Is there no end to this girl's fashion talent's? Well done Maddie, absolutely brilliant. Brought back some happy memories of my late Mother who also made her own dresses 🥲
Girl you have a serious talent you can learn to cut and sew in no time start from a basic bodice pattern making and basic pants you can make anything and perfectly
I actually found your content in Shorts... It took RU-vid a month to recommend your channel instead of the dozens of reuploads 🙄 Can't wait to see more of your content!
I love your fashion sense and that you’re looking to possible post more ranges of content. I hope you’d consider speaking about basic and staple pieces to own in order to make more versatile looks, as well as tips for what items not to buy because they won’t be very usable. I’m trying to learn much more so I can simplify my closet while still being able to create different looks
This reminds me of my first steps in sewing😅 lots of winging it but practice make perfect, so be patient and do some more and you’ll get there 😊 great job!
I’m so HAPPYY you finally decided to make tutorials!! So excited for whatever you have next ❤️ can you recommend to us beginners who to watch on RU-vid? Thank you!! ✨✨
My mother was a university student with only little money back in the fifties. She liked to make her own dresses. Once she won a present basket full of delicious goods. She was called to the presenter of this little tombula... she wore one of her nicely cut dresses. She heard someone in the background saying... that is not fair, look at this wealthy woman getting the price!😅 kleider machen Leute (dresses make people) Very skillful dress making! Chapeau.😊
I’d really love to see you style someone who had a larger body someday. You have such interesting ideas and it would be cool to see you thinking through issues you don’t face personally.
This is seriously creative and just outstanding in general. Youd make a great role model for a young girl in need of someone to look up to maybe entering the modeling world or fashion industry. Anyways, great job.. ok going back to current videos now k byyyeeee
I just recently watched Bella's vogue life in looks video and this dress was actually originally worn by naomi campbell. bella was so obsessed with it that she had a duplicate made for her to wear to cannes. just so you know.
Brilliant that you make some of your own clothes too! Good design is so much more attainable when you just sort some adjustments or make your own from lovely fibers.
love love love from India, i can’t tell you how obsessed i am, i just keep watching your videos and reels, u r very talented keep up! keep going! love love love and only love for you and your work❤
@madeleine_white little helpful tip my mom told me. When gathering material with the thread from the machine, do two rows so that if one by chance breaks, you do not have to start over. ❤
I’ve been sewing since I was 12…that’s a lot of years. Anyway, I’ve always done anywhere between 2 and 5 rows of 6pi depending on the fabric. Materials were much less expensive back in the 60’s. These days, $12.00 a yd for 100% cotton is crazy…🤦🏼♀️
@@StormSongs7natural fabrics are for rich people now, us 99% can dress in plastics in we want to be dressed at all 😒 the general quality of clothes has gone down the drain, so that major fashion houses can sell their "ready to wear" at an artificial "low" price in comparison to their collections and still have a gain of like 900% on the costs. The rest of the clothing industry adjusted and now we literally dress in cheap plastic bags with armholes
Hey i know nothing of sewing but do u think u can show more of how u did measurements and how u sewed the pieces together because im confused great vid by the way.🥰
As much as this being a time consuming to make and such, but all in all its amazing how you work with what you have. Love to see more or similar videos like so in future. It's a fun and unique side to see!
My personal opinion which is old cause I am old lol - The black for the bodice on the short white dress - I don’t care for that . I have seen you in some knock out dresses and you look stunning !!!
Just began catching Maddie’s little putting together an outfit in like 6 seconds on RU-vid and this popped up. Maddie probably knows more about making a dress than Victoria Beckham does who I question if VB even knows how to sew .. lol.
thank you for this! a few questions - was there any stretch in the lining and crepe fabric you used? what were the measurements of the tulle you used (width and length)? and what was the length of the zipper you attached?
No stretch, I bought 2 yards of tulle but only ended up using one, I always buy 22 inch zipper and trim it, always better to have extra than not long enough!
I think to have gotten the black cups in place you would have had to sandwich them between your liner and outer/slip fabric, when you had them right sides together.(as you already sewed the black "cups" together and turned them right side out) Then when you sewed the neck line seam you would put them "upside down" (so their open edge lined up with the raw edge of the dress) so their open edge would be caught in the neckseam, then turned the the dress out, so the wrong sides( of the lining and slip fabric) were together. And the black cups should have stood up. You could put the Tule in at the same time, layers on the cups between the liner and slip, sandwiched. A heavy weight interfacing would have gave the cups or even the white "straps" stiffness without using boning. Interfacing comes in different stiffness-es. I'm just blown away ❤with your "random" cutting as I'm so anal with my exact pattern cutting 😂. Great work. Pining sheers with cut zigzag which helps control fraying.
maybe for the cups, you could've turned them inside out and put them facing down in between the lining fabric and your fancy fabric with the right sides facing each other, so if you turned it all inside out there wasn't a seam? I haven't constructed a dress myself but I think that might work?
You should make more videos. I just kept on seening a bunch of ur shorts from other channels that made me search to check if u have ur own. Plus it voice is so soothing to listen to.
