Oh I absolutely love the new background! It’s brighter and lighter 😀 Surprise surprise And oh, I really like how you kept changing scenes which made this video so much more better! Please keep doing it!!
You'll watch an entire Netflix show even when the first episodes are slow and boring just because someone told you "it gets better." *But what if you looked at your goals like that and watched your life get better instead??*
This. Imagine 10 years of this built up guilt. Imagine feeling like you have to catch up on 10 years worth of work and progress. No wonder I never start. How the heck am I supposed to catch up... Or at least that's how I feel and why I think my procrastination gets a tiny bit worse every, single, day.
Procrastination really affects you, when you do a lot of work and take a break onwards. That break is never-ending. You just look at the time and reset your studying schedule again and again to the point that when the day ends, you never end up doing Anything. The same cycle is repeated the next day, and the worst thing about it is that you rarely get tired of it and stress starts building up, due to your huge pile of work being left uncompleted.
And Im always feel guilty about it. Edit:OMYGOSH i never expected a 14 likes and I think thats a lot because they said 2 and more is alot so Thank you so much.My happiness is just a half of your nails.Babye.
1. Use your failures as rocket fuel 2. Take concrete steps to boost your self-confidence 3. Surround yourself with greatness (motivating books from "legends" in sports, business, anything) 4. Obey the law of forced efficiency (there is never enough time to do everything, but there is always enough time to do the most important thing)
You know you're a serious procrastinator when you procrastinate watching videos on how to get rid of procrastination- makes sense? It does, to me. Finally watching this after keeping it in my watch later for a week :")
😭😭😭😭 Although I got rid of the phone addiction, I was still procrastinating by doing unimportant and small tasks and then doing the important tasks the day before which was stressful because I know I had been working. I totally needed this video to learn that there is never time to do everything but there is time to accomplish the important ones... Thank you so much, Mike. You changed my life :))
@@randomhooman000 I used to have a 2 acc on yt 1 for entertainment and other for educational and productive purpose , when i feel like procrastinating i will switch to this acc . The tumbnail and video recommendations of this acc is not that catchy so i will stop there and start studying and watch streamers studying, it will tempt us to study , hope this will help you
As a procrastinator you know exactly what is the reason of your failure, it makes you angry with yourself, you know you'd be one of the best if you just tried harder, and yet instead of changing the habitual behaviour you just keep procrastination going on and on...
I'm absolutely suffering of procrastination and phone addiction. I was always procrastinating since i was a kid but that didn't affect my school result i was actually an excellent student (i could have done even better). But ofc with the years study became harder, if you don't work you'll not get what you want. So my grades are becoming worst I'm feeling bad and disappointed because i know i could do better but i'm unable to change myself. I'm able to ignore all the work i have to do until last minute : i'll watch a series, check social media for hours, clean my room or even read a book instead of studying. So i'm promising myself in front of y'all that i'll change. The third semester in school is gonna start and i promise i'll try my best. ❤️
In fact, we only procrastinate when we have to do things we dont like to do. Doing things we dont like makes us suffer, and our brain is smart enough to make us avoid this suffering. With that in mind, change your focus from the suffering of doing the tasks itself to the relief you'll get when the tasks are done. It works for me.
The wisest thing that should be on every wise individual's list is to invest in different stream of income and don't depend on the government to bring in money especially now the pandemic is hitting the economy
Thank you for bringing this Mike. We appreciate your efforts. The best way to beat procrastination is REMEMBERING your "WHY." It works for me all the time.
Productivity tip: Just enjoy what you are doing; productivity will take care of itself. Just think how much do you procrastinate while watching Netflix and how much you procrastinate while watching a *boring documentary. Well, which one is more fun?
Its not easy when there are pretty incredible algorithms working non-stop and incredibly fast to conjure fun things to distract you with. Stuff that you may love but not needed at all .
1. Use your failure as motivation - remind yourself the feeling of failure 2. Take steps to boost confidence and self-esteem - The less confident you are, the more likely you are to procrastinate. 3. Surround yourself with greatness, listen to what good people say - watch podcasts - read books 4. Obey the law of forced efficiency. - Instead of long todo list, create 1-4 most important tasks. As long as we complete these tasks, it is okay.
What I learned: 1. Use failures as rocket fuel → use defeat as motivation to get better. - My idea: each time I fall into procrastination, think of it as a temporary setback that motivates me to improve. 2. Take steps to boost confidence and self-esteem. Read inspirational books about successful people. - My idea: read The Miracle Morning 3. The law of forced efficiency: there is never enough time to do everything, but there is always enough time to do the most important thing. - Simplify your to-do list to only include 1-3 IMPORTANT things per day. - Be less busy while getting more of the important things done. - My idea: re-organize my Notion task manager to make it easier to separate critical tasks from non-critical tasks (i.e. ideas)
I am in love with the vulnerability. The part about the marks to get to uni brought me back to the same part of my life and man they were shit, I lack so much confidence in myself but now it's over
I have watched lots of people made you tube videos how to overcome obstacles and be effective, productive but Elon is the best and most sincerely among all those videos. You are inspiration. I sincerely thank you. By the way I usually never comment on you tube but for you I did. Your honesty and the way you present to show examples are great. Thank you again
The second point he mentioned is probably the most important message in this video. Before watching this video I doubted if I will take away anything really useful, but the second point really opened my eyes. I realized it's so true in my case, and possibly for most other people too.
One way of avoiding procrastination is to think that the skills and achievements you are doing or making are for you, not vice versa. Thinking opposite makes us feel to do them perfectly and since we know that we can't do it in first try, we try to avoid and delay them as much as possible thereby fueling our procrastination. I used to have the same weak mindset while exercise, which made me lose a lot of important time. But once I corrected my mindset, I corrected my life and overcame my procrastination evil.....
Hey there! I'm pretty sure you get to hear and read something like this, many times, but, I would like to thank you for sharing this one. Keep it up. God Bless you!
Thank you bro, I suffer from this a lot. And I have been thinking about it for a while now. I lack motivation, I have no inspiration. Life is happening to me instead of me happening to life. I lack discipline,I eat junk food. I can't manage my expenses. I have been blessed with great jobs. I don't particularly think I am a complete idiot, otherwise I would not be a manager in one of the leading FMCG companies in South Africa but I am a zombie. I don't even know how to communicate with women anymore. Cause all I do is work and go to my house and sleep, netflix, go to work. Repeat. I wish to be a productive human being. I wish to have something to look forward to. I am just a bag of meat hurtling towards certain death.
The inspiration from Project Elon has helped me a lot, with the help of God and watching your videos and following the techniques and tips you gave in different videos, reading effectively, memorizing books and working hard in studies. I got the first grade in the national exams and entered the list of top ten students in 2022 in Tanzania in business studies (A level) thank you very much god bless you
I overcame procrastination because of our big man Elon. I dont know how to thank him but. . .Thank you. Im in 7th grade right now and im so glad i came across Elon as overcoming procrastinstion at such a young age is going to help me so much. Elon is the man. My results is coming this weekend and thanks to Elon, im quite confident. Elon the pog. Hehe
surround myself with greatness . read / watch about other people who had the same problems and still achieved massively . a deaf actress . NFL player with only 1 foot . blind woman summiting mt. Everest . 1 armed surfing champion . inspiration !
Putting it to the side really only makes things harder. Also I find that information procrastination is a thing too, where you try to gather so much information before doing something and in the end no action was taken. Sort of like analysis paralysis, another obstacle.
This is great. I’m on my way to class for a muscle exam (which Im late for bc I was trying to cram the material in my brain), usually play RU-vid videos instead of listening to music and this video was the first video on my feed. Hmph.
Procrastination is neither a lack of motivation nor of discipline. It is simply a natural response to overwhelm, too much pressure, sometimes induced by trauma. We avoid the task in order to recharge and recover. In our primary nature the task would go away if we go away (eg crossing a river, climbing a tree, avoiding an opponent etc). In our civilised surroundings it doesn't. The tasks keep piling up. In order to overcome procrastination we need to learn how to deal with the stress first, otherwise all superficial behavioural changes are doomed to failure. Also we need to relearn how to recharge, because distraction like TV etc doesn't to the trick and is highly addictive.
1. Use the failure as rocket fuel 2. Took concrete steps to boost self-confidence and self-esteem 3. Surround yourslef with greatness 4. Obey the Law of Forced Efficiency
Yes the point that almost no one give attention to, as its so obvious.. But it's highly important to be repeated out loud and to stop and think about it When you do work on yourself whether the problem is procrastination or whatever It's all about having a good quality life
In fact this is good guideline, inspirational and motivation, especially for those who make habbit or addiction to procastinate their inner activity in other word their daily routine
The number one the makes us "number" and number is we're blinded by the success of others. We're so focused on what media individuals have achieved... and frequently forgetting where we could utilize that time we've spent. Everyone is unique regardless if you're famous or "regular" guy/girl
