So this flocking is homemade, super easy and very cheap.
The only hard part is the mixing and waiting for it to dry, thats why I usually make mine in bulk.
Any questions just drop them in the comments and I'll answer them all.

This is a really helpful video. Thank you. You do get a lot of "grass" from that, don't you. Nice.😎👍

That's a ton of flock, to be sure, and it looks good in the tub. I would be interested to see how you apply it and how the finished flock looks on terrain or a model base. Anyway, great video, mate! Thanks for sharing.

Its honestly very much like anything you'd buy from the likes of GW and other places like that, once its fully dried (can even give it a final sieve to ensure its all very fine) it runs through your fingers. If you check out my display board making vid, I actually use my home made flock. Thank you :)

Great video. Inhaling sawdust results in consolidation in the lungs and permanent damage. Best to use a mask.

Pretty sure I said make sure to wear a mask at some point during the video. Did you watch the whole thing? I'm usually really careful to include safety notes. But just in case, yes, wear a mask in case your not aware the harmful effects of inhaling dust.

@@BudgetSceneryWorkshop Well done, Sir. Sorry I missed your caution.

Thought I did. Yeah I'm very cautious when it comes to giving warnings, I mean I know it may be obvious, but I don't like to not say it if you know what I mean. I have Asthma myself and have some breathing issues so I'm always careful with my crafting. But thanks for ensuring people are aware of the dangers, appreciate it 😀

Can we make flocking from oil paints???
@BudgetSceneryWorkshop
@BudgetSceneryWorkshop Год назад
I think the issue there will be the smell, oil paints tend to smell pretty awful. Plus, if you were to use oil paint, I'm pretty sure you'd need to water it down quite a lot.

No problem, I'd suggest you experiment with a small amount at first and see how it turns out. (make sure your in a well ventilated area & wear gloves and a mask) I will say oil paints can be used to make a very effective wash for minis. Just look up "oil paint washes" a few bigger channels have some great videos on the subject 🤟
