Fu.k i was looking if anyone else noticed that.. great job 👏 He evolved the phrase and made the rhyme scheme much more complex, even just with the pronouncion of the single syllables... this is a perfect example of the fact that yes, early Em was soo raw and ruthless a d maybe more Slim Shady THE ORIGINAL BUT........ he has raised his pen and his ability to let those syllables do what the fu.k he wants them to do ant his ability to pronouncing things making them fit into the schemes, to a level of greatness that it's not far from being close to perfection IMO...

Eminem himself says that he owes it all to Dre. People try to use that to discredit eminem but he has never once said he'd be where he was regardless of Dre. Eminem still worked hard to get Dres attention in the first place and worked even harder to be consistently good for Dre too.

@24sowl11 Hell no. I've loved every step of the journey. The skillset he showcases is phenomenal. Effortlessly, morfs from a court jester to poet to assassin at will. @miggs80
@miggs80 11 месяцев назад
@@flybrooks8628 I think the complaint about him rapping too good is valid as ridiculous as that sounds. The reason I say that is he’s so hyper focused on the complexity and difficulty of each bar being so technical that I feel the music itself has taken a backseat. The Eminem Show was the last album that I can just let play all the way through. His lyricism is still amazing but I’m not feeling his flow style or the songs as a whole that he does now personally.
@BucsFanO22
@BucsFanO22 11 месяцев назад
@@miggs80 While I do agree, I think more people need to understand that this happens with literally every artist in any genre. Everyone has a peak record or couple of records. It's usually after the first few albums come out and they find their own pocket, they put out a "master piece" record, then fall off a bit, due to age or a number of things. Again, this happens with just about every single artist. The ONLY reason some don't is because they stop early or die young. I can guarantee if guys like Pac and Biggie didn't die so young, they'd be looked at just like EM is these days. "He isn't as good anymore". Idk if you listen to other genres or anything, but a great example is Metallica. Their first 4-5 records are considered the pinnacle of thrash metal, with Master of Puppets being widely considered one of, if not the best/most influential metal album of all time. It's impossible to keep to that standard for 30 years. It just can't be done. So people like to say they just aren't good anymore. It's crazy. I'll genuinely never understand this mindset.

I’ve read/heard countless studies and tons of research on common factors in the backgrounds of abusers, violent criminals, narcissist con artists etc, as well as interviewed hundreds of people about their own emotional issues, and not once have I heard Eminem’s name mentioned. …or Ozzy, or Elvis lol. (Remember, Elvis was “the devil” of his day! ) Coincidentally, I have read and heard many times over people expressing what a positive influence artists like Eminem have been on their lives, how their music helped them through their own addictions or family struggles or loneliness, or inspired them in their own dreams, myself chief among them. Perhaps the most fascinating thing about Eminem is that the man behind the persona actually is a really good role model.

I was a freshman when Em popped. Everyone was trying to blame him for everything bad that happened. Even picketed his albums and stores that sold it. I remember when I was 10 for my birthday, I got the Snoop, Doggystyle cassette. The rule was my mom or my sister had to clear any music or movies before I could see them. My sister said probably not, so my mom had the final say. I knew as soon as my mom put the headphones on, it was going to be a no.😂😂 Surprisingly, my aunt was there too that night and convinced my mom that if I could prove I knew the difference between music and real life, I could keep it. I am so thankful today my family always tried to keep me grounded in reality while simultaneously letting me have an imagination. I now do the same ish with my kids. Gotta keep the kids based in reality.

I am so glad I was wrong, Eminem did shit in hip-hop that was never done before him, mainly talking about folks all throughout entertainment with no concern for the consequences, that teamed with dope ass lyrics, and a straight up eff you attitude, made this song relevant for so long. G.O.A.T debates are always subjective unless its a sport based with solid non-debatable numbers and it has to be a non-team sport also bc your team factors in SO much, but if em isnt ATLEAST(AT THE VERY WORST) in your top 10 youre either completely ignorant or youre just a straight up hater. his pen game is undeniable. even if it isnt your cup of tea, persay....i miss his more simplistic approach like the days this song was made in. he is so complex now that i personally feel it hurts the actual replayability. sometimes i just wanna vibe and instead of having to catch bars i want them to be simple enough to just slap me in the face even if i had no arms to catch them.

Agreed! Eminem changed the hip-hop industry with that first album. There are a long of hip-hop artist that wouldn't exist if this album didn't come out. Definitely one of the best albums of all times, and I can see why it would be someones number 1 album.

Em said it best “9mm stashed in 2 seaters with meat cleavers.. I don’t blame you I wouldn’t let Hailie listen to me either.”

I remember watching this on a boobtube. And our grandma was sooooo pissed off😅 we cranked it and were dancing around the house(we were skaters) when we were 11. This was my favourite song on the cassette tape. Lol I’m 36

If you liked this song you’ve GOT to react to his unreleased song Till Hell Freezes Over. Almost nobody has ever heard it and it’s one of his most underrated tracks from the same era
