How I Made a Solar Panel Using LED

We everyone know that LED emits light when connected to a power supply but one interesting thing is if we expose a LED in sunlight then it behaves like a solar cell, so in this video I used thousands of LED to replicate a solar panel.

No. It's a step backwards. It is very inefficient and expensive. Even stand-alone photodiodes, which are 10 times better than LEDs, or transistors with an exposed housing, were not good in an emergency solution either. For a miniature photovoltaic system, buy a polycrystalline or monocrystalline panel and you have more energy production for significantly less money.

You should use a transformer go increase the output voltage from the LED solar panel and the transformer will convert it to a higher voltage

@hermitoldguy6312

@@mregg4967 When a current flows in a wire, a magnetic field forms around it. (See Maxwell's corkscrew rule). If lines of magnetic flux cut a wire, a current is induced in it. But induction only happens while the magnetic field is moving. (See Flemming's left & right hand rules). A DC voltage makes a steady current, which makes a steady magnetic field, so there's no induction. You can either move the wire (generator), or vary the current (AC, transformers).

For the next time try placing down a lot of photodiodes or phototransistors. Their PN junctions are more sensitive to light than to current. In case of regular LED when its poles are polarized the potential diference in the junction forces electrons to jump off the junction emitting the light and thus creating a flow of electrons (current). Photodiodes works exactly the oposite, when photons come through the PN junction, its created a small potential difference which will push the electrons away creating current.

seems like your math was wrong, or your using artificial light on the leds was a miscalculation. also seems like you could have built a much smaller unit for a proof of concept to test, and then scale up and adjust the build design so it would actually do what it was designed to do....charge a phone. you need 5 volts and around 2amps = 10 watts. 4.92ocv x .086amps=.42 watts. i am currently learning about solar cells and panels and from what i have seen so far, we are not to use open circuit voltage for our math for several reasons probably should have built the plans around 20volt open circuit then used a small voltage reducer to step what ever is being made into 5volts, with a few caps to smooth out and create a buffer for when a cloud passes over, other wise your voltage will fluctuate below 5volts and at max hit 5 volts. i suspect this project actually did meet an objective, the secret objective to get youtube views for an idea weathe knowing it wouldn't work from the get go. but you had an obligation to your sponsor and they sent you the boards and expected a video and if that was the actual plan then you were successful my friend. i think you should revisit this idea and make it work, it is a fun idea and it's very educational in nature.

yeah.,... wasting experiment...... wasting time.. wasting money..... you should research the max output current and the cost to buy the leds.

You mean to say only one yellow LED makes 1.5 volts. That's amazing.😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉 But what i don't understand is when you connected many of them you got less voltage 😂😂😂

If one LED is 3 rs , then 3000 LED = 9000Rs. , ⭐One solar of 6v(2 pcs) - 160Rs ⭐Lithium ion battery(3 pcs) - 300Rs ⭐Wires - 20Rs ⭐ Soldering Ion + Paste + Solder Wire - 200 This will come arount 800 , you can make an absolute powerbank with it .. of 9000mAh

If one bulb gave you 1.62 volts why didn't 3000 give more than 5 volts?

I've always suspected LED's could generate electricity.. Thanks for the verification

If 1 led produces 1.62 ( yellow ) then 3000 led should produce 3,023 volt ( DC) isn't correct how you got only 4.93 volt ( DC)
