Each state has their own laws regarding LDAs. See the American Bar Association for your scope of practice as an LDA. In some states you are only allowed to work as an LDA under the guidance of an attorney. Also, Local community colleges offer online LDA courses.
Omg!!! I started watching you when I got my real estate license years ago! Low and behold I’m in a paralegal certification program as we speak. I’m also a notary signing agent. Felt this was the natural progression. So cool to see you’ve added on more to your expertise!! Big ups🎉
We just started a Vegas location. We are happy Clark County and Nevada as a whole has regulations for LDPs. Florida is like the wild west with no a lot of regulation and there is an association who teaches you how to commit ULP. In Florida anyone can become a LDP which can be dangerous to the client. In Florida, a lot of what you said in terms of documents you cannot do legally. We offer a lot of niches because we have a healthy amount of staff that each have their own niche. This is one of the areas we have maximized our profits. I highly recommend contacting the state Bar to see if LDP is legal as a non attorney service before you start.
Hello from Cocoa Florida, Im a retired professional that also took a paralegal course recently and now am following you here. Thank you for the video, I plan on watching the others today and tomorrow as well. Again thanks for this help.I plan to start out with divorce and family law for the first year then I hope to spread out a bit as I learn more.
Wow! I am working in an immigration law firm for almost 8 years now. I gather the documents and do the final review before mailing out getting paid less. I want to learn from you.
I’m so happy to find your channel. I have just been feeling heavy on becoming a document preparer lately. I have high school diploma and business certificate in marketing, and claims adjuster license but needing something more fulfilling. I’ve just started my notary training and looking to become a full service business. I’m also here in Vegas so I m really happy to have found this channel.
Ionna from Phoenix Arizona, and my specialty area is Family law! This is my second attempt at legal Doc Prep, I think I may have thrown in the towel to soon before. I’m looking to start making at least $10,000 a month! So glad I found this RU-vid video, although it’s a year later 😂
I am Julia from SE FL and I came across your video on RU-vid after hearing about becoming a legal document preparer. I am thinking of starting with bankruptcy and I would love to earn $10K per month. I am a notary loan signing agent for 1 year and business is very slow so I need to diversify and add other streams of income. I am also becoming an Apostille Agent.
I’m located in Indiana and very interested in becoming a professional document preparer…I would like to start off in real estate…I found this channel when you would post things about real estate
Freida Tavarez from New Jersey I want to focus on immigrations form preparer for now. Like you said focus on one thing first than keep adding.I want to make at least 10k+ a month. Looking for that financial freedom for 2023!
Hi Daniel! My partner is already doing this for free lol, helping folks in the community which is all good. He's done it from real estate to criminal and is literally working on 4 cases now so this needs to be a business. We're in S Florida and had to fight an insurance company for PI which took 2yrs and we won! He's extremely knowledgeable of the law and I learned a lot in the process but I think I shed a Lil blood along with those tears🤣We are more than interested in this training. What niche do you think is the most profitable?
I know this post is old, so just to clarify doing document preparation in Florida is legal as a business? I am also in Florida and would like additional information.
I’m super interested. I’m in Illinois so I’ll have to check the state requirements. Already a licensed notary but looking to make $30,000/month and more.
@@lolagunz a person would be very hard pressed to make $30k/mo doing just notary just because of the smaller size of the max payment you can make with notary... For instance you may be able to max out at $200 to do a loan signing as a notary. To get to $30,000/mo you would need to do 150 signings a month which would be almost impossible to do
Hi my name is Francis from Atlanta, Georgia . I am very interested in paralegal work . I want to make at least 10K plus and think you are the right coach to take me there. I am looking forward to working with you.
I'm in Arizona (so yes I can do it state) but I have a question --- Can I do this from another country? I'll keep my home address in Arizona but, I want to travel abroad and work from home. Does anyone know if this can be location independent?
I am new to the legal field, working on a paralegal certification now, I have filed 4 different court cases pro se, and if I could have afforded an attorney I would have, in my community, there are no non-lawyer legal services available. I want to start one so I can help others get affordable assistance.
@@nogoogle6349 that's life in general and you could state tht about any business. Any business anybody can sue you at anytime. Throughout 20 years of being in business I've been sued twice... and it's NEVER been by a client... it was always a competing business owner who sued me over BS.
get commercial liability insurance first and foremost. Get 1m aggregate. I recommend HisCox insurance. They run about 150 a month. Second, you can prepare the document correctly and still get sued. With commercial liability insurance, they will also pay for the attorney if you do get sued. We have been in business for over 30 years. We have been sued once. The other party subject to the case sued us because they didn't get their way. They lost. However, we have nothing out of pocket.
LDP is considered unlicensed practice of law in NC. It is one of the attorney driven states. You have to jump through hoops to be a doc preparer in that state.
@@Detour500 Hi can you please direct me on how I could find out if this is unauthorized practice of law in my state? I'm not sure where exactly to look. I can't find a clear answer for Idaho
Do I need to earn a license, certificate or degree etc in order to legally practice as an Independent immigration document preparer? I reside in TX. so based on this video, I’m not legally permitted to be a solo/Independantly owned/operated immigration document preparer unless I’m a licensed Attorney, correct?
Hello Dr Shuntay located in Arizona, need support in non attorney niche in family law or immigrants. I am looking to connect clients to Africa Business opportunities and i need a strategic system also. I have been focusing on everything finishing hardly anything..
