#singlewidemobilehome #chalkpaint #budgetfriendly #diy In today's video I'm sharing the process of painting my guest bath vanity cabinet from start to finish.
I know I'll be watching this again because there is so much to think about from what you shared with us. I want you to know that I've been praying for your nephew and your family through this challenge, and will continue to lift you up. You're so right that the purpose of friends coming is not to see a perfect home, but to spend time with you. Your bathroom vanity turned out great... that was a big project that made a big impact! You have a very welcoming home, and it's due to you, Nancy. We put pressure on ourselves, we all do it, and it's good to remember that sometimes we need to step back and give ourselves some grace. I also have to do the breaker box.... have been putting off making that phone call, but you've inspired me to get on that. It is always good to see your videos when you have time, just take care of yourself! We'll be here!
Thank you so much for all you wrote here, Karen. I'm so thankful for your prayers, and for your continued support. You keep me motivated! All of God's best to you, my friend!♥
Nancy, you have been in my thoughts. I’ve missed your videos and I was hoping you were well. I understand totally how overwhelmed life can become and you are right, some things we worry and stress over we just have to hand over to the Lord. Thank you for sharing your sweet words of encouragement. We all have been in that place. My prayers are with your nephew and know you find comfort in knowing that Jim is a believer and that he has turned his cares and illness over to God. Your bathroom vanity looks great and I have the same oak cabinets in my upstairs bathroom that I have put off painting. I’ve never painted cabinets before so I think I’m just afraid of tackling them. I can relate to the shingle vaccine. The 2nd one put me in bed for 2 days as well! I ran a slight fever and felt like I’d been run over! It was awful, but hopefully it’s not as bad as getting shingles. My friend still battles with it. She got shingles in her eye, of all places, and continues to go to the doctor for treatment. That’s been over a year ago. Please take care of yourself and again, thank you for sharing scripture! I needed that!♥️
Hi Sherry! Thanks for thinking of me, and for the prayers for Jim. He is an inspiration to all of us as he leans on Jesus at this challenging time. Your shingles vaccine side effects sound exactly like mine. I do believe getting shingles would be much, much worse than a couple of days in bed with flu-like symptoms. I know of people who have suffered with shingles for years. So, yes, I will continue to get that particular vaccine. I think it's good for five years, if I remember correctly. Anyway, thanks for your kind comments. Glad the scripture encouraged you. ♥
Your videos always leave me with a smile..sorry your past days have not been easy...I'll be waiting patiently for your next one..whenever that can be..glad your back..
Thank you for inspiring me to get myself together sometimes I feel so overwhelmed with people needing me and I worry about my house. I am going to try and remember that people need me not my house!
Oh, my friend, you are so right! People are so much more important than a house. I constantly have to remind myself that my home will survive one more day without a cleaning when there's a friend or other loved one who wants to spend time with me. God bless you, Phyllis!♥
Hi Nancy, I have been praying for you. I've learned that a lot of You Tube content creators have things going on where they just need a break. I used to worry about my favorite people, but now I just pray. Tonight, I had gotten out of bed because I have been SO overwhelmed with my husband's chronic, serious illnesses. I have finally had to let go of being my husband's perfect care giver. After praying about it I still needed something to get my mind off the situation and there you were! This is definitely the Lord bringing me comfort. I am so sorry about your trials and your families. We will add Jim to our prayer time. Lovely bathroom cabinet!
Isn't God just so amazing, Sherry? He is so faithful to bring us the encouragement we need, just when we need it. I'm so glad I was a small part of His plan to encourage you last night. Thanks so much for sharing this with me, as it greatly encourages me, too! And thanks for your prayers. I really appreciate them, and you! There's nothing more challenging, in my opinion, than being a caregiver to someone with a chronic, serious illness. Not hard to imagine how overwhelming that would be. You're in my prayers, too. May God continue to bring comfort and peace to you. ♥
@@ajoyfulcottage Oh my, yes, the Lord is amazing for sure. He never ceases to delight me with his ways! Thank you so much for your prayers. Love and hugs friend! :)
Dear Nancy, You, Jim, and his Family will be in my Prayers. It's good to hear that he knows our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You for sharing with us, and yes; I think a lot of us out here are overwhelmed at this point! I don't know what I would do without having the Lord in my life! Much Love & Blessings to You Always😘
I hope you realize what a great impact you have with the words of wisdom …I can’t even imagine going through life’s difficulty’s without God Almighty to help us through. I too put too much upon myself but God always gives me what I need to bring myself back to where I need to be. Just know you are in my heart and I am sending many hugs and prayers your way. XX
Helen, thank you for your prayers, and for the encouragement you give to me. I just love how God's people gather around His throne, even if it's just virtually, and love on one another. I imagine it makes Him smile to see His children caring for one another.♥
Hello Nancy! So glad to see you. I have added you and your nephew to my prayer list. I understand feeling overwhelmed. My husband and I are retired but dealing with health issues and some mobility problems. I am grateful for our little rent house but we had hoped to buy a house. Not happening wth the economy and interest rates. We started looking at mobile homes recently. But I have to finish decluttering all the things that I kept when my parents passed. I got off to a good start but I have stalled. Getting motivated again hasn't happened. I'm grateful to you for sharing your life with us. You have encouraged me! I love the psalms too! And I know where my strength comes from. Tomorrow is a new day! Thank You Jesus! Be blessed sweet friend!
Oh, Lea, thank you! It just gives me so much joy to think that I could encourage you. There's nothing I want more than to have Jesus use me that way. I'm sorry you and your hubby are dealing with health and mobility issues. I've added you to my prayer list, both for your health and your search for an affordable home. Isn't it grand that His mercies are "new every morning"? Rest in Him,.♥
You are not rambling at all Nancy. I live in South Carolina. It is very hot here. I usually take care of my indoor projects during the hottest months and then my outdoor projects when it gets cooler and it works for us. I have been blessed with the gift of hospitality, and I have never had one guest walk in my house, and say, “ You didn’t finish this room or this house looks like a mess I’m going to leave“. ☺️Enjoy your friends. Enjoy your sweet little porch. Sometimes, when I want to decorate for the season, but too much is going on, I just take out a wreath, a centerpiece and light a seasonal candle.
Anita, your comment made me smile. Especially, the "You didn’t finish this room or this house looks like a mess I’m going to leave“. So true! I have always admired those with the "gift of hospitality". I had an Aunt (by marriage) that certainly had that spiritual gift, and staying in her home was always a great blessing. I'm going to enjoy having guests in my home again. It's been too long! ♥
Beautiful video, Nancy. I’m so very sorry for your nephew’s diagnosis and all your family that is being affected. My prayers are with you all. Putting everything into perspective while you deal with life’s bumps is exactly what we all need to remember! Taking care of yourself is so important. God Bless!
Thank you for your helpful video and comforting words of wisdom. I will say a prayer for your nephew and for you and your family. Life can be very overwhelming at times. You are wise to do only what you are able to at this time. By the way, your home is lovely!💙
I’m with you on the classic white color and not using tape - too much of a hassle. That little shorty brush is my favorite- have several of them. I live in a tiny apartment- so, trying to locate and gather my tools to get the project started is time consuming! I hope you get at least a weeks rest before your friends arrive. You’re so sweet!
Thanks so much, Anita. I recently organized a bunch of stuff in my home, and one thing I did was to collect all my paint supplies (brushes, roller pan, roller, masks. . .just anything that had to do with painting) into a storage container. Now when I'm ready to start a project I'll have everything I need in one place. Of course, I still have to find a place for all my paint. LOL♥
Dear Nancy, you definitely are a talented, creative, resourceful person... but, even more than that, you are a loving, compassionate, kindhearted, selfless individual, who has her priorities straight. Your nephew, and family are in my prayers.💔❤️🩹🙏🏻❤ I have seen those notices about Camp Lejeune on television.🥺
Rhonda, you are a breath of fresh air. I so appreciate your kind words. Truly. As soon as my brother reminded me that Jim had been stationed at Camp Lejeune, I started to cry. I had seen those notices too, and something in the back of my mind nagged at me. It was so long ago that Jim was stationed there. The cancer is in his kidney and stomach, and it just hurts me to think that his service to our country-- not to mention the service of so many other men and women -- has resulted in this. If it weren't for our faith in Christ, our family would be in a state of hopelessness. Thank you for your prayers. ♥
@@ajoyfulcottage You summed up everything perfectly. It is a tragedy that such a situation was allowed to happen. **Your nephew, your family, and you are in my prayers, dear Nancy. Crying is *certainly understandable. Our faith can bring us comfort, when nothing else will. 🙏🏻❤️🩹❤️🩹🙏🏻
Susan, there should be a black subscribe button next to my channel name under the video. Also, at the very end of the video the screen pops up a photo of me, and if you hover over it you'll find it's a subscribe button. I'm sorry that RU-vid doesn't make it more obvious with that particular element. I thank you for bringing this to my attention. It looks like I'll have to point out how to subscribe in future videos. God bless you!♥
Dear Nancy, I have been thinking of you, wondering when you might make one of your lovely posts again, and here you are 😊 I do relate to the feelings of overwhelm that you have been experiencing recently. We both have a lot going on, with issues around work, family health and our own health. Keeping you and your family (nephew especially) in my prayers. Love what you did with the guest bathroom cupboard! I do enjoy working with chalk paint and giving furniture an interesting finish 😊 Have a lovely visit with your friends, and thank you for being our (this community’s) friend 😊x
You are so kind. It's pretty amazing how quickly RU-vid viewers become friends. Thank you for being here, and for your prayers. I very much appreciate them, and you!♥
No worries, we will be here when you have a new video. I am feeling overwhelmed too. We moved into a smaller home and still have to downsize our things even though we sold a lot before the move. I have to look at things differently and not put so much emphasis on my stuff. As my dad always said, you can't take it with you! So, I am learning to put it in perspective. God bless your nephew. Prayers up for him.
Thanks so much for your prayers. I know exactly what you're going through with downsizing. It's kind of a journey, I think. We let go of some things, and then later more things, and then we come to a point where we take that final step of keeping only the things we actually need or really, really love. Hope that makes sense. Anyway, I totally agree with your dad. So true!♥
Prayers,Prayers to you and your family.Truly enjoy your videos and especially your scripture reading and kind words. Thank you for inviting me into your home .
Oh how I’ve missed you Nancy!! I’m glad you are doing well. I was starting to worry and then remembered you mentioned having guests so that’s what I thought you were up to. I’m sorry to hear of the troubles you’ve been going through, but our God is good and He is seeing you through it. Your tutorial was very helpful as I’m about to start my own bathroom painting project (but I’ve been procrastinating). Your video was very inspirational!! As always … I’m already looking forward to your next video!! ❤
So good to see you again. So sorry you have been overwhelmed. Praying for your nephew, Jim and family. Asking God to give you strength and peace. Loved the vanity. Looking forward to seeing the finished bathroom and guest room. May God bless you 🙏.
It was wonderful seeing you again, Nancy! You are just full of God's grace. Your encouragement was a timely reminder for me today. Now, I'll catch up on your more recent videos as I enjoy this crisp autumn day in Illinois. I will pray for your nephew. ❤
Oh Nancy God knew what we all needed- a little encouragingment from psalm of David! Amen, yes when our hearts are overwhelmed we need to lean on the rock of our salvation. Jesus is our refuge & strength. Thank you so much for that scripture. Always good to know we are not alone in our day to day struggles🩵 Just breathe 😊 Your videos are fun & I truly love how your guest bathroom vanity cupboard turned out! Beautiful! Always look forward to your videos but never want you to feel rushed. Always love A Joyful Cottage 💟Take care now (( hugs))
You just look so pretty today! That shirt is the perfect color for you! Your heart is so precious. I’m so sorry to hear about your dear nephew and I will keep him and your family in my prayers. It’s always a good reminder of how wonderful our Savior is and just how much he loves us. You’re such an encouragement. Please don’t ever worry about getting content up by a certain time, etc. I don’t know how you get it all done to begin with. Love your little home! I see your talent everywhere! Thank you for today’s video!💕💪🏼🙏🏻🙌🏻
I love watching your videos and missed you. I am glad you are feeling better. The bathroom cabinet came out great. I will pray for your nephew and hope he is not suffering too much. Next time when I feel overwhelmed , which easily happens to me, I will read Psalms too. Looking forward to you next video!
Hello, Nancy. So glad to see you. Praise the Lord He makes a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland according to Isaiah. We can camp on those promises. I am praying for Jim and his extended family, for you. Your refreshed bathroom cabinet is super cute. Love the knobs you chose.
Nancy, your vanity turned out so well!! I agree, I like white as well, I use color with my accessories. So excited your getting to your guest bath, can't wait to see the next RU-vids in the process.😊❤
I do like the chalk paint in white. It is a classic. I have trouble starting projects too. I bought fabric to recover a chair cushion and it took me 4 days to get it done. I have to wait until the mood hits me to work on anything. I’m very good at procrastinating 😐 Praying for your nephew and family. Thank you Nancy - I look forward to your videos. You inspire me😊
Patti, I can totally relate to waiting "until the mood hits me to work on anything". It's either that, or an occasion like a friend's visit that makes me forge ahead. Funny how the anticipated arrival of a guest can force me to actually do something about the "guest" room. LOL♥
Hello Nancy, Sorry to hear of your Nephews cancer. Prayers for him & all your family at this time . Yes I do understand being overwhelmed and feeling down. Love your advice about going to the Lord & asking for peace & clarity. You home is so inviting & I know your friends are going to enjoy visiting with you & not your house. So do not worry that everything has to be perfect. Finish up what has to be done & get some rest. You want feel good & be ready to have fun with your guests. Come back & share what you all did & maybe some photos. Maybe some Thrifting too. I love your mug, take care Dear Lady & looking forward to seeing to seeing you again. God Bless .
Good advice you shared here, Luella. Yes, I need to make sure I'm fully rested when my friends come. And I'm going to see to it! Thanks so much for your prayers.♥
To begin with Nancy, I love the shirt you are wearing. You always inspire me, especially as, like you mention, I sometimes struggle to get started but once on a roll, thoroughly enjoy creating improvements. I learnt to rely on baby wipes rather than masking tape but your use of Shellac before painting is a new idea, thank you! We are all human Nancy so want to do everything on the list but you are so right; your friends want to see you and enjoy your company never mind a coat of paint on a wall. I’m so sorry that you and your family are dealing with your nephew’s cancer diagnosis and from what I gather, because of something avoidable. Your home is beautiful and your faith is strong; something to take time to occasionally remind yourself. god bless. ❤
This is one of my most favorite chapters in Psalms….going up into the shelter of His wings…so safe. Thank you for reminding me! Praying right now for Jim.❤
I'm so sorry to hear this news about your nephew. Even when you know the person is a believer, it's still so painful to go through something like this. We lost our youngest son seven years ago when he was only 27 so my heart really goes out to your brother knowing he has already lost one child and now going through this kind of sorrow again. Your family will definitely be in my prayers. You are a very wise woman because you know the source of true wisdom. Good for you to prioritize what really needs to be done and not worry about the rest. I think we can all tend to put undue stress on ourselves and it's such a relief when we can learn to do what you're doing and just let some of it go. Thank you for sharing, Nancy, and please don't feel pressured to make these videos when you have too much going on. I think your subscribers are probably just happy to hear from you whenever you have the time. May you continue to feel the peace that passes all understanding!
Kris, I'm so very sorry about your son. I can't imagine the pain of such a loss. Thank you for your prayers. And thank you for encouraging me with your kind words. Oh, that peace that passes all understanding! It is so sweet. God bless you!♥
My prayers go out to your nephew Jim and to you and your family. Yes I would sometimes feel pressured and overwhelmed trying to accomplish an unrealistic amount of work in a short period of time. I would talk to myself and say "Why" and as you did I would say what is the "absolute" items that have to be done and concentrate on that and the rest will happen later. I love your videos and be sure to take care of yourself first.
Hi Nancy enjoyed your video great job with the vanity, you are so right about projects around the home getting started is the hardest part but once you finish you enjoy what you created, my prayers for your nephew and family, as always thanks for the scripture I needed it, and please remember to always take care of yourself first ❤
Hi Nancy. I’m glad you’re OK and I missed your videos. Your bathroom is looking great. I’m a white cabinet person myself and don’t care about the dark stuff either. Dark academia doesn’t seem to be doing that well. My heart goes out to your nephew and family. I live in (western) NC, so the Camp Lejeune issues are always big news here. As always, thanks so much for your encouraging video!
Nancy, first of all, your hair looks so good! Also… I totally agree with you about white paint being timeless. I have used it over and over again on furniture. I did not know that about the shellac. I will definitely keep that in mind for future projects. Boy, I can totally relate to putting off painting projects! But I am so glad when I’m done with them! I think I don’t enjoy the process as much as you do. I like the finished product more!😊 I also love the door pulls that you chose. I’ll definitely be praying for Jim and I’m so grateful that he knows that death is not the final word. Jesus is.
Love what you shared here, Lisee. Although I do enjoy the process to some extent, I work it to get to the finished product. That's what motivates me. :) Thanks for your prayers, and yes, Jesus is in control. God bless you, my friend!
Nancy, you’re a precious woman of God. Thank you for such relatable projects, your content here is so enjoyable. Yes, I’m going to be praying for your beloved Nephew, his parents as they go through this journey. My brother in law served at camp, Lejune During that specified time of water contamination. He was an amazing veterinarian, a sought after surgeon. He had two bouts of cancer, the last being his bladder. Sadly, he passed at age 61, five years ago, without having the knowledge of the camp lejune issues. The wonderful news is, he asked Jesus to save him just two days before he passed on. Thank you for sharing Jesus here.
Hi Cindy! t's my pleasure and joy to share Jesus on my channel. Thank you so much for your prayers. I'm sorry your brother-in-law suffered with cancer. What a comfort to know that he is now in the presence of the Lord! Thank you for sharing this with me, my friend. It's always, always good to receive testimonies like this. They are faith builders, for sure! God bless you!♥
NANCY, my prayers to you and your family. I know what you mean about doing what you can, when you can and when you feel it needs to be done. Our Lord will watch over you and you will be fine. Enjoy your life. I know I am really trying to.
Prayers for you and your family! 🙏🙏 wonderful words of wisdom, thank you! Not giving up on you at all!❤ Hope you have a relaxing time with your company! Looking forward to seeing you again! 😊
I was wondering where you were😮Glad you are OK. I will continue to pray for you and will add your nephew and his family to my list🙏 Your words always encourage me. I, too let myself get overwhelmed. I have to remind my self to "let go and let God". He is The One in control❣️As always, I love what you've done❣️
So good to see you again. I did think you may have fallen off the earth 😉😁. I didn’t see a notification of this video last month but came looking to see if I’d missed anything after I saw you had posted a video today. So glad you are well and that you know from whence your help comes from. I was so sorry to hear about your nephew and will say a prayer for him tonight before I sleep. God bless.
Yes! My dh is dealing with all his issues from being at that Camp - the gov knew! I am sooo sorry. And yes, while it is a challenge, I am happy to hear he is saved. I will pray for your nephew and the family. I pray for better months and times ahead.
I'm so sorry about your husband. It's so sad when we consider that it was completely avoidable. I can't imagine what people do who don't have a relationship with the Lord. He is our strength! I'll be praying for your husband an you. God's grace be with you.♥
When are mine takes over our soul then we have to stop and think what is right or what is wrong and thank you so much for the Bible verse and thank you so much for sharing your life have a safe and wonderful week
I love hot chocolate; I find it soothing...I make it year round too...but from scratch ..some boiling water added to plain cocoa powder, milk to fill..I nuke it until it's hot and sweeten it to taste..I use Monkfruit or Stevia but sugar works too, as does Splenda, etc...and I top it with some whipped cream...most nights I have some before bed b/c it helps me sleep...I'm sorry about your nephew..it's so hard no matter the age..I too read the Psalms when I'm troubled..I had breast cancer in 1992 and the book of Psalms was a great comfort to me, along with the prayers and encouragement of of other brothers and sister in Christ..also total strangers encouraged me..they were like angels sent from God to give me a figurative hug. I've had the new shingles shot and didn't have any side effects but we're all different...In Feb. this year I finally got covid and was pretty sick for a month..once the fever, aches and pains wore off I was fatigued and slept a lot during the day, My sense of taste and smell were back within a month..I'm wondering if I might be having some rebound symptoms b/c my taste was normal for a few weeks and now it is altered. I wish you God's grace, His mercy and His peace at this time. I know he will help your family with the cancer journey too. It helps to know that your loved one's destination is Heaven with a new body and joy everlasting.
Dinah, thanks for sharing your own experience with cancer. So good to know you're doing well now. I make my hot chocolate with dark chocolate cocoa powder, coconut milk and stevia. I just heat the coconut milk, add the cocoa and stevia and stir it all up. Yummy, and dark chocolate has so many health benefits.♥
@@ajoyfulcottage Yes dark chocolate cocoa powder does as long as it's not alkalyzed which strips it of much of it's flavanols (antioxidants)..same applies for reg. cocoa powder too. A fact I only found out recently..also, alkalyzed cocoa powder has a lower concentration of polyphenols..All that chocolate I've been eating for years didn't have the benefits I thought it did..although I love it so much and eating it gave me a lot of pleasure and that is a plus.
