This guy uses the same formula that has been around for years. He speaks very bluntly and with confidence. This is usually enough to win certain types of people over who will see him as refreshing and almost guru-like. However, his ideology is often flawed and he sometimes contradicts himself within a span of minutes (says he's not interested in being your friend and even if you're suicidal he won't talk to you unless you pay him his fee, then says one of the biggest problems in India is greed and gives the example of bartering with a poor person over merchandise). He comes across as set in his ways and seems to believes his views are "common sense" views while too many others are lacking in wisdom. Interesting guy and I respect him for living his life his way but I would be very cautious in coming to him for any type of real world advice. The world is full of people who thought they had it figured out only to find they didn't and even more full of disaster stories of people who followed them. That said, I'm not one of the people who dislikes Loy. The world needs people with different views. Just giving my honest opinion.

Loy is brutally honest and it's good that you gave him a voice on your channel. Folks need to realise that although Thailand is a beautiful and amazing country, there's also many harsh realities which many find out when it's too late. Cheers Loy and Thairish!

In 34 years in Thailand I have not heard anyone speak the truth as this man just did. I hold most of the same views.

He claims to have charged 3 clients $100,000 each and then says if people are stupid enough to pay that money, then he’ll take the money. Not a good move to insult your most important customers publicly. Or he’s lying. Either way….

I admire his straight answers as there is much truth to what Loy is saying. I’ve lived in Thailand and there are many pointers he mentioned which I experienced. Loy keeps going back to the term hard work and yes it does take hard work for anything you do to achieve your goals. Great on him for following his goals.

Loy is one of the most charismatic people you've interviewed. Quite frankly, I I love his brute honesty. It's something the world today is lacking. 👍

As much as most people think that guy is a dick, he was really speaking the truth.... many foreigners from the west think they can survive in s.e.a. with 1 or 2k a month and live life is wrong.... most end up broke within a year and some end up homeless and stuck....

He’s been doing this work for 25yrs but 11 years ago he was living on the street without enough money to eat and contemplated suicide. That is persistence , you’d think if you had been doing a job for 14yrs and couldn’t earn enough money to eat you’d think you would try a different line of work.

As the saying goes, “if you want to make a small fortune in Thailand, arrive there with a big one”.

Let me start by saying that you do good jobs in asking questions and u give your guests a fair time to speak and share their ideas. I have known Loy Machedo since 2010 and I know exactly his real story and the one he is hiding from others. In Dubai Loy had a great career as coach and fluent speaker and he made great $$$$ until he dicided to become more greedy and got himself involved in a faking certificates and committing fraud activities untill he was cought by Dubai police and was given a set date to leave the country and got deported from UAE with a ban on his passport which prevents him from going back to UAE or even other GCC countries. He was broken desperate and gave up all his dreams in UAE and decided to find another country to travel and live there. India wasn't on his plans because he hated being Indian and all other Indians including his family. So he decided to go Thailand which he already visited before and had an idea about live there. He was desperately looking for a visa or someone to sponser him in Thailand and realisee that marriage is the easiest way so he fooled his poor wife and married her without even giving her money,gold or even do any wedding. He was again desperate to get Visa that allows him to stay in Thailand. The sad part is that he always talks sh*t about his wife background and how he saved her from poverty when actually she was the one who svaed him from being a begger on Indian's street and she brought him to Thailand. She even calls him sir????? After he married her he decided to talk sh*t about UAE with fake and made up stories claiming he knnows UAE sheikhs,billionaires,politician,high profile ppl, lol , yet he fails to prove hos made up stories. He share any negative news about Dubai/UAE from any newspaper and he adds some Indian spices to these stories 🌶️🌶️ He hates Arabs,Muslims and anything related to them because he believes UAE destroyed his dreams and thrown him out for committing frauds. Problem of ppl watching his videos is that they believe anything ing he says blindly without even verifying or even some due diligence. Currently he lives in Thailand and depends entirety on his struggling RU-vid channel to earn $800 a month which makes him survive on the island. He makes upto 4 or 5 videos a day and work maybe 15-18 hours to edit them but he claims that he spends many hours with clients or branding???? Maybe he is doing it without getting any sleep or eating foods. Poor ppl fool into his lies and maybe some of poor Indian villagers pay him their hard earnt money to find jobs in UAE because he claims he knows VVIP ppl there lol. maybe these UAE VVIP whom he claimed they known him should have supported him from the begining and saved him from getting thrown out from UAE lol! Please, dont trust or believe anybody blindly without due diligence and always apply some common sense and to Loy, if u have enough guts keep all comments on your RU-vid channel and don't hide them and also u claim u are the best brand builder etc but u failed to grow your RU-vid channel for the past 10 years and barely have 55k subscribers although u post 5 videos a day, so how would u help other grow their brands lol @Loy Machedo

I think this man has a lot of depth to him and deep down he is a caring and compassionate soul regardless of what he says. I like his honesty. Love to know when he was born.

In the first 5 minutes he absolutely ACCURATELY NAILS 98% of people that try to be expats here.

I worked as a mental health counselor in a locked psychiatric facility and it seems like I have seen this movie before. When you do an online search of "Symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder", here is what comes up: "Psychological- depression, distorted self image, grandiosity or narcissism, thoughts of suicide. Mood- anger, anxiety, general discontent, loneliness, mood swings or sadness. Behavioral- antisocial behavior, compulsive behavior, hostility, impulsivity, irritability, risk taking behaviors, self harm, social isolation, lack or restraint". There is an old saying in the mental health field concerning borderline personality disorder..... " You can never win with a borderline, so it is best to run when you see one". They can be engaging and "present well", however they usually lack insight and can be defensive. Generally speaking, nothing is ever their fault, they blame everything on everyone else and refuse to take responsibility for their actions. They have few true friends, as most of their relationships last less than a year, due to their inability to get along well with others. They can share symptoms with sociopaths, considering themselves to be better than other people, smarter and more special, the rules don't pertain to them. They tend to be very black and white, no middle ground, all or nothing. The shoe seems like it might fit in this case.

This must be one of your most interesting vids Pete. I wish there were more people like Loy. I am not naive... but I'd love to meet him and would value his opinion.

I don't mean to judge the guy but i gotta write down my opinion. Unless there's been a reasonable interval of time between the 2 videos, there are 2 different characters being portraied here. A brokenheart victim looking for love and to build a family sharing humanistic values, and a rutheless decisive life coach guru of whatever. Hm...after this second video and him showing his true colors, i start having doubts the first story was real and it isn't just a marketing strategy for what comes in the 2nd video....sorry 'The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence.'

Oh yeah ...Loy speaks as it is ..straight up and down ....a man not afraid to call a spade a spade .....much respect

I have known Loy since 2015. He has been my mentor and has guided me through many difficult instances in my life. I will not call him perfect, but everyone needs someone in life who will tell you straight to your face if you are an idiot and this is the guy for that, but he will guide you too and turn you into a better person, but you have to be open minded and should have a hard stomach to digest the dirty truths about yourself that he tells you. And I can proudly tell that he has changed my life in a big and good way.

I feel quite motivated by his approach. No bullish!t, he keeps it real.

Loved it! I agree with much of what he has to say & he gave some sound advice. I only hope he finds a way to be more productive in less time than he currently devotes to 'working'. With that time... spend it with your children & show them things that money can not buy. Such as... how to be a engaged dad, a loving husband, a thoughtful member of your community & a healthy work life balance. I wish him the very best.

The problem with people like Loy, is they think & deal with absolutes. It’s their way or get lost, yes/no, black/white, go/stay, marry/don’t marry etc.. That works for him, and good luck to him. However, what works for some, may not work for others. I feel the world is more complicated and simplistic absolutes will not cut it. I would avoid gurus who think they know all things.

He did well to dodge the pretty direct questions from you and fill them up with unwanted sensationalist stories like no food to eat and living on the streets. Those are the things of the 60s. I wouldn’t say he’s a narcissist. He’s borderline smart who’s trying to be a Tony Robbins with a different flavor. However, he has strong legit views on certain things. But one needs to be stupid beyond redemption to pay him for whatever he provides.

Gotta respect his honesty and ownership of mistakes he’s made. I hope he treats his wife well and that they’re both happy.

All.comments about the UAE and india are so succinct and correct in every respect - having first hand experience of both - kudos to a man willing to speak his mind - a lesson to us all ! Wish there were more honest people like him on this earth, we need them ! A good interview a lot to learn and ponder over, loved the advice to Thai expat immigrants ! Loys outlook is one i feel i relate to.. It's refreshing. Cancel culture, wokeness, political correctness and trend of being offended has polluted humans. Everything he said is 100 percent true. And there are to many dreamers out there. I'm now hooked on his channel.

This guys bluntness is unintentionally funny.. The bit where he says people contact him to say they're depressed and want to kill themselves.. "I tell them my charges". Almost pissed myself. I wonder why they thought this guy was the right person to call anyway? I think I'll pass on his personal branding service. There's something about his no nonsense approach that people will admire but can you imagine what he's like when the camera is turned off and he's in a bad mood? No thanks.

cut to the chase! brutal honesty is what needed and what he throws down. i appreciate not being driven on the scenic route! saves everyone time and money. it allows for one to make decisions with all the facts. that way, you check to see if you have the heart to handle whatever comes.. options, for REAL! real insight. real grit. very refreshing. respect.

Life is not just about making money. Yes I understand when you've lived in poverty you feel you need to hustle to make money; however, when you sacrifice personal relationships foregoing friends and family is not healthy eventually leads to regrets later in life by then it's too late. He is still not mature enough to understand value of building relationships and keeping it. You need to work towards achieving balance across all phases of your life to get most of out life.

It took me 3 different times to get through these two videos. I, as always, appreciate your efforts Pete. I have nothing insightful to add, nor anything eloquent to say. I guess the best way to sum up these two videos is that this person talked alot, which, of course, you expect, but, in the end, he said absolutely nothing. If this person believes he is contributing, then there is nothing wrong with that, for him, but thank the good lord, I'm sharp enough to hold onto my money, and wish others would also.

He lost me when he said that he is a grown ass man. If he had said he was a grown man okay, but he is an ass man. What does that even mean? Imagine saying that slowly to somebody. Loy is marketing his personal brand, so don't be surprised when half of your viewers like him and half not, The highest attention is always received by people, clubs, corporations, etc. who have a clear direct line and go their way without a twist or turn. They are resistant against critics and that makes them so exiting and dividing. Example Donald Trump, love him or hate him, he will always get attention from both sides. Or football club Liverpool FC, love them or hate them, there is nothing between. And that's actually the world in 2022, people have lost their common sense and pushing the black-white game, no gray zone anymore, they love you when you agree with them, but they hate you when you say I have a different opinion. Different opinions are not anymore wanted in todays society, people are turning more and more in stupid sheeps, repeat like a parrot everything what the mainstream media tells them and when it comes to tolerance, that means for many tolerance is ok and needed, but only when you think the same as me, otherwise their tolerance is gone. I do not agree with everything Loy says, but I like his honest words, his clear line and the fact that he doesn't care if other people think different, he stays on his way.. He is HIMSELF and accepts the way he is.

Interesting dude! In one sense I admire that he dont care what people say and just say what he means, but in another way his generalizations are way too broad. One have to admire how he went from living on the streets to making money. He is one determined man that is for sure! Great interview ! :)

There are a few things i would like to place my arguments: If he doesn't care about anyone, he is brutally straight, how did he lose 50% of his savings to a scamster? If we aren't his friends, why should anyone be empathetic to his nasty experiences? Because he is a script writer of his own destiny. He also keeps mentioning that he earnt millions by going to Dubai, how did he go to Dubai? What were the avenues without his family's assistance, Who helped him go to Dubai? If all his experiences are based on life in Dubai, why does he live and propagate life in Dubai while living in another country? Sometime back i saw his videos while he was complaining about nothing to do in Samui. His videos had about 400-500 views 2 years ago, now probably twice as many views. His way of mentoring is suitable for people who believe in sadomachism. He is rude to himself & I wouldn't be surprised to see the same behaviour to his loved ones. He is the one who believes that he can choreograph the best resume & he can pick a copied resume, but he propagates that chat gpt is an awesome resume builder. A person whom I wouldn't even consider to meet up for free. Lol

This guy talks the talk but doesn't really say anything and sidesteps questions by going off topic - info about Thailand is the same as any South East Asian country - it's nothing new. He talks about hating greed but in the next breath states he won't talk to you unless you give him money - conman springs to mind

This guy was quite interesting and nothing against him but maybe he should invest in "how to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie which might be a better strategy .

So people are paying you 100 grand but you have to work 12 to 16 hours a day for 5 years to have a holiday hmmm 🤨

I like this guy, Loy Machedo, because he is Real and Honest and thats how I have always been in my life. Most people in life don't have "the balls (courage)" to be Real and Honest in life because they are afraid people won't like them or because of the backlash they will receive. But if there is one thing I respect, its honesty. When the great Bruce Lee was asked, "what is your purpose in Life?" Bruce Lee replied, "To always Honestly and Freely Express Myself."

He’s a logical and wise man, surrounded by weak men

Nobody truly has anything "figured out". You win or lose by how you play the game. What I like about this guy, is that you can quickly figure out what to expect of him. He and I are quite opposite in where we came from and how we've lived life, but so similar in the way that we handle things in life. I personally keep an extremely limited number of friends in my life, because when I was younger I quickly found out that most people are full of crap. Outside of that very small group, there are fringe friends, and I would trade them any day for people more like this guy. I don't want friends in my life that agree with everything that I say and will placate me, I want real men and women to surround me who aren't afraid to voice their opinion and stand by it!
