for now i’m gonna be a 14 year old in 8th grade with a very normal gpa of 3.7 smh 😔😔 i didn’t know ppl could actually graduate early and like not die but now i actually know the steps i need to take wowi ty
i almost started crying when she said she’s done homework maybe 5 times this year. i’ve had homework every day since the first day of school and it ruins my life but like it’s fine🙃👍🏼
I'm seventeen and I'm gonna graduate at 19 'cuz here in Italy u Need to do five years of high school, so, unless u start elementary school at five (someone do that, but it's not really a thing) u'r gonna graduate at 19 and then start uni at the same age, I think it's a lot better bc at 16/17 ur still a teen so I don't see the point of graduating this young, but for sure different state different mentality, so yhea, congratulations to everyone who is graduating but please take your time to do everything in the right way (sorry for my bad English)
dude im doing the same!! i've been made fun of for no damn reason for going to a self guided / charter / college prep school. i found out i could graduate early and was all on board. i finally have over 3/4 of the credentials needed and i get to graduate 2020 at 16. its taken such an emotional toll on my mental health but i really think it will be worth it as im finally starting to see i can work at my own pace while still being able to focus & create the things i love. im feeling very pressured to go into college but like you said i feel as if i have time to think about it, and my family is super low-income so its hard to get there in the first place. thank you for sharing this!!
Dude, high school sucked so hard for me. Trust me it gets so much better when you can get away from home especially if you live in a small town or close knit community.
