!!NEW VIDEO PROS VS CONS of moving to Dallas:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8w601BAlFoE.html JUST FYI: 1. I’ve moved to dallas 3 years ago 2. My first apt 3 YEARS AGO was cheap asf but it was ghetto I clearly stated I wouldn’t recommend it in the video 3. Stop commenting if you didn’t watch the whole video cause clearly I Say the average rent for decent Apts are BETWEEN $900-$1300+ 4. My whole channel is about giving out free game ..so if it don’t apply let it fly 💁🏾♀️ Anyways it all love and thanks for watching 💓 MERCH: my-store-cb9d27.creator-spring.com/
Ive been in Houston for 5yrs. Now. Im ready to go back to San Diego, CA. Im just not getting the jobs that are paying well for 15yrs, of work exp. to live the way I wanted to here. 🤷🏾♀️
I actually lived in those apts (dire circumstances) and... basura. I moved to Las Colinas QUICK and bought a house some years after that. My husband actually recruited for Volt years ago, too.🙂
I just moved to Addison Tx 2 weeks ago, from Florida. I moved here with no job or no help either. Just packed up and drove 17 hours. I start in a hospital in 2 weeks as a New Grad RN, getting paid in the( $30’s ) per hour. I could not get a job as a new grad for NOTHING in Florida. I got hired on my 11th day here. My son is 8, and he loves it here too. It's just me and him.
Moved to Dallas from Louisiana 9yrs ago with no help and two kids. Best decision ever!!! I found my husband here and had another baby two years ago. Bought a house and we are doing amazing. You have to trust yourself and hustle! Family is your worst enemy. Good luck and welcome to Texas!!!
I must say when I moved to Dallas I got on my feet quicker then you can snap ya fingers ! The Lord blessed me with two jobs ✌🏾😊#walkbyfaithNOTbysight 🙏🏾
ha! mee too. I started one job then got a second one a month or so later.. I tired to work them both but I hated ADT.. so I quit. Now I just have the one job but I DO need a second one cause texas ain't no punk when it comes to the cost of living.
Welcome to Dallas ladies🥳🥳🥳💃🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💕💕💕💕💕 Job leads: •Genpact (submit resume through indeed.com) •The Pisa Group (Google address and walk in interview Mon-Thur 9am-12pm) •Securitas security (they take no experience n will get your security card in orientation) These tips could help💋💋 Get this easy money out here💪🏽💪🏽😜😘😘
Our stories are almost parallel! I moved here (Lewisville) 3 years ago from Atlanta . It took me 1 day to find an apartment. Rent was only 765.00 at the time. Found a job 2 weeks before moving here too. It’s all about taking risk and planning as you go. True Faith.
I left San Diego a year ago with my son and never looked back 😂 Rent too high, people are comfortable being stuck where they're at, toxic situations. It was time to go and I'm so glad I did!
Having just a bed is all you need.. After your day is over, you need a bed to get proper sleep.. As long as you can rest well, you can function properly..
LISA the cost of living is expensive.. $1300 + for a 1 bedroom apartment an hour away from town.... Most men are DL, have diseases or if you are dating/ married / in a relationship your man is more than likely cheating on you.. Traffic is terrible...there are not as many job opportunities here as you think... the local famous circle is messy... they tend to block your bag. Atlanta is a fun city to visit for travel or if you are in college. But it’s not a city to settle down, get married and start a family.

This was so helpful!! I’m 16 and I’m planning on moving to Dallas when I’m 18, 19 I have so far 1,000 dollars in my bank account and I have a job! thank you so much for this video🥺❤️I’ll make sure to keep in mind what you said in this video. sending love from Mississippi ❤️❤️
Texas in general is very friendly, lots of jobs in all the major cities and yes compared to Cali and most states- rent and houses are not bad at all! Great tips!
Em Aline I’ve lived in Austin and El Paso most of my life! I know driving in Houston and Dallas is awful 😂. Any other city I’ve lived in or have visited I feel like people are so cold. 🤷🏻♀️
Cristina Q Cristina Q I have lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex almost half my life. With all the people moving here its gotten a lot more hostile on the roads I feel. Every time I go out driving I feel like I’m dodging wrecks left and right 😭. Big trucks dont give a fuck and will run you off the road if they could. We used to have a lot more southern hospitality and niceness overall but I feel its changed a lot here in the past few years. You find it some days. I’ll be honest a lot of my customers at my receptionist job are very nice and still hold the southern hospitality. You can tell who is from out of state. Now compared to places like El Paso, Houston, or Corpus... we are hella nicer lol. Im currently trying to get out. Move to Denver.
Em Aline I LOVE El Paso! Idk, the hispanic hospitality is unreal. Its not as great for jobs, but nicest people in Texas. Austin is amazing too, very family oriented and great for young people... I don’t love Dallas, I’d never live there personally. It is deff the most “city” like area in Texas, and driving has always been bad since I can remember. There’s this meme that talks about all the vibes and Dallas is deff its own thing. Sorry you hate it so much! I’m actually relocating to Denver for 3 months for work. Its very different! Good luck.
My phone clearly been listening to me talk since it recommended this video. I plan on relocating to Dallas next summer. September 2020. Ton of family there to stay with but i don’t plan on being with them for longer than like 2 months 😂😂 then me, my man and our 2 year old will have our own place, but ideally we want to move straight into our own 2 bedroom and this video was so helpful!!
Erin Ashanti no seriously I think we are being listened to on our phones! because so many times I have talked about something, from wanting better body lotion, to moving & wanting to work out 🏋️♀️ and every time it would show up on my RU-vid recommendations or google shop!! Ain’t that crazy 😦
I subscribed immediately. I'm literally deciding between Houston and Dallas. This is sooooooo helpful. I relate to literally everything she's saying. This is confirmation for me 😭
your video was such an inspiration, i decided to take the chance and move to Houston. Best decision ever, after only 2 months I landed a great paying state job and now have an amazing condo. When I first got here I was jobless and living in a shelter. All my hard work payed off.
I did the exact same thing when I moved to Houston. I agree with all of your advice. I moved with 4 huge suitcases, no job, no apartment and MAYBE $1000. I ended up pretty ok, I was there over 5 years and I ended up moving to NOLA....I'll be back in Texas within the next year
@@jaredtheboss Houston is the same in terms of proof of income but the cost of apartments isn’t as pricy as other large cities and there are apartment finders that can definitely help out.
I up and moved to DFW from South Carolina, literally packed my car and left! I wanted to go to OKC but God had other plans for me. I was moving because of the same reason...but I was led by God after reading Luke 5:27-28. Didn't really know what to expect but after 5 months, I just got blessed with my apartment in Fort Worth. I love Texas!!! I should do a video...
@@jessicah4754 I don't know much in terms of the different areas but it's mixed. It's a lot more black people here than one may think. I'm closer to the Arlington side of Fort Worth.
Did the apartments require 3x proof of income to rent their? I called a lot of places in the south and they ask that? Maybe TX is different? Maybe it's different due to covid? Where did you stay the first few days??
@@jaredtheboss yes they did require 3x rental income. Most apartments do unless you go through a private landlord or rental, then it may be different. I stayed with family when I first moved to Texas and stayed at a hotel I was working at a couple of days before moving in.
I currently live in Irving. I moved here by myself in May 2019 with 2 kids no job but God granted me so much favor and mercy which renews everyday. Im from Oklahoma and its way more opportunity here! Fyi with the temp agencies you do have to go to the temp service to complete paperwork but they are immediate hire ! You don't just get emailed the information and start.
I plan on moving there in a few months with my 2 kids also! I don't know anyone there nor have anyone there do you have any tips on how to even start? Lol I'm excited but could always use some advice?
@@skyworley2350 yes definitely email me: andsuccess.iskey15@gmail.com. I'll be more than happy to help you and point you to the jobs and schools and things.
Bree A. My mom moved with 7 kids we didn’t have nothing but my mom got nice jobs in Texas like Home Depot, Walmart places like that and the schools are so nice in Irving I remember they had a backpack program for kids who didn’t have it like that but every Friday at school they called us down to the office to get these book bags full of snacks and food/juices to cover us for the weekend and now that I am grown I’m so grateful and I think the school was called John Haley elementary
@@shayshay4031 oh wow that's amazing. Your mom is a strong woman. I lived there when I was a child and from what I remember I liked it, that's probably why I'm so drawn there. I guess I'm scared of failure. But I know I have to get out of my comfort zone because I feel like my growth here is stunted and finding jobs in orlando is a damn flop... I'm also just worried because I want my son in a nice diverse private school like I went to and I know the people here so I'm scared just uprooting him and putting him in school I'm unsure of, but I have to get over it lol.

Omg I have custody of my little sister she’s 9 I up and moved to Houston but I live on the outskirts not in the suburban area it’s really nice ! Her school is right there !! And so bomb now I’m headed to a job interview at bath and body works . But I’m military retired at 23 for medical and so I do have a stables income without having to works but I’m trying to get to this money !!! I love how we are in the same boat ! And I just left San Diego toooo !!
This is literally me. I'm also a navy veteran receiving disability and gi bill benefits. I left San Diego a few years ago for NY looking for opportunities (mistake) , now I'm moving to Houston next week. Good luck with everything! I'm hella excited.
So I'm in cali and I almost did the same thing due to a situation in my own life. However, after doing much research I found a place that I LOVE! So I love driving, commuting doesn't bother me at all. I found a place that's 700/ mo 3bd/2bth, 4 acres, (which is perfect for my 3 dogs) and I wouldn't trade it for anything! Also, it's a house not an apartment. Im 2 hours from la, 2 hours from Bakersfield and 2 and a half hours from Vegas. The catch is, its out a ways from the city and you have to commute. (but I can't stand city living anyway.) It's doable but you just have to be open to it. 😁
@@theshy1socal it's an hour and 40 mins outside of the inland empire. There's Apple Valley, Hesperia, Victorville, Adelanto, Barstow, Hinkley CA California city, Mojave, Little Rock, Lancaster, and Palmdale. All options for cheaper living with more property. We lived in Adelanto in a 7 bedroom for 1400/mo. Even had a pool and was on a cul de sac. We decided to move because it was more property for an even cheaper price as you can see.

Chileeee same. I moved to Dallas a few weeks ago. With nothing but a air mattress & a dining room table. Gladly I had a job lined up when I moved here. Everything is a process🙌🏾
I moved from Oakland, CA and it was the best choice ever. Everyone move if you want affordable living. I first moved to Addison it is very nice about 20-30 mins from Dallas. I now live in the suburbs of Little Elm next to Frisco. So many jobs concerts I have see Frankie Beverly and D.L Hughley. If you need to leave that traffic from California. Get out!! So many new builds you will love it!!! Don't hesitate!!! The clubs are nice Park Ave, Pryme Bar, Vennettis. You will get a job and a nice place! Two Airports!!
Girl my ass moved from Houston to Dallas Bc i needed a fresh start over. Left all my family and friends back home not knowing anyone here in Dallas. At first i hated it but it grew on me out here been here for 3 years now!
The JazzyWay I’ve lived in Houston all my life & I want to move to Dallas in 3 months to be exact. 😭You just made me look up apartments in Dallas all over again
Jay Rouge girl same here!! Houston is all i know but needed a change. U won’t be disappointed moving to Dallas the city is definitely growing and thriving.
Khris Khaid the parts of Houston where i stayed ( Missouri city, pearland, Sugarland and Richmond katy area) it never flooded where i was.. the news reports the severe flooded areas that are mainly the outskirts of Houston and the not so well areas with bad drainage systems. Don’t be discouraged by the flooding moving to Houston is still a great choice to make!
So happy you posted this I didn’t know where to begin. This will be my first big step into adulthood moving from Michigan to Texas. Always been a goal of mines . Congratulations to you
Same thing happened to me when I moved here! Signed the lease while I wasn’t in Texas and I HATED the apartment and it was in Arlington. Now I live in a suburban area called Flower Mound.

I’ve been in Dallas for a year and a half now. Moved here for a job by myself as well. Still in the process of meeting people but I like it here a lot.
I’m so glad I found this video because I’m currently thinking of moving to Dallas soon. I just quit my job today and I have no family/support but I feel like it’s calling me to just sell all of my belongings and just use that money for a plane ticket and see where it takes me..Scary but I was homeless a year ago when I was 19 and now I have an apartment but it feels like I need to do something different now.
Thank you so much..really enjoyed your story! I moved to Texas with $1500.. that’s it..2 years later I went to school twice & the rest is history! A lot of opportunities here in the DFW area!
itstricky123 Some things I have regretted like having specifically “a job transfer”, instead of excepting any temp. Job for low pay 💰 and 15yrs of work exp. 🤦🏾♀️ i live on the northwest side of houston near willowbrook mall that is not a floodzone area of houston(areas like spring, cypress & parts of Katy & city of tomball are non flood zone areas). STOP WATCHIN THE NEWS(they spin, everything), talk to the locals 🤣 Remember, Houston is HUGE w/around 9mil. People, here. There are alot of things to do houston(when ya moneys right) & some beautiful homes, Ive seen doing food delivery services like FAVOR(thats only in TX) & Doordash. The cost of living is cheaper for now, still. 🤷🏾♀️ U only pay federal taxes in texas. If you pay car registration late, u dont get penalized 👍🏾 the price you suppose to pay, stays the same all year long, Just dont get caught by the popo 👮 hoes 👀, if ya tagged are expired. Ryde the back streets. The exits are spread out, u gotta get used to TexMex 🤷🏾♀️, I miss Cali Mex. food. U can have 4 boyfriends across houston and they’ll meet each until 3 to 4yrs. later, maybe a BIG maybe. 🤷🏾♀️🤣 Im just sayin. And anotha one...🤣🤣
SpecialK 02 lmfaoooo 4 boyfriends 😂 you are hilarious. Thank you for the advice. I will look into because I really had my heart set in Houston. I will look into those non flood zones. It seems like such a fun place to live.
Don't move to houston nothing but roaches I mean every apartment is a roach problem or water damage no matter if you paying 600 or 1200. Will have roaches problems not a lil but a lot to the point of driving you crazy . I hate moving here from Florida trying to see if dallas is different
She said, "Get it done!" and that's just what I needed to hear, thank you! I'm trying to have this type of independence and pick myself up outta my complacent situation just like this.
In moving to Austin soon to work new life and all no friends or family. Sending love and light wishing u many blessings to you on your journey take care 🦋🌻💜
Girllll, you just spoke my life into a video 😩 I didn’t know anyone either & still don’t. Don’t regret it tho, Dallas was the best move I could make...especially leaving NY.

Hahahaaaa peace love and ratchet ness!!!!! I’m from Spring Valley but currently love in Vegas and I’m planning to move to Dallas before the new year. Thanks for creating this video! Your right all you need is faith and to believe in yourself. I’m PROUD of you for doing your damn thing!!!!👏🏾
I’m literally about to move from Dallas to Austin (where I don’t know a soul) and I’m PETRIFIED! Lol thank you for sharing because it’s helping me to get prepared to get through my big move on Monday. I’m moving into my apartment sight unseen as well. 🤦🏾♀️
I have lived on many cities and Dallas,TX and Austin, TX are just a few...I had lived off 35 which goes North and South and Round Rock, TX isn't far...How are you liking Austin, Tx?
Well I moved here 7 yrs ago from New Orleans to Arlington, and I love it, you will meet some genuine people here, and there is always something to do, I work for a mortgage company and I make really good money. Moving to Texas was the best option for me, and there is help everywhere.
I’m from New Orleans also.. I lived in Dallas for 4 years after the hurricane. I’m back in New Orleans but I plan on moving back to Dallas in 2022. It’s too lit out there.

Thanks for naming places, I've watched about 5 videos and I can tell that most people was holding back information. Some people feel like if I had to do the groundwork, so should you, but what's the point of doing a video to give half information? It's frustrating, but thanks for the video, this was the best one so far.
Thanks God I find you!!! I'm moving from McAllen Texas to Dallas and I was looking in the apartments that you mention. I called yesterday and the lady told me that she don't have any available so That happens for a reason.... you video was so helpful.
If door doesn't open it meant for you not to walk through it and for good reason...It may have been bad for you to move into apartment for any number of unexpected events/Count it as blessing and keep your head up...
Its not hard to do 🤷♀️..i did the sme thing with 3 kids in tow..NOT ON PUBLIC ASSISTANCE...drove my car down with our clothes and money.with NO FAMILY OR FRIENDS...just MOVE with a strategy CAUSE THE JOBS ARE HEE...thats all u need🤔
Some of the things she mentioned were really good sometimes people don’t think it can be done and just getting advice and seeing someone else did it may be the push someone needs ... I enjoyed the video
I'm actually moving to Irving, TX that's near Dallas for complete fresh start. Hopefully soon I know it's going a little tough with pandemic and all. But for me it's time for a change and start living life.
I moved here from South Carolina 3 years ago. I packed up my car with my dog and drove 18 hours, no job and less than 6 months ER RN experience. I found a job and apartment within 3 days of my arrival. It can be done
Michell Cureton I’ve thought about it more and realized it was just fear and doubt in my mind. I’m 21 with no attachments. The time is now. I’m definitely making the move in October!
@@lexlu886 Do it. Do you have a career or mind or starting your own business? It's way more to do than SC, it's a great place to grow especially if you're a go getter, ambitious, and goal oriented.
Michell Cureton Yes, I want to enroll into school there and eventually make it my new home. It’s so stagnant here in SC. And I definitely have that go getter personality.
This has been super helpful! I’m planning on moving in the next few months and honestly after watching I feel like I could just pick up and go right away!

You’re so helpful girl! I moved to San Antonio and got a job as a medical assistant through a staffing agency. U could find all kinds of jobs and don’t have to interview with them. Dallas is where is at. I’ve been there. It’s so cheap over there. And the architecture is beautiful.

I'm from Union City, CA and I've been here for 12 years. I have always been able to find jobs and nice places to live. It's affordable and with more diversity coming into the area, this city is flourishing culturally and economically.
Same! I'm planning on moving next month. I'm saving up 1k+ working hard as heck now so I can sign a lease as soon as possible. Miami is not it for someone as young as me to make it without doing shady things, living with roommates, or coming from a wealthy background!! Plus living with my elderly relatives is an emotional chore 🥴🥶
Girl , I’m on this journey of like .. transforming my life and I’m ready to move to Dallas neoooow ! Plus, I heard they have fine ass Nigerians there and I love African men 😩 Thanks for the video sis ! Ur gorgeous!
King Gon Dallas is crazy. There are always shootings. If you move here don’t go to south or east Dallas. But even then as a black man you can get shot anywhere. I live in Dallas and it’s crazy. There are a lot of jobs. Just be safe out here. And mind your business. People don’t play.
King Gon it’s too easy Dating, quality over quantity is something to keep in mind everywhere though. The issue is the opportunity and upgrading of position with big corporations. Dallas has a lot of things to get into and people from all over the world tend to gravitate here because of the job/career opportunity. I just want a change of scenery and people. I been here all my life (South Dallas (not oak cliff) ) I believe it’s a great move for out of towners though. Jobs are willing to hire you faster rather than the natives, specially if your resume shows less history of job skating. I say go for it. If you come here, keep in mind, Temp agencies are cool, but they will keep you on as long as forever with no benefits worth shit. Try to go to the direct source when it comes to employment. People out here are chill for the most part. The youngsters are young but we all been there before. I’m 28 so I’m ready to leave. Don’t trust the police, just stay out of their way (DPD) love to tarnish clean backgrounds (minorities specifically).
