In this video I want to show you how I use Notion as a freelance web designer, artist, and RU-vidr, including:
- my content planner - how I use Notion to plan RU-vid videos
- how I use Notion for saving art inspo
- web design client portals using Notion
- my personal annual plan
- how I plan out daily tasks using Notion
- couple's annual plan and shared notion page
I know Notion can seem intimidating and overwhelming if you've never used it, but believe it or not my Notion setup started with just a few basic pages and over time grew into what it is today. I think I'm going to make a video in the future breaking Notion down to make it easier and less overwhelming for beginners. I know it can definitely seem intimidating at first. my notion started so much smaller, just a few pages to save notes and ideas, and grew over time as I found more ways to use it.

I love watching motion videos! I love the different ways people have set them up. I don’t currently use notion, I use Trello. But I would like to use Notion in the future but I’m just not sure I have the time to learn how to use it. Did you start from a template or designed from scratch?

I started from scratch! But it definitely started much simpler (just a few pages) and has grown over time. Some of the pages or sections I did use templates for, like I think I got the habit tracker from someone else and just adjusted it to my needs. And the client portal was originally a template that I modified. this is a common sentiment I hear from people though, that they'd love to use Notion but don't want to have to learn a whole new system. It does seem intimidating! maybe I can do a video simplifying it and breaking it down for beginners.

I like how you use it to store all of your design inspiration. That seems like such a good idea. How do you lay that all out?

I just use columns, usually split the page into 3-columns and then add the images.. sometimes I try to group pictures that are related in some way but mostly it's just a chaotic mess of screenshots 😅 I know some people use databases with a gallery view for inspiration images but this way seemed quicker lol
