If this is your case, yes make sure you set your family up first while saving if it’s possible. For me I took out a debt close to R100k to renovate at home. I have a very comfortable bedroom and I am happy with the sacrifices I have taken to improve at home. After struggling with debts largely because of family and living above my means, I finally paid off all these debts including this loan. Now I can save as much as I can and I am grateful everyday to be able to do this.
