I knew from the beginning of making this board that I wanted to have a modular river as part of it but I wanted it to be special, I wanted to jump it up a notch somehow.
I played around with the idea of having the river twisting and turning through the city but it just didn't really sit right with how I wanted the board to play.
Instead I made these two "simple" straight river pieces which can either bisect the board or they can be right at one edge - what separates these river pieces from any other river terrain that I've ever seen is the modularity which I've added to them.
As part of both tiles there is a "plug and play" set-up so that literally anything can be include as scatter terrain as part of the river - so in most instances this will be a bridge of some description but there are options for collapsed bridges, rocks, rubble piles or anything you like really.
As you'll see from watching the video I've already set about making a few.
Follow along and you could make this board yourself or something inspired by it maybe.
If you want to support this channel and the hard work that I put into it then please buy products from amazon after following this link below.
Yep, that's right - the link is to show you where I get my foam from but anything you buy from Amazon on that visit will give me a tiny affiliate payment - but they all add up.
The EXACT XPS foam that I use:
10mm - amzn.to/4eXuX2w
20mm - amzn.to/43ulY3p
30mm - amzn.to/4cGgXsE
Proxxon Hot Wire Cutter - amzn.to/4ajgKug
Craft Knives - A large and small snapaway blade and 20 replacement blades - absolute bargain and a great product - amzn.to/3Vr53wG
Large Cutting Mat: amzn.to/4anZ0xm
Other products used in the project.
UV Resin: amzn.to/3VLbwD4
UV Torch: amzn.to/4akSiIT
Basic Resin: amzn.to/4al1FbB
Grey Stone Flock - amzn.to/3TY4c5t
Glue Gun: amzn.to/43unJ0v
Look forward to sharing more details and photos as they become apparent - like I say in the video - new ideas are evolving all the time.

Again, very cool board. I really like the layout flexibility and the bridges placement is really cunning. Definitely makes you want to play a game. Keep rocking, my man 👍🏻

Thank you Paolo! I have to say that I'm really proud of the cunning bridge placement idea ☺️

It looks great. Always daunting when you divide the board with water, need plenty of alternative access for playability. The amount of flock in the river is probably excessive if it is intended to be deep water. I think adding flock near the edges but leaving the middle bare and just applying the darkest mattest black paint will make it seem like the bottom of the board is ten feet down rather than two... But maybe there is just THAT much pollution, and THAT much rubble to have raised it.

Thank you for your input, it was very much a conscious decision for it to appear this full, maybe it wasn't the best one but without it I would have used twice as much resin 🤣

Another great video! You may have previously mentioned this, but what size are the tiles that you are using?
