Hello everyone ! In this new episode of open practice, I show you how I work on Saint saens cello concerto, its a very beautiful and often played concerto, and it definitely has a bunch of challenging parts to keep working on, I specially work on coordination, power and quality, it is important to find also as many colors as possible, the music really wants it!
Hope you enjoy the little video!

My FAVORITE cello piece. As a child i was amazed and inspired by dupre's version and her intensity. (This was when public u.s. schools began losing funding and support) I ran to the orchestra teacher and joined...she had me be a violist because there werent any amd i walked to school. I still wish i had pushed back to this day. What a missed opportunity!

Another wonderful video as always! As a cello student who still has a long way to go it is so helpful and inspiring to see so many cellists such as yourself so generous with your time and knowledge sharing like this. I also love your teacher's quote, it's so true! Thank you so much!

As someone very new to cello, I have trouble finding the words to express how much your practice videos help and encourage me. Thank you.

Wow! So inspiring and exhilarating! Thank you for such an intimate moment behind the curtain- those trouble spots are just as interesting and heart-wrenching as the performance- slowing down to actually see what causes the epiphanies! Thank you for all you give to your watchers!

Obstinado, terco en la búsqueda del sonido propicio hasta sembrarlo en los gestos. Gracias Pablo por tan bello ejemplo!

You drew my attention to some things I hadn’t thought about! Thank you! I’d love to see an open practice of Paganini’s variations on a theme by Rossini. 🙏🏻😍

Wow, thanks for sharing. Repetition results in muscle memory... I'm just on Suzuki vol. 2 and when I practice my little sons immediately shut the door of my room... they call me "the noise maker".
