😢 I only knew about the scene part. I wasn't the biggest watcher of this show but I did enjoy it.... I always wanted to do some recordings of me doing a few songs and make it look like a whole band of Joels were up on stage.
I am sure you can sing. You have low self esteem. The terrible singers are the ones that think they are better than Mariah Carey Whitney houston and Michael Jackson
The end of the episode is even sadder upon rematch. He wants those extra 45 days to spend with who we now know to be his dead wife. My wife gets choked up when we watch the episode where Robin’s mom shows up to the wedding after Ted starts tearing up.
My Uncle is Liberty DeVitto and I actually was able to see the real deal live early 84. The were SOOO GOOD!.. The only live video of it is from their London Concert of the Innocent Man tour and it was on the evening my cousin Torrey was born! If you get a chance, check out the video!
MiKe050992 I don't because I re-wacth it all the time! A shame they rushed season 9. They barely told any stories about the couple we waited 8 seasons for. But it is still one of my favorite shows along with Breaking Bad and others :).
Yeah me to, actually I'm already at season 9 again, oh and I agree with you about season 9. But when I say I'm gonna miss it, is that I'm not gonna excited for a new episode, or get to see new things happen to them :/
@@codandskate10 I don't know if "rushed" is the right word. The problem I have with season 9 is that the pacing feels off. Most of the time is spent during the few days before that wedding, inside the same building, and then they go through the "afterlife" in a relatively short time. From what I understand, the creators initially wanted the final to be a triple episode but for some reason had to cut it into a double episode instead. :( A few of the deleted scenes are on RU-vid though and watching them helps understanding the true meaning behind the ending imo - especially the restaurant scene.
It’s also pretty sad. It shows how Ted is getting left behind while two of his friends are married and have a kid and another is marrying the girl he’s in love with.
I love this moment for the harmonies. The fact that they re recorded the 3 parts perfectly and had the 6 parts all overlap in perfect timing was beautiful. And because it was 2 voices in 6 parts they blended perfectly. This tiny part of the scene was amazing.
Imagine Billy doing the original ALL BY HIMSELF! Literally every sound on the recording in Billy. All the Harmonies, all the background sounds and bass.
agoss16 i don't know, i just heard in interview on CBS show called "The Talk" of the HIMYM cast and the guy that plays as ted said this but didn't state which musicals though
I went to this dueling piano bar the other day. Four of the male pianists sang this, but added lyrics to it. I wish I recorded it with my phone. They even went into the men's room & did a stanza about a guy who was taking a piss. Hilarious!
time machines will never happen if they did then people would travel back in time to visit their ancestors, help win old wars, or if they did exist they would only be for a select few
NarutoJoeyYugi thats wrong, because like most people, you assume time is a strict progressen from cause to a fact, but actually from a non linear, non subjective point of view its more like a ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey...stuff
This show really puts life in perspective for me. For instance, it feels like a lifetime ago that I got into Doctor Who. I got into it in high school. I liked HIMYM starting years before that. Its a fun thing to track now that NPH is gonna be in the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who. But this song has characters reminiscence on 20 years ago. Despite feeling so much experience in my lifetime, there’s only been half of that, 10 years, since I first loved Doctor Who. I’m only as old as Ted in the first season or 2. Life will continue despite all the experiences. The years keep coming and they won’t stop coming.
I'm older than you are, but this comment made me think of what all has happened in my life in the past 20 years. It's been a wild ride so far, and so much has changed. Anyway, I wanted to say thank you for writing this comment and making me think of life.
Since Barney has waited for this for 20 years, basically after this happened, the present day Barney was like "I can't wait to come back from the future to do this with past Barney."
it's a great ending to what is probably one of the saddest episodes in the entire series (especially on subsequent watches). Really lights up the mood.
This was the creators saying goodbye to the show despite the fact that they could do more with it ........" there'd still be music left to write". All things must come to an end even the good things.
i haven’t watched this probably in years. someone used a brief sound clip in a video and half the lyrics gradually came back to me. had to find this, it came back to me as I was watching, and I mouthed along almost perfectly 🤯
I wish they sung the whole song. If they did, it may become my most favourite thing in this show. Meaning it would beat the beautiful slap bet gag (ikr).
