You don't know how much you have inspired me. I'm 7 months away from my mortgage being paid IN FULL!!! I have sacrificed so much to get down to the amount that I'm currently at. So I understand being gazelle intense. I watch your video from time to time in order to stay inspired and to not lose track of my purpose. I have family members that tell me that I need to learn how to live and not put so much money towards the mortgage. I've learned that you have to tune out the background noises and forge forward. Thank you for being my motivation.
Update please🙏 Only one person tried to rain on my parade and say you need to live and not be so tight with your money. What they didn't understand is that this is a journey and its only temporary. Good for you got drowning out the noise🙌🙌🙌
Here's an update. I paid off my home on February the 2nd 2022! I am now mortgage free! Whenever you put a declaration out into the universe of what you want to do money will begin to come your direction. I stopped with all the Christmas gifts that was putting me further in debt. I stopped eating out until I got my house paid in full I also stop shopping and cut back on so many expenses. Should I say unnecessary expenses. I recommended to anyone to do it. It is so free and liberating. Now I can take the trips that I want to. For 2023 I'm scheduled to go to dubai! In May for my birthday I'm going to Cabo. And in July I'll be in Las vegas! It has been a beautiful experience. For anyone who's thinking about paying off your mortgage, don't think twice just do it!
Congratulations mam!! Well done! When I started the baby steps, I made $8.25 an hour. I'm now debt free, full emergency fund and saving for retirement...
We paid our house off in 4 years, rented it out....purchased a fixer, moved in it, the renter is paying the mortgage for the fixer....We are fixing up the fixer out of pocket day by day...Once it is renovated, we will put all of our resources toward paying off the fixer, in 5 years it will be paid off....The end goal...Zero mortgages coupled with the passive income of the rental..
Susannah Jones... I love hearing that others are creating their own financial independence, Just stick to the plan and the years will fly by, and you will flourish from your grit and determination!
This is one of my favorite videos to watch over and over. Her story is wonderful. How committed she was to paying down her mortgage. It has inspired me to pay down mine. I like to watch it every now and then to remind me that it is possible,
Me too! Her story keeps on motivating me. Now I am planning to pay off our house in Dec 2023, 9 yrs and 10 mos in the making, originally 25 yrs to pay!
awesome. I am paying triple mortgage payments right now. House will be paid off in 4.8 years or less. This woman is inspirational to keep on the path. I never want my family to have to give up their home due to income loss so this is a very important goal for me. Glad to see how free and happy she seems now.
I've had a similar approach. Tomorrow, I will send in my last mortgage payment. I bought the house in 2010, but really committed to paying it off in 2015. I could've paid it off sooner, but I still wanted to have somewhat of a life (family vacations, dates with my wife). Would I have made more putting the extra money in the market? No doubt, but that wasn't the plan. The plan was to be debt free. Now I can put 60-75% of my money into investing if I so choose, but I think I'll sit back and enjoy the accomplishment first.
Great content as usual, I loved this as I am about to invest in uk property with 70k deposit (plus fees and more savings for furnishing and decorating) to buy my own place, but I am also treating it as my fourth investment, having two spare rooms for lodgers to cover this property mortgage and tax costs... and to build my equity whilst working my day job for my next investment.
Hello, I am in London and am considering investing in real estate as a way to get some passive income. A few years ago, my brother purchased a home in a county outside of London. Because he was unable to find tenants, the property was eventually repossessed. As a result of this experience, I'm concentrating on purchasing real estate in London, where it's quite challenging to obtain a mortgage because of the high cost of the properties. Would you kindly recommend an easy way, where one may try to sustain these cost on mortgage?
First, Jessica you need to have a salary of at least 25k before you will be considered for a mortgage, that you need for properties. If you want to achieve a 75 percent yield yearly, try looking out for an investing advisory or else you will be competing against professionals themselves.
Generating returns are usually phenomenal. What would have been really interesting would be a proper breakdown showing their costs , services, investors return..
That's an intentional way to live Debbie, that's the only way to become debt free. I've already paid off two previous mortgages. Now I'm working on my third and I cannot wait since it has to happen before retirement in four years and I'm already getting there the proficient way, Luckily for me my trader and coach Frost Hilda has been using every opportunity to ensure I benefit from each turn the market takes. Good luck staying debt free as much as possible in the future.
Absolutely Zachary, contract agreement splits are favorable, I’m also exceptionally well positioned as I’m privy, so that’s a good return deal for any investors creating revenue for more interest.
You are OUTSTANDING. Same here. I am single no family no government assistance with a paid off house in California and car debt free. I had the fear of losing my job when I had a mortgage. With no debt, I can rest and be in peace.
James Johnson I'm guessing here Single No children Cheap/free hobbies Minimal social life Beans on toast Never left her state Puts 5 layers on to save on the heating
You are a great example of how we should live our lives. Live within our means and create security by paying off our mortgage as fast as we can. You are inspiring. Love your emotion and passion.
Cool,! I felt very burt out paying off the first. I’m nearly there still. Is the second house much more easier ? Even just emotionally? ( David .R hasn’t spoken about this yet )
Way to go!!!! I'm on my way. Single parent paid off car and credit cards. Next home and student loans. Hoping for 4 to 5 years debt free. Been on track last 2.
Wow what an inspiring story! It's one thing to hear about someone paying off their house who make a great income it's so much more inspiring to hear about someone making a lower income who did it!
What a wonderfully uplifting video. Thanks for taking me along with you. My favourite part of this....? Seeing that beautiful American flag flying with pride and honour outside your house. Much love from England 🏴❤️🇺🇸❤️
I bought my house back in March 2011... August 19 of this year my wife and I will be on a road trip from California to Texas to make our final mortgage payment after saving the money for 5 years. Anything is possible as long as u put ur mind into. I’m just a assistant fast food manager and my wife is just machine operator making $29 a year. I make $26k a year. 2019 will be a new beginning for our life journey
HUGE Kudos to you Kristi - I can soooo relate to your story. I too paid off my townhome in just over three years (I made my final payment this past Friday). The only difference in my story is I waited a little over a year after purchase to get SERIOUS about paying it off. Your statement about FOCUS and how even the little things like weather or not to spend the money to go to a movie so resonates with me as I found myself having that identical mindset. It hasn't all sunk in yet - but I'm thinking it will at the end of this month when I have cash left in the bank that isn't earmarked for another principle payment. Thanks so much for sharing.
This country needs heros and she certainly personifies everything good about this country. Hats off to her and all those like her who don’t sit around having a pity party and who take matters into their own hands and accomplish meaningful goals. I just love it!
Two years later... Im still making my payments.. By my calculations ill be done in 2022. Much sooner than I originally thought! It is exhausting but so worth it when I look back where I was when i started til now. Saved myself over 100k in interest! Yahoooo!
This story makes no sense to me. July 2003 - bought house 2014 started making some extra payments (that's 11 years later!) 2015 - Double payments 2016 triple payment - while living on on 3600 a year 2017 Sept paid off house She said she made 33 months of extra payments. 2017- 2003 = 14 years. It took her FOURTEEN years to pay off the house not THREE like title claims on top. Three years she was making double or triple payments. Not how long it took her to pay off house. Also...when you mail something it typically takes a few days to get where going.... how was it already posted the next day on her account 🤔 Living on 3600k a year.... I want to see her budget. That's 300 a month for bills and food? How much was her car insurance? Electricity? Phone bill? Food? While I'm proud of her for being intense for 33 months... this story is missing too much for me. Most importantly how much her house was when she bought it. And how much was left on it in 2014 when she started making extra payments.
That’s how it’s done! Great job! A short period of focus and intensity got you there! Now imagine the things you can do and the people you can help now that you have no payments. Congratulations!
I love your story, gazelle intense!! Don't ever let anyone down play the hard work and sacrifice you made. Paid for house for a single person, that is awesome. Great job... Love these stories.
This might be my fave DaveRamsey vids! I’m truly motivated now and she makes it “real” about sacrificing and making it happen on a lean budget. I GOT THIS... my home might take 4-5 but it’s do-able now :) Thanks
Amazing story. Kudos .. my mortgage is just too big to even consider this .. lost my house during a divorce, so need to start over, but my dream will still be to pay my house off one day. Congrats.
Thank you for sharing your history! you’re an inspiration. I’m a young lad, and you just have made a big impact on my expectations. I can really do it! I can really do it.
Truly inspired by this, have watched many times and have a mountain to climb myself in terms of finances and my mortgage, but I'm hopeful now and driven. It can be done 👍
Awesome story! A big congrats to you, you deserve it! And to the people with all these negative comments, shut up and go pay on your $500,000 house that you can’t afford.
I will keep watching this video for motivation! Im a single woman getting closer to closing on a house and will make double payments & hopefully triple payments one day!
A bunch of people on here are forgetting that even though she had been making payments for more than those 3 years, those payments barely made a dent in the principle amount of the loan. And if you're busy trying to punch holes in the story, then you're really not getting the lesson being presented. So in reality she really did pay off almost all of the original principle of the loan in 3 years.
I been sending double mortgage notes at a time every month and all my income tax returns. My goal is to pay off my house before 2023. I'm happy she paid off her house early. Definitely a major step to live a stress free life..
That's a nice little town she lives in, it near Austin, my friend goes to the doctor there. Her house payments were probably low, they have to be to work min. wage, so she was surviving back then when she first got the home, and then as her income increased, she paid off her debts, and decided to pay it off in 3 yrs. I am assuming she read Dave Ramsey toward the end of her mortgage and applied his principles.
Well done...!!!! I also think its about buying a house you can afford....mind you that's impossible now in alot of cities...but I also paid mine off and there's nothing quite like it...she bought a cute house.
What an amazing story... truly touching. I made my own mortgage tracker and it's going to be a permanent open tab on my browser until I get this thing paid off.
This whole feel good thing lacks a lot of detail. Did she let out rooms? And the vital numbers involved are missing how much the house cost, how much her income is.
