Hi everyone! In today’s video, I talk all about how I passed the NASM Certified Personal Training course/exam in (three) one month. You'll see what I mean by three when you watch the video! I am studying now for the test. since English isn't my first language sometimes I find myself lost while reading the concepts but this video is giving me some sort of confidence on what I actually have to do because it's a lot of information so finding guidance is key. thank you.

I did practice exam after practice exam over and over until I was getting 100 percent on them and I passed my first try so I highly recommend practice exams! :) Best of luck!!

Hi McKenna! Thank you for this youtube. It put me at ease/calmed me a bit. I'm all ready and set the date for my CPT7 exam. I have a question, the proctorulive.pdf says: Have a mobile phone with frontfacing camera or small compact mirror ready. I'm confused because my laptop has a webcam. So how does a phone camera or compact mirror come into play/or why for the exam? Thank you in advance!!! Ashe

I airdrop it to my ipad and it asks me if I want ot open in goodnotes or documents etc. I select goodnotes! :)

Thanks for your video. ♡ I am glad that I haven't purchased the expensive package, yet. The self study package doesn't come with the hard copy text book, but I can read it off online(pdf), right? (I think you have already mentioned that. ) The next question is I actually passed the exam for the NASM group fitness instructor certification course a week ago. What is the next step? I am interested in teaching a muscle conditioning class and etc. Do I need an extra speicialized certification?( I also enjoy "body combat" one the les mills pre-choreographed mixed martial class.)

Yes, you get the PDF of the book and I used it in my ipad and it worked great!

Hey! I actually don't recommend that you get a certification at all. I suggest that you go to our local spin studio that you want to work for and ask them about their audition process. Rythmic studios will train you themselves even if you have a cert so its almost pointless to get a cert in the first place! Hope that helps!

How did you get start studying did you read a little then take the quiz or take the quiz and just read over what was on the quiz?

I started reading. I didn't read the entire book but I skimmed the chapters and got a general understanding for everything. Then took the quiz. Once I realized what I needed to learn more of I started reading part of the chapter on the topics I needed to learn about. Hope that makes sense!

I wouldn't recommend that. NASM has their own concepts you'll want to know. But it will help your studying.

I passed all the quizzes and the 1 and 2 practice test but failed the final practice exam by 78%:( so im kind of bervous/ stress about my exam. Can anybody relate/ give advise ?

Keep re-taking the final practice until you get better scores consistently! And the questions you get wrong, study those topics!

I’ve been torn between NASM and ACE for months now, but been leaning towards NASM but like you mentioned, I heard the exam can be tough so I’m a little scared haha! Also, the only downfall with the self study program is that I’m the type of person that needs a hard copy of everything, especially when it comes to studying off a textbook.

You recommended ShowUpFitness guy's channel who said just go through the Chapters 11,12 & 21 and rest of the chapters can be skipped but you yourself are saying just Chapters 7 & 14 are important?

They are different books. The PDF one I am referring to here is an older version I got online. They cover the same thing, just different versions of the textbook.

I don't feel like NASM really sets you up for this well at all lol but I work at OTF. Since I started w OTF right when I got my NASM cert, I was able to learn on the job and now I feel more confidence taking on personal clients and building plans for them.

I would like the practice but it’s not like I am new in this field I used to work as personal trainer (out of US) and English terminology is new for me so I am also working on that. I am thinking to go to some group classes to see how it’s working to gain some confidence

@@satenikhovhannisyan6203 I'm already with group fitness. I don't have a cert for group fitness. Most studios you may work at will train you on everything you need to know to work for them so I wouldn't worry about the group cert part.
