Contrast paints are an easy way to get some colour on your miniatures very quickly, but are they up to the task of batch painting large armies of infantry, such as the Astra Militarum? READ MORE:
While this does use one or two 'normal' paints, the majority of the heavy lifting is done with Contrast and I feel like it's a pretty good compromise between using only those or going the full traditional route of basecoating, shading and layering. In the video I mention that I'm not sure that it's any faster than painting traditionally, but after going through the video to edit I realised how little time I'd actually spent painting compared to how I ordinarily would, so it must be quicker somewhere along the line!
Apologies that today I sound a little out of breath in some segments. The cooler weather and rain lately has helped deal with the worst of my allergies, but the pollen is just out the window, lurking... waiting for any moment to strike and turn me into a sneezing machine of meat and hair. If that sounds unpleasant, well, you try being me for a few hours while that machine is active!
