booked a one way flight from lax to dfw and I leave tomorrow. told myself I have to figure it out before I am able to book my flight back and the only reason to come back will be to pick up my belongings to move into my new place (in Dallas!) I'm nervous but so excited for the new beginnings! this is so long overdue for me. thanks for sharing!!! xoxo
I sold all my stuff just keeping shoes and clothes I'll purchase new stuff when I get down very shortly. I can't wait Chicago is all I've known it's time for a change 👍🏼💪.
I Just moved to Dallas! Traffic + the way those service roads and how you merge on and off the roads was like the most overwhelming thing for me! You have to drive soooooo careful! My insurance is like 180 now, but Ive heard of Dallas folks paying 300. ✅No state tax ✅No local tax ✅Dallas ISD Schools =Breakfast and free lunches for every student ✅Low cost gas ✅Healthiest job market in the country. I had interviews daily for like 3 weeks straight ✅ So far love it here! Abundant thriving city!
J F I would like to get into sales out there my flight is booked for the 8th of June any suggestions? I’m open to all I industries . Thanks 🙏 no job lined up yet but hopeful that I’ll find one within a few weeks .
@@doubleupfashion7198 More fortune 500 companies here than like anywhere in the USA. Irving area of north Dallas has many many corporate office jobs. Make sure your resume is on Indeed and you have a small paragraph on your resume of what you are seeking and how your skills relate. Tons and tons of call center jobs here, which can be a great fit into a corporate sales role. Ft Worth area too has financial services and sales. I have only done inside sales not field or door to door type sales. So much opportunity here. Also make sure your Linked In is updated as well.
Another pro .. DFW is soooo big you can honestly ghost someone and never run into them again ..for years if u don’t want to 👀 also, i literally stay in a luxury one bedroom apartment in the mid cities HEB area for only $890 a month including utilities except for the electric🌻 yeah it’s hella affordable if you know what areas to look in.
Jobs i can go with(EVERYWHERE IS HIRING) tourist attractions i can go with too Its definitely not that fashionable Or diverse(u go places like ny la miami nj houston) thats diversity because there isnt 1 type of ethnic group but multiples(ie; carribean u see plenty Haitian Jamaican Dominican Puerto Rican etc) Dallas has mostly mexican(latinos) then black(carribean african or American born)countries n white(irish italian german n american born) people(not many variations of these ethnic groups) Its hardly diverse when u have mostly American born blacks whites n Mexican inhabitants...ijs
Come on over...8Million people. 4th largest metro area in the US. 2nd most jobs 5th diverse city 3rd diverse metro 5th most tourist attracted city. Most malls in the US. And ranks 8th in Fashion. And over 200+ Suburbs and neighboring cities
Ahsuhyah Arts what about healthcare? Or safety? Is car insurance more expensive? Is it a dog friendly state? What about education? What’s the minimum wage? You know the important things
@@breekennedy3945 Not many people here have health Care..but it's cheaper tho compared to other states. Car Insurance here is as High As Californias..I won't lie about that...DFW or Texas in general has high car insurance...most people here don't even have car insurance. it's just so expensive As far as education..Dallas area Has dozens of schools that makes top 10 in the country. DFW ha handsdown best schools in US..most of em are. Star. Very dog friendly here too no matter what city you're in. Better come to DFW as quick as possible..because when this recession hits...DFW will be the Number 1 city to survive this recession. So this is where Most will flock to for jobs!
I’ve lived in Nebraska all 19 years of my life & it’s so boring, depressing, & non cultural 😭 Ive been plan on moving to Arlington Texas january 2021 and I can’t wait!!! Your video just made me even more excited 🥰
Come on over...8Million people. 4th largest metro area in the US. 2nd most jobs 5th diverse city 5th most tourist attracted city And over 200+ Suburbs and neighboring cities. And has So many Amusement Parks.
I’m here early! Also, I lived in the ghetto in SoCal and I was paying $1300/month. People really have no idea the struggle in Cali. A lot of my friends are making my way to Texas.
Its true rent is very affordable. I'm born and raised here an it's still affordable. And actually tax in the city of Dallas is expected to drop by 2% in Dallas. $1400 I cheap. Old country People here get on my nerves Complaining. Im born raised here it's completely cheap
Moved to Dallas from Houston a year ago and LOVE it here! Very busy in Dallas and the DFW area is soooo huge. #1 in both Job and population growth the past 5 years! Almost 8 million people in the area. Houston is beautiful also and huge with 7.4 million in that area.
Yea we Cali people decides to move Dallas because the cost of living is reasonable. I hate the way the engineers designed the freeways out here in Dallas, I see why it be so many accidents. I was thinking the same things you mentioned when I moved to Dallas fro Cali about a year ago.
I’m from Southern California, moved to Austin Texas area about 1 year ago. I love Texas so much! So many things to do and it’s beautiful. Hope all is well with you up in Dallas!❤️
Id suggest Dallas. Dallas is the go hands down. It is Is the 3rd most diverse metro area in the US And 5th most diverse city. Has the best education in the US. And has the Best Road infrastructure in the world DFW is the 4th largest metro area in the US with over 8.1Million people (8,100,000) DFW is a world class, multicultural, cosmopolitan MegaCity that excells in Fashion, film, tech, art, architecture banking, business, tourism and finance. People here are different than people In the rest of Texas. Everything's faster here Everything's Loud and noiser and people are rude and mean. You can be walking downtown, Midtown, Uptown,Deep Ellum, West Elm..or standing inside The Subway or at the train station and run into someone, don't expect to hold a conversation with them so easily ..they will ignore you😂 Dallas is a city that's always on the move, everythings always moving, people have no time here to make friend's...Dallas is very Hustle and bustle That's why Dallas is called the NYC of Texas There's always something to do here as well. Dallas has the most Theme parks in the State.. SixFlags over Texas Theme park SixFlags Hurricane Harbor water park Adventures Landing Theme park Zero gravity Theme park Lego Land Theme park Candytopia Theme Park And more. Also DFW has the largest airport in All of North America and is the busiest. Dallas has over 170 suburbs. By size DFW is 6th largest urban area in the world. And Dallas also brings in over 90million visitors a year. Making it the top 5 most visited metro Areas Dallas Excells in Art,Fashion,Tech,Film, Tourism, education, Architecture and medicine...so the economy is very diverse here
Sis , I feel you. I’m from MS originally. I moved to Cali in 2017 now I’m moving to Texas later this year because I need way more bags for this shit. 🤣🤣🤣
Dallas Is a better option IMO. I wanna find a place in The West Village Fashion District in Dallas. It's Alot more fun things to do in Dallas like Lego Land, SixFlags theme park and SixFlags water park. And so many Amusement parks. I also Like the Fashion and Art in Dallas.
One thing you guys never mentioned is that no metro area has so many beautifuf and prosperous cities or suburbs to chose from as Dallas Fort Worth. A metro of mansions and nice houses, nice modern roads and corporate headquarters.
I'm born and raised here and I agree with alot of your points. It's very cheap and affordable. And plenty of jobs Nooo don't move outta DFW I have no problem with out of towners.
King Asa Peace Sir...I want to move to the outskirts of Dallas, I’ve been doing research....Frisco, Allen, Plano, McKinney, Carrollton. I hear it’s very hard meeting friends, and not a lot of us in those surburbs.
@@MaintainHealthyHair There's alot of us in those Suburbs no doubt... especially McKinney, Carrollton and Plano. Yes it's very hard meeting friends.. Because people here are always busy and it's very Hustle and bustle..so no one has time for that. Everyone has their mind one one thing. But this is a great place to connect with people from all over the world. DFW is the 5th most diverse Metro Area in the US...we have people here from all over waiting to connect. So you have to be confident stick your head out and get out there and meet people. But I do approve those Suburbs you mentioned...I'd suggest Carrollton or Plano...those are closer to the Inner city where you can catch the Train.
@@RhoyalOne1922 Pretty muh the entire Metroplex. But the most AA Population would be: Duncanville, DeSoto, Vickery meadow, CedarHill, Bishop's Arts District, Far North Dallas... Rowlett..
Omg y’all really making a girl consider it’s just my grandma she just got over her cancer beat it but it was a fight I want to move somewhere but prolly not til she has moved on to be with granddaddy but I need to peep Dallas or Houston also considering New Orleans shawty a Bruja
I moved to Dallas back in August from Houston and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made. All the cons you had about Dallas are 10 time worse than Houston (my opinion). It’s harder to find a job out there. Houston and it’s surrounding areas are bigger than the DFW area. Ppl in Houston like to joke about how “Houston is an hour from Houston”. The weather is outrageous out there and the humidity is stupid dense. Imagine taking a hot shower and getting dressed without drying off..then stepping into a sauna (Houston’s humidity). What you pay in Dallas for a one bdrm is higher in Houston. Jobs in Houston also don’t pay as much as Dallas.
I've been looking to move to Houston and I hear the same complaints from people. It seems like Houston has more entertainment and nightlife though from what I saw. Is that the case?
@Guess Who oh yes.. without a doubt the City of Houston is definitely bigger than the city of Dallas...But Dallas metro is Much larger than Houston Metro I think DFW and Houston will tag team on Chicago.
I’ve never complained about gas lol I never even look at the prices lol it’s something I have to have I know 20 dollars will get me through the week lol
@@yazmine3687 if I could suggest one I say Dallas. After all it is the Largest Metro area in Texas and the entire South. And it's the fastest growing metro area in the US. And by 2030 it'll be the size of LA area. Also DFW Has the second most Jobs and Corporations and Has the most apartments in the US Also there's over 200 Sububrs and cities in the Dallas area. There's Many many many means of transportation...Sure cost of living has gone up a little in the Inner cities but It's still very very cheap and affordable. Try not to get drawn into tourist traps. I say that because there are so so so many tourist attractions here..More than Any other Texas City
She speaking facts about the roads. Exits are crazy. You can get off at different points and end up in the same location or end back up on the highway that you exited off of lol! It’s confusing as hell when you first move here and don’t know the area. Once you figure it out though, you can use this to your advantage to maneuver around traffic, etc.
1400 for a one bedroom is not affordable that’s too damn much In Nashville I pay 1300 for a three bedroom apartment in a nice neighborhood with everything included
Exactly!!!! Like i just dont understand why people think thats ''affordable''....for who tho??!! I mean if you got it, cool; HOWEVER everyone cant afford that and its unrealistic to give people that idea about Dallas...
Well it’s affordable for people in California. A standard small 1 bedroom in the Bay Area is easily $1800-$2200 per month & that’s not even luxury. She has a luxury 1 bedroom for $1400, for what she’s getting that’s affordable for her!!
urbangnosis7 That’s last part though! “FOR HER” she’s telling her viewers it’s affordable that’s the difference and if you think paying $1400 for RENT plus all other bills each month just for rent especially a 1 bedroom is wise, think again. California or not!
@@HoneyCramps I used to go back and fourth from L.A. to NYC and the dudes there on the East coast used to be respectable and providers. Nowadays, I could me one of them right in Watts or Compton 😆😆😆😂😂😂 How time have changed....
I’m a single mom and I’m gonna be moving to Dallas really soon. I’ve spent my entire life in LA. It’s so bittersweet. All I know is LA, Compton, Long Beach , Inglewood etc. I love my city but the cost of living has made it impossible for me and my kids to live. I’m scared is an understatement. I keep thinking about making friends like how?! Lol But I know that we will be able to live , without me feeling like I just work to pay rent. I’m nervous but excited. Thanks for the video! ❤️
Girl I'm from NYC and I'm tired chile!!!! 2500 for my 2 bd is with my drug dealer neighbor is not it!! I'm moving as soon as my lease is up! I'm over it! I'm asking for an office transfer to my company's Dallas location. If they say no...IM STILL LEAVING. People don't know how good they have it! If they move to NYC and people from Dallas will be crying to go home! So happy for you! Thank you for these videos!
I’m from Dallas Nd let me tell you people be wildin that’s why there’s so many car crashes but otc Dallas is really chill and fun city to live in. All cities have they’re pros and cons🤷♀️
Looking to move to DFW as well .. can’t wait to get out of Cali!! I’ll be visiting Dallas in few weeks to check out the area.. super excited! What part of Dallas are you in ?? Is Uptown considered nice ? Let me know if you have suggestions
Uptown is very nice....It's considered some of The best of the best in Texas...It's home to Rolex,Frost Bank and over 200 other corporations..very upscale and Vibey. You will get confused driving through there because the skyscrapers tend to get ppl lost. I prefer taking the Train tbh😒
Thank you I needed this. I’m from St. Louis and the rent in my first apartment was 390 lol the most I’ll pay in a different city is 900$ and even that’s pushin it lol
Lol girl you can hardly find anything for 900 in atl. My apt in st Louis was in soulard and I paid 500 for it. I was in the heart of soulard and this was 15 yrs ago. I loved that unit.
Joshua safwat-taylor yea see that’s not bad. 1000 anything for an apartment is a fat NO for me. No kids, no spouse just me. I don’t need to pay that much to live comfortably
I moved from Oakland and I love it! Amazing concerts always something to do! Eventbrite many events. Potters House is here excellent church! Cheaper living than being in Oakland and so much Diversity. I live in North Dallas near Frisco and it is the new headquarters to the PGA. So much growth! The food is so good! Gas is 1.94 right now!
Yes Dallas is 5th diverse City in the US and 3rd diverse metro. And it hard to get bored here.. specially when DFW gets the 4th most visitors in the US
@@urbangnosis7558 Dallas has one of the largest black populations in the Southern part of the US. And that's not even including Fortworth. There's soooo many successful blacks here. Heyy! Loved the video very insightful. Planning on moving to Dallas soon from Fl, I’m applying to some jobs there and I just didn’t get the names right of the jobs you were referring to. Lol do you have their link?
Girl I’m from New England, anytime I see a smooth stretch of road my speed increases. We have so many potholes bc of snow plowing that we have to drive slow to either avoid or drive over them. So when I see smooth road, my common sense goes out the window and it’s fast and furious.
San Diego is expensive. I’m in Riverside $1400 for a 1bd will get you something real nice and luxury, so I feel it’s best to say SD! But don’t get me wrong, Cali is generally expensive asfk too
Hey! First off thank you this was super helpful! I have 2 questions lol One being how is the bug situation compared to Cali? Second, did you bring your car or did you get a new one? I want to move and like soon so just curious what I need to mentally prepare myself for haha
Theres one little thing you forgot to mention I'm From Dallas btw but I personally think we lack transportation like buses there aren't that many and the y leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere my neighbors are from L.A and the first thing they notice is the Lack of transportation
Yall should come visit Oklahoma. Your about 2 hours away from Durant and 2 more hours from Wilburton (where I live) yall would love Robbers Cave State Park.
@@elisa5812 Us Cali women figure it out. Yes, the pay is more here compared to other states depending on what your profession is, but we have this grind about us that def separates us from the rest. But it isn't worth the $$$$$
Elisa honestly most regular people work 2-3 jobs to be able to afford a place because most apartments want you to prove your income is 2-3times the rent but you’ll still need a roommate & that’s just $2500 for rent , not including groceries, car payments/insurance or other living expenses. the cheapest you can probably find is a studio or small 1 bedroom for $1500 but it will be in the GHETTO with no parking no security no laundry in your unit, in an area where you’ll have to park your car in a dark alley and walk to your apartment, not even joking. In other states like Nevada,Arizona & Texas $1,000 will get you a luxury apartment in a gated community with a pool AND utilities paid. Unless your an influencer or entertainer making a lot of money then most likely you’ll be struggling , that’s why I don’t get why people keep trying to move to California because I’ve seen so many friends move out here and become homeless and move back home because you really have to love working like a slave to live here unless your already an established entertainer .....because people that come chasing that Hollywood dream are most likely the ones that fail
Melva Jolley yeah I agree , that’s why a lot of women out here become dancers, sugar babies and use their looks to get them ahead (not knocking them at ALL cuz I’m a SB)
@@Prettykitty111 Yes, my grandmother is on hospice care and she raised me since I was two months old and I'm almost 40. Once she passes, I will have nothing left here in Cali. Girl!!! I have the same pros and cons... I moved to Lewisville in 2017 and honey..... I had to move back home because my dad passed... I do plan on moving back this year. The rent is affordable there lol
I've been wanting to move to Texas for the past 2 years and I finally made the decision of just taking my stuff with me and just leave CA, I plan to move by next month. Watching your video and reading all of these comments is making me even more excited and I can already see that my mind and heart are in the right place! I'm nervous but excited for this new chapter! Thank you for sharing !!!
Currently trying to convince my husband to move to Dallas because we have a son now & need to leave our 625sq ft apartment. But homes in LA that are mediocre cost at least $600K. Decent once cost more & nice ones are 1M. Meanwhile I went on Zillow and found HUNDREDS of gorgeous homes for $250K & lower.
Omg, you can say that again. I'm making 90K working two jobs and can't afford a ONE BEDROOM in Los Angeles. Living with my roommate who's dirty af. Trying to figure out how to move on with my life. Like, you go to apartments they don't have laundry, no a/c, no parking, sometimes no stove or fridge. I'm sorry I got worked up. Good video.
Dallas is the best decision. Theres more jobs and you have a better chance at getting them in DFW than in Houston. Also Dallas is more fun. And Larger than Houston area
Look at the move to Houston videos which I know you are and see the differences in vlogers in their enjoyment from the Dallas vlogers. You'll then know what city if you basing it on that to go to for you. Beware of invisible commenters that just want you to come to their home, haha. I'm from Houston so just choose what's best relating to you because it's about how life fits best for you for where you want to go. Come to Houston, though and you got a beach(Galveston) close with cruise ships to many destinations, the largest medical center in the world, all their sports team stadiums based and in close proximity within the city limits of Houston, all connected by light rail, NASA, #1 either export or import ship channel in the United States, more millionaires living within the largest city in Texas than any other any size city in Texas, the well spoke of food detail, the original and largest Galleria and richest for Texas, just so much. It was great to be born and raised from here. The city is transforming this whole decade to the definite 21st century American city.
And I'm out!! That car insurance tho 😒 ... I think that it all levels out at the end of the day. Just different areas have different ways of life etc. I would've loved to hear about tax rates etc.
Somerset ewww why? It’s nothing here in Baltimore. Rent high and no jobs unless you have a masters degree or a trade. I’m leaving when I finish school next year
Okay I've been considering moving to Texas from Seattle and my mom argued with me saying Texas is really racist... is this true??? I feel like she is thinking about down south from like 25+ years ago... and I'm sure parts of Texas are diverse right?
Hahaha south Texas isn’t racist, I live here and it’s 85% Hispanic since we’re at the border with Mexico. I’ve never lived anywhere else but from my experience Texas isn’t racist at all if you live in bigger cities such as San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas, El Paso because of how diverse these cities are.
@@apoloflores3871 Texas is racist. I'm from Dallas so don't tell that lie. Of course you wouldn't experience racism if you lived somewhere with mostly Hispanics being that your are Hispanic right???
Girl, all my friend stuck in this storm in Texas with no heat, freezing, pipe bursts everywhere, no electricity, no showers for days and I mean dayyys. Gurl, I invited all them back to Cali. It is 70 degrees here in the middle of February. The grass always not greener on the other side, I learned things are cheap for a reason. Find those reasons first. Quality of life does matter especially being of color and immigrant... gurl.... Men be fine...... in California... I don't care what they say.... I was traveling past 3 years every state...the second i am back...gurl...... men be fine even them masks on.... ooo lord! even our walmart feels like a runway for sexy dudes... I am glad I toured entire america before deciding to stay put. Sun is the real energy my body needs to function. Love to you all. Elon musk left California big deal, You think California taxes the rich? He gon over there to exploit texas. Cuz, ppl in California raise ruckus. Like corona ain't enough, people gotta deal with snow shit. Girl! my brain gets foggy without the sun. But all them companies coming to texas, it is only a matter of time before they exploit exploit exploit like silicon valley! i am just saying, been here for 25 years.... I speak from my experience. I had 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom $750 in ghetto, they raised it recently to $900. The best neighborhood is starting $1200. Thing is, you cut the cost when is not needed. I work from home now. I only drive once or twice a week and that is it for me, run all my errands in one trip, early in the morning, no traffic, no nothing. -Plan things and cut your costs, i do my manicures and pedicures at home, I drive only once or twice a week. I enjoy 7 jogging trails next to my house. I do my groceries at farmers market few miles away. $20 bucks a week buys me one week worth vegetables/ fruits. You just gotta explore your community. Life can be a blessing.
I been waiting on this updated video I literally just pulled up your account not too long ago....my biggest struggle is it may be affordable for some to live in but not all I will be coming from Ohio which is pretty cheap especially in my city we don’t have luxury apartments and you can get a 1 bedroom for $545 with all utilities included I just gotta make it work
Move out of Ohio! We moved from Ohio to Dallas a few weeks ago! South Dallas is affordable, and you get more for your money. Yes south dallas is more hood. But the hoods in ohio are worse! We just got a 2 bed 2 bath w/d hookup for 900 monthly. My goal is to land in North Dallas in a year. It is BEATIFUL but 2 bedrooms are like 1200-1500... 3 bedrooms are a hard find
Do you know anything regarding the Plano , Frisco area? I’ll be moving next month and will like to know how’s the diversity in those areas is it a comfortable place for African Americans or do you know of any suburban areas in Dallas that’ll be more suitable for black people
Yours Truly 😹 I left Houston back in August and I love it. Dallas traffic compared to Houston traffic isn’t that bad and the DFW area is actually smaller than Houston and its surrounding areas
@@mckenziewalker6015 Thank you, I was undecided on whether I should move 2 Dallas or Austin next. Now I need to take some quick trips before I move from Houston.
Grapevine and Euless are pretty affordable as well. I like Irving because I’m able to live in a good area for cheaper. I also I don’t have to deal with Dallas traffic but I live about 5 minutes from Dallas if I want to go into the city.
