Loved the random dog walking through one of the shots... I admire your rigour and methodical approach -- and as always the classic yet minimalist vibe.
I already started my wishlist by the end of August. Thrifting online takes time and is sometimes a hit or miss so that I do not find what I wanted on the first try. Like you, I combine thrifting with buying new and loving what I already have.
Omg I needed this. I switched up my wardrobe for Autumn yesterday and realised the only stuff left was office wear.... but guess who's working from home now!! I don't want to go out a buy loads of new stuff because I'm trying to be more sustainable. Was planning to invest in a few nice pieces (e.g. cashmere etc) but every brand I look into seems to have some sort of sustainability problem or their parent company does. It's so hard to make good choices. But ANYWAY. 😂 Love the video as always. Good to have you back 😊❤
Hi! Maybe you could check out some online thrift stores. Many of them have filters so you can choose your size, material, and condition of wear on them. I usually use Swap.com, but Thredup and Depop are very popular. That way you can get what you want but you aren't supporting companies who don't use sustainable practices and your using what is already available rather than creating demand for new items. I hope this might be something that could work for you.
I love Pinterest. I keep a folder of outfit pictures I've printed from Pinterest in my closet that I can pull out if I need some inspo. Right now, smoke from California fires keeps me inside when normally I'd be doing something active outside, and putting together some fall/winter outfits based on the inspiration from my style folder and taking some photos of them so I can remember what I put together has been a fun thing to do.
Hi Emma, as I was watching this amazing video I realized that my fashion taste is going through a major change as well. I used to love colour, although black is my thing, but now it's getting more and more minimalist. Thank you for sharing your ideas and expertise.. 😊😊
I have been in love with your Saint Laurent jacket since I saw it on your channel and have been searching far and wide. I can't seem to find the exact same one and none that I find make me happy yet. Love your style and your videos. Thank you.
Very helpful. As a not natural organizer, I appreciate getting tips from natural organizers. I'm in Los Angeles and there are high temps and fires so it's hard to even imagine fall clothes, but it helps to get some visuals.
I do have one on my list that I will be filming in the next week or so, so that should be up very soon. And I recently done an updated house tour which is up now ❤️
Hi Emma! I too love Pinterest and use it for decorating inspiration, storing images of my clothes, fashion images and just about everything else. Thank you for sharing other great ideas and for your effortless fashion style. 😘
Oh Emma, this has to be one of my favorite videos of yours! After spending most of the year feeling frumpy in maternity clothes I’m so excited to plan for fall and winter outfits. I would love to see another video like this when the next season rolls around!
Hi again! Looking to potentially purchase the Classic Camel coat from The Curated. May I inquire as to what size you got for yourself? I believe we are the same size! I typically wear a US size 6 (which would be a Small) but wondering if you suggest to size up to facilitate cozy sweaters. Thanks again girl :)
Oh wow Emma, I *loved* this video. So much autumn inspiration *including* motivation to shop my own wardrobe. It's still a bit too warm here to do a switchover as you've done but you've got me thinking about all the great outfits I'll be able to wear once the weather gets a little bit cooler. Thank you for sharing all your great tips and techniques and for your fun and friendly vibe. xo
you should use a pinterest pinning chrome extension! it converts images on other web pages so that you just click a button and can pin it directly., so much faster than downloading, saving and uploading to pinterest!
Loved this because you feature heavily on my own Pinterest inspo boards. We have very similar taste although I am branching out from my tailored, classic style into stuff that is less conservative as I get older and feel more comfortable in my own skin. Nothing huge just more colour, small prints and classics with a twist (interesting details).
Love this Emma, and how you are shopping your own closet and adding carefully thought out and versatile pieces - love your choices and I'm also on the lookout for a new (to me) coat or two for this year. Also I love that you genuinely shop 2nd hand and I think it's so good that you mention this regularly, I love finding amazing pieces in charity shops and ebay etc and it's nice to give clothes another life and save them from potential landfill! It's nice to see this carrying through your videos and not just mentioned once in a video that is sponsored by Vestiare / 2nd hand reselling site which I've been a bit disappointed by in other channels.
Loved this video! I use Pinterest every single day too -- it's such a helpful tool for gathering inspirations and planning. Your new chunky boots are absolutely beautiful and you pull 'em off so well, Emma!
Yay, marvellous video Emma. You are one of my style gurus now. Thank you for your wonderful content. Looking forward to Autumn and Winter even more now.
hi emma! I love your style ! so casual chic! each day i try to match some of my outfits just like yours! it's incredible! you are such an icon ! take care
I enjoyed this so much - heading to Pinterest to play awhile! P.s. Really nice editing by Simon lately and love the softer look of your studio background.
Happy Sunday to you Emma! Another fun video to sit back and enjoy the weekend go by. Congratulations on your black coat collaboration with The Curated. Looking forward to that and more. Stay safe & sane xoxo
I love Pinterest too! It's just my favourite for browsing ideas, create inspiration boards, it has everything! Great video Emma, love your outfits, really fan of tailoring and converse, it looks just so cool! 👌👍
Great video! I do feel fairly certain your outfit planning in the fall is grabbing a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and a blazer. In the winter, jeans, a black cashmere sweater and one of the coats.
Loved seeing how you organize your wardrobe. I'm really the opposite and a lot of the times I'll throw on something. Try to be more like this haha. And if anyone is selling that &other stories jumper, send me a message please!! It's looks incredible
Perfect timing to see you! I'm pulling out my jeans and sweaters at the moment. I've been working on making face masks and haven't done much of anything else for weeks. As always I'm sending you endless well wishes and love xo
can't wait for cosy knits and limited myself to creams and greys and beige in my colour tones ( i had a huge declutter of my jumpers over lockdown ) but i was lucky enough to get the striped H&M oversized jumper that sold out in one of your latest videos i just loved it . now on the hunt for a grey coat as i can't wait to wear my navy pea coat but i see how you really suit that colour Emma x
Emma you can consider me a big fan of yours. Your style is 👌🏼and you always have this really cool vibe that is very inspiring 🤩🔝🙌🏼. I love seeing the babies 🐾in your videos 🖤
Brilliant video Emma sooòh informative, even if l personally will search ideas at a lower price point!! Thankyou for sharing your tips lm searching for a black long line Massimo Dutti blazer on ebay. I'd never known this Italian brand and l love it. Cheers lovely ❤🥰
I use Pinterest for house decor or baking inspiration, I don't know why I haven't been using it to plan my outfits! I need to catch up ASAP! Thanks Emma 😊
Love your content, Emma! Can you please do a video about your second hand shopping tips? Ebay can be quite overwhelming sometimes and I need to know how you approach it. Thank you!
I totally love this idea of planning some outfits at the start of the season to help on the days when I am staring at my closet and don't know what to wear, despite the fact I have many great pieces staring back at me.
There are some elements I like but obviously it is quite different to my taste. However, I believe everyone should do them and wear what makes them feel comfortable. My style isn't for everyone but I like it and it makes me feel confident ❤️
OOo another great vid for fall inspiration. So we had a false start to fall, it seems we have another week of warm, dry weather but unfortunately blanketed by smoke blowing into town from south of here. So my "what would emma do" brain is planning ahead for next couple of weekends for: unpacking my fall things and putting away the spring/early summer pieces. A few of my late summer staples will transition well through the next few months. I always find myself doing 2 wardrobe switchovers. One thing I had to tell myself though, is to ignore the early fall sales until I unpack the fall things and recall what i do have, try it all on, and make up my shopping list. For now, I'm dreamily shopping from your picks, thanks again for a great vid!
I've pre ordered the classic camrl coat as per your recommendation 😀 I cant wait to see what you think of the london coat as well as it was a toss up between the two for me
So enjoyed your strategizing on this video. Thanks for sharing your approach. I’m especially taken by your pre-planning outfits and saving them on your phone for those days when planning ANYTHING is a bit much. Clever boots! I haven’t looked at Pinterest in donkeys, always found it difficult to navigate, but I’m going to go back and give it a shot. I’ve been toying with the idea of a black coat, but have a very fluffy solid white dog. Since you have five very active fawn colored pups, I was wondering if it was a big hassle. I suppose a lint roller would just be a part of daily living. Still green with envy over your Seau Sangle and have been scouring all the pre-loved sites. It’s my mission for my October birthday present to myself. Have a marvelous week ahead, and “see” you soon, hopefully!
Yes a lint roller is part of everyday life for me 😂 Although with coats I tend to put them on as I leave so that the pups don't jump all over me/the coat 😂 So its not too bad ❤️
Do I remember rightly that you have an hourglass shaped plaid blazer from and other stories? I remember there was also a stunning one from Zara but I missed out on it. However instead I am waiting for a vintage wool one to arrive and I have a black wool 50's one, I'm just looking for some styling inspiration because currently it's all hugely oversized blazers the polar opposite!
Emma, i love your tips, it's my style, but i live in Brazil where this winter 35, 40 degrees!...unfortunately...but i love everything you share....thank you, your Channel is wonderfull
I think its fine to wear a blazer under a coat - although I tend to opt for a more oversized coat to give some room for the blazer 👍🏼 but if you are comfy with a more fitted coat (maybe if your blazer is fitted too) then as long as your comfy ❤️
Mine is the large and it works well for me as I find it more practical but it will depend on what you want it for (the smaller may be better for you if you don't carry much around - for a date night for example) 👍🏼
Thanks for the great video. Gave me lots of ideas for planning my a/w wardrobe. Love your style. What white trainers do you recommend to go with everything?! X
You have a beautiful style and a gorgeous wardrobe of good qulity classic items that all go seamlessly together. You also have a LOT of clothes. Have you calculated how many blazers and coats you actually have? And how many times per month or year you could wear them? For example, say if you had ten blazers. If you wore a blazer every day from September to March, you could wear each blazer three times per month and 18 times per year. Wouldyou consider that a good anount of use? How many times per item would be a good amount of use for you?
No I haven't actually counted but I do wear everything in my wardrobe and a lot of it is now from previous seasons (hence my switch over video a couple of weeks back) and are pieces which I will have for years to come so I would say I do get a good amount of use out of everything I own. However I am also on a journey to reducing what I own (this is a lot less than I owned only a couple of years ago) and ensuring that the pieces I have are better quality and timeless. 👍
Great video as always Emma ✨. I just wondered what lipstick you were wearing in this video? I'm in need of a new more muted autumn/winter shade. Thanks in advance 😊 xx
absolutely beautiful video as always, emma! may i ask where do you usually shop your trousers from? whenever i'm looking for trousers i feel like i don't have a "go-to" store and i'd love to hear where you usually buy your pairs from! thank you! xx
Great video! I’ve been looking at the Curated London coat and still undecided on sizing... Im 5’9 and slim so tend to disappear in overly sized items. Did you order your usual size, size up or down? Your opinion is much appreciated :)
Absolutely love your videos! I was actually looking at the arket boots online myself. Are they a soft or hard leather/do they need to be broken in? Thanks so much 😊xx
They are quite structured but because of the style I can't see them rubbing (I haven't had the chance to fully wear them out and about yet) but will find out next week as I will be wearing them a lot 👍
