Some tips for how I make GMOD videos. It is not as in-depth as it could be, because I am not a good teacher. Hopefully it will give you a starting point to make your own.
@@BARKofficial considering Badwater uses the doors in this video, Scout entered one at the end of “Passage,” and is captured again, I think whatever originally allowed Scout to escape is separate from the doors.
So, Scout has escaped again (Presumably back through the white void) and all sentient 'actors' are bound to the floor in between Gmod sessions until needed.. scout is the only one able to make an escape at the moment.
I love the theory hes a younger person and his version of Gmod has always been like this so he thinks its "normal." Everyone has ragdolls with thought and white void doors
I really love how nonchalant the author is or at least seems to be. Like, all of this is absolutely normal to him, everyone has sentient ragdolls in their games or these weird white voids. He doesn't try to hide unusual things, they're just there. And I really like it, this is an interesting approach.
Dude him walking into the white void was just an utter WTF moment because I thought it was just taking the spooky "oh im editing this but it got corrupted or something and part of the context was left in" but hes like treating it like its not a big deal
I just think of this now: since Teethineer's facial structures are heavily changed, the Blue Engineer must undergo excruciating levels of pain all the time and unable to feel at ease.
I love how Badwater uses both and older version of gmod and an older version of gm_construct to even further cement the fact that this is all taking place in a sort of alternate timeline where we can interact with Badwater but they are stuck in a timeline that is roughly 11 years in the past.
Y'know what I just realized? In Passage, the radio started telling the Scout to run when he got near the door. What if the radio was telling Scout to run not because the player had loaded into the map, but rather the door that the player uses to teleport to other maps had appeared?
@@afilthymemer5366 It's the moment when Badwater turns around after fiddling with the walker. You'll notice that Scout, who was just right next to the couch earlier, is gone.
...Y'know, ever since Gunslinger's tutorial on this, I always thought that the sawblades probably hurt like hell. But then I remember that No Collide exists. So they're fine. Mo̷stly.
rather they do see something wrong with them, because he repeatedly attempts to stop or reobtain the ragdolls, but they are so tired of it they dont care about hiding it
"Now he can run to his heart's content." "But we do not want him running around aimlessly." "Looks like Melonman has to come help him again." all this stuff has a creepy vibe because of the things weve already seen
“It’s good to weld them to the ground so they don’t wander off after filming” Man, I hate it when my rag dolls turn sentient and run away. It kinda just happens sometimes.
If you look real close at around 5:04 you can see the engineer move on its own. The buildings in the back that we can see through gaps in the menu don't move but engineer moves to the left anyways. Try setting it to 0.25x speed if you're having trouble seeing it.
This is actually a cool tutorial despite the ARG. Also, fun fact: Technically, the series takes place in 2009 meaning Badwater has more subscribers than Pewdiepie now.
@@elmismisimomismisimo2939 Yea, considering that, based on the untitled video, gunslinger started uploading in 2010, hence why in the Q and A badwater hadn't heard of gunslinger
gunslingerpro also has a similar guide video on their channel. They do the exact same content and with similar issues with actors 'wandering off' and 'acting on their own accord'. That type of stuff all Gmod animators have to deal with.
Yeah, gives some lore and entrentainment plus it gives us a pretty nice understanding of what we need to do for some basic things that we might not know
I NEED a mod that allows for inter-map travel like that! I know it's probably impossible without it being one map but it would be so cool! Maybe one map that could have other maps added and it use a system of portals similar to ones provided by "doors". If only it were possible in source or source 2...
In which case the scout immediately broke out again. I guess the show of him breaking out of his weld constraints has become further relevant. I'd bet that he'll use that to continue to thwart Badwater's efforts in containing him. Atleast until Badwater either deletes him or shove him in a cell.
@@Tinotin12 So this could basically mean that the player never really disconnects from the game when trying to change map, he just goes through that door and teleports... Hmm...
Also "Make sure you use the saws" there are a number of wheels you can use to achieve the same effect, but Badwater chooses sawblades, perhaps to hurt and torture the Ragdolls for attempts of escape or something
1:33 a small detail i noticed here, did anyone see how Scout's arm didn't completely drop down when Badwater let go of him? usually when a ragdoll has an unfrozen part, it drops down immediately and would swing slightly when let go, regardless of if the hardware models are being used or not. Scout's arm doesn't do that, but instead it awkwardly stays at his waist as if he's nervous. interesting.
3:42 You can tell that badwater is pissed that the RED scout escaped by how he applies the no-collide tool to the engineer and the props. (Just my thoughts :P )
0:51 that’s the same door seen in “Passage.” 1:05 The “actors” try to run away when Badwater isn’t looking. 1:23 the same Red Scout as in “tf2 sawmill gameplay,” “the broken TV,” and “Passage” is shown captured by Badwater, confirming that is what took place at the end of “Passage.” 3:30 Scout got away from the set and escaped somehow. 3:33 Badwater seemingly goes to search for Scout, but since he ends up using the Red Engineer for his tutorial instead, it seems like Scout got away, which should be impossible considering they’re in a closed gmod map. This suggests that when Scout appeared in Passage after almost being deleted in the previous video, he was teleported somewhere else or somehow saved again in a similar away. And the same thing is happening here. 4:31 This shows Badwater is impatient. 5:15 Badwater removes Engineer from the shadowy building and the video cuts away, implying he doesn’t want him there. He went to seemingly search for Scout there, so it’s possible there’s something wrong with that area? 5:51 Badwater purposefully slams the Engineer into the couch. All in all this serves to explain and answer some key questions raised in previous videos. 1. The sentient gmod models have tried to escape from Badwater before. 2. The strange white door that appeared in Passage is used by Badwater to move between maps. This along with the appearance of the Red Scout once more explains what happened at the end of Passage - Scout was transported from the Sawmill map to another, but was then lured into a space that Badwater had control over to be captured again. It also confirms that the voice speaking through the radio in Passage is against Badwater, as it is saying in code “you must hide” and “you must run,” or something like that. 3. Badwater is impatient and can be cruel to the characters he uses in his Machinimas. 4. The same force that may have helped Scout escape the Sawmill map and tried to help Scout in “Passage” may have also allowed him to escape in this video too. Do it is still active. 5. Badwater is aware something is helping Scout but seems to be unable to fully understand or counter it. This was another great video. Thank you Badwater!
Hey, remember the white room in this map? Maybe Scout escaped through there and that's why he was able to escape and Badlands doesn't want the other "actors" there. Plus, that would explain why the passage is white. It's the white room. When the characters get deleted, they get sent through the passage and to their original game instead of getting killed. Badlands was able to travel there and get these actors. But I'm just spitballing here.
This is a great tutorial! Maybe we can get a more advanced tutorial on how you managed to animate melonman's punching when he fought the teethineer? It looked really smooth.
Oh, well, i think i can answer that. important step: you will need to aquire ▇▇▇▇. 5:13 engie trying to escape but player drags him back 5:46 the running animation is too good, meaning the engie really tried to run away but got stuck bc of the sofa
The way that Badwater is so well spoken compared to what most youtubers in 2009 would talk like really adds to the overall eerie vibes his videos give off That and the whole ragdolls being sentient thing
@@sinctova the one on the radio is likely a saviour of some kind; seeing as how Scout was the only one to not be deleted (and because killed/deleted characters don't really come back) it most likely saved him and tried communicating with him; to try and make him hide somewhere in the map (as when the numbers are translated, it says "You must hide" and then "Run") but he unfortunately got stuck in the rooms that Badwater goes through and most likely has no power there
Dude, your videos are so amazing. You make these videos look like that they are actually from 2009, and you are so God damn amazing with it. You are even using GMOD 11 to make it look like it's from there. I remember when GMOD was free...
I think you disable the collisions on the prop you want to use (C/Hover your mouse over the prop/disable collisions) Then find the inflator tool and weld it onto the ragdoll's head (i'm not sure about this.) Then go to paint/ and find either eyes or any decal you want to use
Hey so apparently. A little indie game called Minecraft came out May this year! Its got blocks and a lot of creative tools and stuff! Maybe it can also be used for cool Videos someday when more content comes out! But it hasnt been out long, so its pretty bare bones at the moment.
@@pipe8248 Its got potential. But unless something crazy happens it'll probably just be a neat indie game that people forget in a year or 2. But who knows!
the fact the badwater went into the dark rooms to find scout, and engie trying to go there as well tells me that the "scary ghost man in dark" arg is probably in here as well
I know you cannot react to these, but honestly dude, your channel is amazing and I'm so glad it exists. You're an amazing creator and a great storyteller. Melon-Man hoodie when? xd
I like how BadwaterVideos explains how he gets the same ragdolls from one game to the next using a gman-door like technique, instead of just leaving the viewers to guess
Amazing tutorial! I have been trying to figure out running for a long time, so thanks! But I have one question, how do you make or use that door that goes between maps? I think it’s really cool and I want to use it as well! I can only imagine the g-mod skits I could make with that door! Near endless possibilities!
Going out of character for a sec he just openly acknowledged that theyre alive with the wander off bit and everyrhing. Somehow this makes this more... Intense.
