How’s that 75/hour working out now? They’re taking minimum 50% of the fare. Assuming the consumer would think that the higher ride costs would be passed on to the driver, tips have fallen off a cliff. And this a driver with a 5.0 rating with nearly 3000 rides. Have you seen a big cut in your wages the last 5 months?

Saw another driver’s app with double the surge and 4x the surge area as my app. He was a newbie, driving only two weeks. I was getting those rates in January, but Uber is penalizing experienced drivers.

Just to let you know. I added you as a referral. Currently I did 300 deliveries and have a rating of 100%. But today uber eats demoted me to blue because my acceptance rate was 66%. They won't let me back to diamond until I reach 85%.

Another thing too is when you sign a contract Uber said they were gonna take 25% of the fair to cover their costs I have noticed they've taken 33 to 55% depending and now they stop showing you what the customer pays and only show you what you make did that shortly after I called and complained

Uber doesn’t pay surge in destination mode or any bonus on long trips in my market

Technically you made a $75 for two hour because you came back empty to downtown or whatever, but if you stayed in downtown for that two hour you would make at least $200 and more. You will spend $25 at least on gas, Since you drove over 100 miles The remaining $50 split For mileage, your labor, oil burning, all these costs . Generally long trip is really bad for Uber driver.

I don't think you really know what you are talking about. just because he went 23 miles he still can get a ride back into the city. Or just another ride where you drop off. I NEVER have downtime except from 3am to 5am. If you need some help. I would def pay attention to this guy. He knows what he is talking about.

Great idea but here in Phoenix you only get 2 destinations so if you cancel the destination it will only leave youbwith 1 destination left. Unless they change how destinations work since March. Haven't driven since then I'm super high risk and staying home for now. I really miss driving.

@@conniesluyter2082 you only get two no matter your Uber Pro status. The trick to keeping them however is to remove the filter as soon as you get a ride, before you even pick it up. If you remove the filter before you pick up the ride and go offline, after you conclude the ride you will see that you still have the Uber filter remain. Lyft give you extra filters the higher your reward status is.

I noticed there are significant surges in an area about 30 minutes away from my home. They occur regularly everyday, mornings and afternoons when people get off work. Supposing I drive there and work that area the entire day, will I be getting these surges?

surges frequently pop up and go away very quickly. Pay attention to the times. If it is surging every day at the same time then def put a destination to that surge zone and start working from there. More times than not you will get a ride there so you are making money as you are heading to you destination

UDATE: ended up getting him again and was able to give him the tip plus the tip for the second ride. I got a REALLY good uber driver, when i was sent the notification to rate him i dropped my phone . When i picked it up, it was gone!! OMG how do i rate and give him a TIP??? PLEASE HELP!!!

Okay I am a brand new Uber driver and have only done 4 trips! Im a bit confused, are you Declining the rides in surge area that you feel the surge could be better and waiting for the Surge to increase? Also how do you know if it's going to be a short distance ride verse longer distance?

Don't decline, take those small surge rides because you are more than likely going to get another one of those surge rides and it will be longer, or like this guy says sometimes you can get multiple small surge rides which add up to to the same amount of money. If you drive with Lyft as well, after about 10am you can put a destination to the airport, and then you are almost guaranteed an immediate ride from the airport. I am an early riser and do this every day at the end of my shift. Get 4 rides in about 1.5 hours and they are generally long rides. Hope that helps you
